I am extremely disappointed with my experience…read more I booked a digital perm after a consultation where I specifically requested very loose curls. I paid approximately CAD 400 (inc tips) for the service and followed all of the aftercare instructions, including waiting 48 hours before washing. Unfortunately, after my first wash and once my hair was completely dry, the result was largely straight with significant frizz and very little visible curl. It did not resemble the result I had discussed during my consultation or what I would reasonably expect from a professional digital perm. I returned to the salon to give them the opportunity to assess my hair in person. During the assessment, they dampened my hair and pointed out that a curl pattern was visible when the hair was wet, particularly at the back, and concluded that the perm had been successful. However, my concern was never how my hair looked while wet--it was how it looked once dry, which is how I have to wear it every day. The front of my hair had little to no visible curl when wet, and once dry the overall result remained mostly straight and frizzy. The salon acknowledged in writing that the final dry result did not fully meet my expectations, but maintained that the chemical process had technically worked and therefore refused to consider it a failed service. Their final offer was a 30% goodwill refund, which I did not feel fairly reflected the outcome. I appreciate that they took the time to see me again and assess my hair. However, I am disappointed that the focus was on whether the chemical process technically "took" rather than whether the service actually delivered the result that was discussed and paid for. I am sharing my experience so that future clients understand that, if the final result does not match what was agreed upon, the salon may still consider the service successful if the hair shows a curl pattern while wet.

What I loved about this salon is they went above and beyond to make me happy and it was such a wonderful welcome to the French Canadian people. Benoit and Daniele beautifully styled our hair. First let me tell you how they treated us with EXCEPTIONAL FULL SERVICE. I was in a terrible time crunch and did not have time to do my nails so they brought me a nail file, acetone, and I did my own nails while they were doing my hair. They also brought us a big standing makeup light and let us stay in the styling chairs after they were done so that we could do our makeup. And to top it off, a glass of champagne or a beverage of your choice to only make things better! Finally and most importantly, Benoit and Daniele did a beautiful job on our hair! They were both so diligent and skilled. We have long thick ethnic hair and even though it probably took them much more time than the average set of hair to style, they charged us such a reasonable amount. I loved my experience. If you're available between 11am - 4pm to patiently deal with front desk staff while they figure out how to use their systems, re-repeat your name, phone number, email, schedule and your preferred stylist (and call you repeatedly), and then find no slots for you in the next month.. this place is for you. If you feel that $70 (+tip!) warrants customer service that goes above and beyond and offers flexibility to your 9-5 working schedule **without charging a "no-show" fee after you call to say you're late and get the answering machine** then you might want to look elsewhere. To the management: I recommend a review of front desk staff policies & interactions. The two front desk staff seem more interested in Instagram than customers. PS.
