I'll generously give "two" stars because the sales rep was extremely polite and provided over the top customer service but that doesn't remedy the fact that my now one year old SUV has had several problems in its first year... Bought this vehicle around April of 2013, test drove it and it seemed fine. Look under the hood, checked tires, etc, seemed good to go. After being home for a couple of months, check engine lights comes on....oh great. Even better, SUV begins to shut off when braking. Battery died within 6 months (no I didn't leave a light on), leaks fluid, AND brakes pads needed to be changed within 9 months of purchase....folks I've driven this vehicle under 4000 miles the first year I had it. I don't even use it to commute to work. Needless to say, nice people, bad products (at least in my experience). I bought it as is, huge mistake. Never again. Next time I need a short term vehicle, I will lease instead (gosh I should of listened to my co-worker when he made that recommendation). read more

I had been looking for a car for MONTHS! Finally, a family member took me to Brother's Auto and I was blow away. Awesome selection and even better prices. Hooda who did my paper work; was VERY patient with me (I'm very indecisive) and helped me to get a great deal on my 2007 Mazda 3.... However, a week later my A/C unit went out. I was so upset, I called the dealer to see what they can help/do for me since apparently their vehicles had a guarantee. Let's just say that after the car was sold...they weren't so quick to get on the phone with me or even answer any questions I had. All they could do is tell me what mechanic they used to fix their cars. $300 later...after only owning the car for about 6 days, I hadn't even made the first payment on it. They gave me some story about the guarantee only covering the engine and that Air Conditioning was a luxury not a necessity. I wouldn't go back again! A few months later, my friend (against my pleading) went to Brother's and bought a 2007 Toyota Prius.... big mistake!. Hooda promised him a disk for his navigation (the disk was missing) and upon researching the cost it was in the $200 + range if he wanted to be able to use his GPS. She never gave the disk as promised and LITERALLY 3 weeks after owning the car, he was driving on the freeway the it completely gave out on him. Turns out that one of the two batteries needed to operate the vehicle was bad. He had to pay $900 to get it operational again! Save your money and go with a lot that will sell you a quality vehicle... not one that is patched up just enough to make a sale!!!!!! read more

I bought a car from this dealership 2 months ago. The license plates they gave me when I picked up my registration ended up being registered to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT car. Thankfully I realized this before getting pulled over and having someone else's license plates on my car. I had to pay to replace the license plates even though this was clearly not my fault and had no desire to help me when I went in to tell them what happened. When I purchased the car I noticed that the low tire pressure light was on. The lady told me she would have their mechanic check it out but never did, I had to replace the tire that had a hole in it. When picking up the registration, they gave me one sticker for my license plate (that wasn't even mine) and when I called and asked about it I never received a call back. So, again I had to spend hours at the DMV to fix their mistake. Although my issues might seem minor, I spent a lot of my time and some money into a car that wouldn't had had these if the owner's paid any attention to detail. Good businesses take care of their customers. These people very obviously did not care to help out whatsoever because they already had their money. WIll not be going back. read more

I purchased a used 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor from Brothers Auto Connection on 7/29/2013. The vehicle came with an "AS IS" warranty. During the test drive, I noticed several minor issues with the vehicle, the worst of which was a terrible road vibration at anything above 40 mph. The owner Mark would not budge on the price anymore than $100. I was able to get the owner's wife, Hooda, to bring the price down $250, so I proceeded with the purchase. The purchasing experience was very positive, everyone in the office was very polite and accomidating. The vehicle made the one hour drive home from Manteca to West Sacramento, without issue. Once home, I took the vehicle for a short drive to dinner and within 5 minutes on the road, the vehicle's check engine light came on. I am an ASE certified technician and have my own personal code reader and was able to read the code stored in the computer, which was a P0128 - Coolant temp below thermostat regulating temp. What this means is the thermostat had failed. Again, being a certified tech, I offered to change the part myself if the dealer would purchase the part. They agreed and purchased a part and shipped it to me. When it arrived the following day, it was incorrect. I ended up purchasing the correct part myself and installing it. In addition to the thermostat issue, I had noticed the morning after I purchased the vehicle, that the driver's side front tire was flat. I reinflated the tire and again the following morning, it was flat. I took the wheel off to see if there had been some sort of puncture; what I found was the wheel had a 2-3" long, 1/16" wide fissure in the inside of the wheel that was causing the air in the tire to escape, causing the tire to deflate. Such a serious safety issue had to be reapired before I could operate the vehicle safely so I took it to a professional reapir shop here in Sacramento. They nicely repaired the wheel for $185. I called the Brothers to offer them the opportunity to help cover the cost of the repair, to which they declined by proxy. I currently have a complaint pending with the Better Business Bureau regarding the matter. My advice is, be careful what you pruchase from these people. It is your responsibility to perform a proper safety check of the vehicle you are considering purchasing, in my case, I was extremely lucky that in the period of time that I operated the vehicle before discovering the crack that nothing serious happened, but you may not be so lucky. 08/20 Update: On 8/13/2013 I recieved a check for $155 from Brother's Auto Connection. The check was to reimburse me for the $55 I had spent purchasing the correct part for the vehicle after I had been sent the wrong part as well as to pay $100 of the $185 I had spent to have the cracked wheel repaired. 10/05 Update: Last week these people called my girlfriend to inform me that they had "lost" the smog certificate for the vehicle and that was why I still, a full 2 months later, had not recieved a current registration or sticker for the vehicle. They told her that if I could take the vehicle to get smogged and send them a copy of the bill that they'd reimburse me for the cost of the smog. When I went to get the vehicle smogged, the tech asked me if I knew that the vehicle had recently failed a smog test in California, in May. I obviously did not and its quite clear that the vehicle never did pass smog due to the check engine light that I experienced the day I purchased the vehicle. Since I had made the proper repair to alliviate the issue causing the check engine light, the vehicle passed with flying colors. However, one more peice of advice for those looking to purchase from Brothers Auto Connection; check the smog certificate. It may not have actually passed a smog test. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT BUY AT THIS PLACE. The salesmen are rude. We bought an 07 Mini Cooper. The check engine light turned on before we took it home so the owner, Jon, restarted it and the light went away. It turned on a few days later again, so we took it to our mechanic. Our mechanic did a diagnostic and found so many things wrong with the car. He told us that this car could not have possibly passed smog. The total damages was around 7000$. We go to talk to the owner at least every other day but the RUDE ladies with major attitude problems always say that he is gone and we can't speak to him. We showed up at the office with the complete diagnostic that my mechanic had given me. Once they saw that, they tried to blame it on is because "they told us to take it to their mechanic" YEAH RIGHT. So we took it to their mechanic in Ceres, and that mechanic told us that he couldn't fix it so we should pick it up and take it to another mechanic. We drove all the way to Ceres just to find out that the owner of the dealership called and told the mechanic that we should leave the car there so he can do an oil change because an oil change is going to fix all the problems. THIS PLACE DESERVES TO BE SHUT DOWN ASAP. read more

Bought a truck from them and the entire experience has been horrible. I had to go find someone to help me. Asked to look at trucks and wanted to test drive a couple. They said in order to test drive one I would have to come back in a couple hours. I asked to test drive three trucks. Only one was ready. While I finished driving one I watched them have to jump start the vehicle for me to drive it. Ended up liking it and wanted to talk price and trade in. They told me I had to come back in a couple hours because there trade in guy was busy. I then set everything up and I mentioned the radio wasn't working right. They said they fixed it. Well it never worked correctly so I just bought a new one I was planning on doing anyways. The next day I go to start my truck and the battery was dead. They sold me a truck with a bad battery. I called then close to closing time in my way to work and the guy said to come in and they would test it and it could take up to three days to get a new one. I can't wait that long. So I tested it and it was bad so I bought the cheapest in town. $138. They told me that since they buy them cheaper they would cover half. The kicker is three different people told me different prices for their battery. $50 then $30 and then $68. They are liars and I will never buy anything else there and would strongly suggest no one else does either. They are going to here more from me and I will be talking to the better business bureau. STAY AWAY!!! To make things better they did not do the proper DMV paperwork. I got a letter in the mail saying I was delinquent on my registration. I called there and they said it was my responsibility to take care of it. Worst place to by a vehicle. STAY AWAY!!! read more

First of all they changed their name I can see why after having a bad reputation it's for a reason. The lady who co owns this dealership or at least claims to, is just rude. Gives you one quote then minutes later changes the quote to a higher one. Stating i didn't accept the fist offer so it's going to change. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. This dealership sold us a truck with a blown engine! Purchased a 2005 Ford Ranger. Owner fraudulently claimed the truck was in great condition. We put significant money down. Upon leaving the lot we noticed a puff of smoke from the exhaust. The exhaust smoke got worse and more frequent over the next week. We took the truck to a mechanic and it was eventually determined that the engine was blown and the only solution was either a complete engine rebuild or a replacement. We ended up paying over 7k for a truck with a totally shot engine. The we paid $1600 for a replacement engine. Then we racked up several hundred dollars worth of rental car fees while the truck was in repair. Now we will be paying yet even more money to fix whatever issue is causing the truck's newest set of problems. I will be picking up yet ANOTHER rental car tomorrow. It has been two and a half months since we purchased the truck and we've accrued nearly 2,500 in losses so far, and we still do not have a functioning vehicle. These people have been awful to deal with. Extremely rude and they simply refuse to own up to the fact that they make their living off of selling complete lemons to unsuspecting people. If you are reading this because you have had a similar experience with this dealership, I feel for you, and feel free to contact me. I encourage you to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, State Attorney General and your local District Attorney's office. It is clear from the reviews on this page that I am not the only victim and this place needs to be shut down. read more

I saw my dream FJ Cruiser on their online Craigslist ad and went to their website. With a very colorful credit report i didnt expect to get approved but i applied for a loan online on a Thurs late nite. I got a call from Hooda the next morning with a miraculous news...I GOT APPROVED!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! Sent in the paperworks asap and got full approval that afternoon. Drove down to Manteca from San Jose the next Sat morning and saw my dream suv glimmering in the sun. I was met with a salesman who showed me all the bells n whistles and all $15k+ of off-road accessories all included in the super SUPER low price. Went in the office to negotiate with Hooda and in no time i got my dream suv at an even more incredible deal...signed the paperworks and drove my new tough baby home. The salesman and esp Hooda were incredibly friendly, welcoming and did absolutely everything to get me approved and into my dream suv. I was sooo excited i even forgot my checkbook for the downpayment at home. Hooda was sooo awesome she let me fedex the check back to her after i drove my fj home. She even gives creative financing options so that you will get the car you want and deserve. I was sooo impressived and happy with this dealership that i have since brought two more friends with difficult financial histories to Hooda who AGAIN and AGAIN made everything possible for them with such awesome deals. Brothers Auto is a small dealership and a long drive away but they do have awesome quality vehicles at the best prices ever...not to mention the great staff and the exceptional miracle worker Hooda. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS AND LIARS!!! We went to buy my daughter a car she had saved for and was so excited to get a Jeep Compass. The 2007 on the lot is a mess, by the way. Do not buy it or any other car on their lot. They Sold us the compass and John, the owner, said he would not sell any car that had problems. My daughter drove it an hour before it started jumping and driving weird. We went back and told John, The owner, it was not driving well and he said we could take it to a mechanic. John, my daughter and I took it to a mechanic. As soon as the mechanic got in and started driving he said "Its missing". John, the owner, said, "well yes, its missing". We went back and John, the owner, said we could pick another car. My daughter wanted a Jeep so we got another Jeep. Got it home and the next day the oil light came on. I don't believe there is a car on their lot that is worth buying. All they keep saying is, everything here is "As Is". Your just screwed.!! This place needs to be SHUT DOWN. Like everyone else on this page, this business sold me a car with very serious mechanical defects which were not disclosed. The vehicle was fraudulently misrepresented in every way, and luckily I have solid proof. The paperwork was also not administered correclty. I have filed formal complaints with various agencies and have been told by several that this dealership is already on their radar since they have been receiving an influx of complaints against this business. The Bureau of Automotive Repair is sending someone out to their business to investigate since they too have already been there at least once. I sure hope something comes of it. DO NOT WASTER YOU TIME HERE! Because I did...for 5 hours to be exact. Shawn the sales person I was consulting with over the phone seemed trust worthy. Short and simple... I had a check ready to go for purchase just had to pick up the vehicle. I couldn't go that Friday night due to traffic so I arranged to pick up first thing in the morning. I even came over at 10:30am and 1 hour and a half after opening hours. I was told it was sent over to the mechanic to have it inspected for safety (a must do before any sales are final). I agreed. 1 hour past by...it'll be another half hour...oh 30 more minutes.....ok....20 more minutes....and another 20 more minutes. btw we found a leak in the ac valve need to replace that, will take 20 more minutes.....2 hours later....we got the part we are now finishing up. I couldn't take it take anymore so I decided to drive off and as soon I got to the freeway. The Van magically was ready. I ended up not buying the van even after they offered to deliver it to my house 60 miles away. I found out the ad they put up was a typo. It's called false advertisement! I spoke with shawn for a period of 2 days about how I was looking for an AWD van for the longest and come to find out the ad was a typo. Bottom line....this place is not ready to serve the public due to too many lack of customer service and knowledge of the business. I truly did not want to write this ad, but I had no choice. I am giving ONE star because Alicia the girl at the front desk (besides being TERRIBLE at calling back, she was very nice) besides that, this place doesn't deserve any stars. We went down there from ANTIOCH (during traffic which took an hour and a half after work) to look at a truck we seen online. After seeing the truck we really liked it so we decieded to make the purchase. 3/4 of a way through the paper work Alicia decides to tell us that her manager just informed her that the car still needed to be smog-ed that we could either bring the car back in the morning to have it smog OR leave it there and that the owner would bring it to our house when it was finished. (why the would post in online when it wasn't even ready doesn't make since but OK.) so we left it there and the next day I call to see if it is ready and I am given the run around ALL DAY. and finally my BF talks to the owner who tells him that while he was driving it to get it smog-ed the breaks sounded bad so we put new-used tired on it and had the breaks fixed, but it still wasn't ready to pick up. The next day, im given the run around all day again. so finally the day after the say it is ready and my BF drives ALL the way from Antioch to Manteca after working all day just for them to tell him he cannot take the car. WHY HE CANT TAKE A CAR WE ALREADY PURCHASED DOES NOT MAKE SINCE TO ME! and then they wouldn't give him our deposit back because he didn't have the paper work with him. so he had to wait around for them to finally give us our $6000 back. THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME!!!! PLUS WE HAD TO CANCEL OUT PLANS THAT WE HAD FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND WHICH WE LOST OUT ON MONEY BECAUSE OF TOO. These guys have made me give up on buying cars from an auto dealer. I'm just going to buy from private parties from now on. I walk into this place and I see a car that I really like and I pay cash up front. Even though the sales rep was a complete sleaze bag. The first day I have the car I need to buy a new battery because it was shot. I take care of it myself because I didn't want the hassle of dealing with them. I have the car for a week and they start blowing up my phone while I was at work and when I call them back the girl informs me that they made a mistake and I paid $300 less than I should have. I check my receipt and she was correct so I agree to go down and pay the rest. Then they threaten to hold my registration if I don't pay. And try to rush me down, like I was going to go there that minute. I already agreed to pay so there was no need for that. Then the girl at the office continues to blow up my phone until I go down. Understand that I have a full time job and kids, I can't just drop everything to go back down to the car lot to make a payment that I shouldn't have to make. That's why I paid for the car cash up front. When I can finally go down I was already irritated by the way they were acting about it and I told them that they need to reimburse me for the battery and my time that they were wasting. The girl at the office started arguing about it, then started crying about how she was going to loose her job and finally threatened to reposes my vehicle. The bottom line was that they made a mistake and were utterly rude about it. They wasted my time and treated me like a scumbag. Edit: when I purchased the vehicle the salesman told me that they checked the vehicle over to make sure it didn't have anything wrong with it. 1) bad battery 2) cracked radiator 3) dirty oil 4) burnt out lights Clearly he lied since these are all things that can easily be caught when the vehicle goes through inspection. read more

Pretty good place!! I went first on Sunday afternoon and they were closing and didn't offer to stay which I thought was odd for a car lot but I don't blame them. We went back Monday and Sean was our salesman. He was very friendly and personable and moved around A LOT of cars around to get to the ones we wanted. We drove several and none were perfect. We drove an 07 Scion that was priced a little high for the 150XXX miles on it, but it was in great shape. We drove a Mazda 3 wagon that had some aftermarket modifications and because of that it was super loud but also very nice. We ended up buying a 2004 Volvo S60 with 104XXX miles. It's in great shape and drives well. My only complaint is their unwillingness to negotiate. In all honesty the car was very reasonably priced but no one wants to pay sticker at a used car lot. At least make us feel like we're not getting fucked to our knees. Alisha in the office was a pleasure to deal with and knew her job very well. From the time we arrived for a test drive until we drove off the lot was maybe 3 hours. We're bringing the car back on Thursday to have the side mirror replaced, the remote reprogrammed and a wash and detail. All in all a positive experience. Many people are weary of smaller non franchised used car dealers but in my experience they are much more human and way less of an asshole to deal with. I've had the car only 2 days so I can't speak to the longevity or reliability of the car but I have a great feeling about it. read more

Horrible customer service. My son was interested in a car they had on their lot. He arranged to have the car looked at by our mechanic and was told it had an oil leak. When we went to purchase the car, we explained it had an oil leak that would need to be fixed and John proceeded to tell me that mechanic's will say anything and the car has no oil leak. He was pretty much telling us our mechanic was wrong and dishonest to boot. We tried to negotiate the price of the car down to cover the cost of repair, but he was unreasonable and very rude. When asked was his bottom dollar was for the car he only came down $200. The cost to repair the oil leak was going to be $750. Bottom line is I would never, ever go back to this dealer to buy a car and if anyone asked me where they should go, I would tell them definately not to Brother's. read more

Been reading these post, sad and disturbing. But, for those who think they may want to purchase a vehicle from dealership or any other, then follow the steps I do when buying used. First and foremost, if you're sure that is the vehicle for you, then take it to Meineke right there in Manteca. Get a used car safety inspection/$50 and well worth it. Engine diagnostic/$100. You shouldn't have to take these measures but, most people buying from dealerships like this, have poor to bad credit. I know I did!! Plus all dealerships have to perform smog and safety checks on these vehicles. Ask to see the paperwork and always a car fax!! If not provided, then get to stepping. Hope this helps! read more

How rude and unprofessional...I was inquiring about an inexpensive car for my brother that didn't have a large down payment. Not only was it difficult getting her to answer simple basic question. DO NOT buy a car from this dealer! The check engine light came on during the ride home and the car's engine blew up within days after buying it. After our own machanic looked at it he said the check engine light had been manually turned off. The dealer told us to have our machanic look at it and they would cover it, but then we had to pay him another $200 and the dealer came and towed it to their machanic which took two months to get it fixed and back on the road! We also had to pay another $1,500 just to get it back up and running. read more

I was debating between 3 or 4 stars simply because of their inventory. After several moments of thought on the issue I came to the conclusion that it is the consumers job to do the best they can to research and evaluate a product before buying. It is four and not 5 stars because there is in fact only so much you can do to verify and validate a product so a slim amount of responsibility does fall upon the seller. Especially if they are purposely and willfully misleading you. Now to my experience, I arrived at their lot due to an online ad my wife had seen on Craigslist for a pickup that was too good to be true. In a nutshell I was right, the bed of the truck had multiple signs of wear and tear and the tailgate was a magenta color while the rest of the truck was red. But as I was shopping I noticed another truck that just popped out at me. I took my time and my resources (iPhone) evaluating this vehicle. I seen that it had in fact only 1 owner, it had in fact been in an accident in the front end and it did in fact have some miles on it. But on the positive side it was a beautiful looking truck, the interior especially the rear seats appeared as though the 1 owner took great pride in the truck. The back seats were hardly worn whatsoever and the bed had a newly installed spray in liner. Now time for a test drive, I loved the fact that I had to hunt down a sales guy. I am very independent and self sufficient and only need someone for what I cannot accomplish myself. The guy I made contact with was very over the top polite, professional and wasn't a belittling sales guy whatsoever. He did tell me upfront because of all the vehicles piled onto the lot if I want to drive something that's buried to give him at least an hours notice. I understood and said no problem I want to drive one that's on the end. So we get the keys and he fired this bad boy up. It's got over 100,000 miles on it so of course I initially hear a little valve clack, perfectly acceptable. I get in and go to drive off the lot and immediately notice a small thud in about the middle of the truck, probably I transmission mount. No problem I accept that for the price and its an easy fix. I get on the freeway and step on this 5.4 V8 and boy does this old truck move. I check the steering and its smooth. The brakes stop you on a dime. In the mean time my wife and daughter are putting all the interior accessories and luxuries through their paces. We get back to the lot and I check the brakes they have 2/3rds of the pad left. The lower driver control arm has pick n pull writing on it but it rides great and the tire wear is even. I can see the paint lines where the hood had been repainted but only because I have great attention to detail. Game time, let's talk price. The guy gives me the price on this thing and I was truly amazed. Wow! I have been looking at trucks for a month in almost similar condition for almost twice as much. I was at an actual Ford dealership where their used trucks were literally falling apart in my hands as I test drove them. So I weigh the pros and cons and in my eyes it was much more worth it buying this vehicle and possibly having to put a couple more thousand into it than buying one at twice the price at another dealership and in the future running into the same problems. Bottom line, I did my homework and did my research and knew what I was getting for my money and it was a great deal. I am still very satisfied with this purchase. Horrible place to buy a vehicle. Very unsatisfied with are vehicle,where do I even start.... Half of our vehicle paint job is coming off and now we have paint missing. To fix this issue it will cost over $1600. I couldn't beleive how bad the paint job was until we took it to get quotes,they proceded to show us where all the tape off marks. which means they did a cheap/quick paint job to sell the car. Also we have electrical issue,air conditioner has went out $600,cd player is broke,there was also a crack in the window cleaner reservoir(under the hood). So we replaced that. But still doesn't work,it's the motor to run the window washer fluid has to also be replaced. We also had the tires replaced and got the alignment done. They told us the vehicle must have been in such a bad accident it bent the frame of the car before we bought it.The alignment was so bad it's always going to mess up our tires and we'll always have issues with the vehicle. Also from the accident it was in before we bought it the passenger door makes a whistling noise because air gets though it because its BENT. Our check engine light is always on, our gas light is never turns off. says its always empty. So I'm probably leaving something else out cause we have so many issues. Be very cautious when buying from here, you might just end up buying a lemon. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! Ever since I bought me vehicle from their car lot I had nothing but problems! First off one of my tail lights went out which I thought OK sometimes that just happens but then when driving on the freeway my car would shake so I took my car to a auto shop and changed one of tires which was separating and you could clearly see that but then one day driving home my other front tire shredded to pieces! So not only did they sell me a car with one bad tire but two! I could of been driving on the freeway with my two kids and my tires shred and get into a wreck! Just now is also what pushed me over the edge they call me to go back there and sign some paperwork so I could get my tags since its been almost 3 months. They didn't do their paperwork correctly it was their fault! I live in Modesto and have been driving to Manteca several times wasting my gas. Also the women I talked to was very rude and unprofessional. Not a happy customer. Do not buy a vehicle from here, EVER! read more
