I have been looking to buy a new car for about 6 months and finally narrowed it down to a Kia Sportage Hybrid SX-Prestige. I have a 2014 Kia Optima and needed to take it to the shop due to an engine light turning on. Unfortunately the engine had a severe problem and needed to be replaced. I have a 2022 Kia ev6 GTLine. I'm confused at what Manteca Kia service center did today. I took my car in and the service advisor checked me in and I signed the tablet. He said my supervisor will assist me which was weird but ok. The supervisor said the 24k service was just a tire rotation and check the windshield fluid and since I just got new tires no need for rotation but they will check the tire pressure. I said ok but can I have the paperwork that I signed for the 24k service. He said we are just checking the psi and I insisted for my records to get a copy of what I signed initially on the tablet. He did give me a copy weird thing so they had the car for 10-15 minutes I just got in the car and get a phone call from the service manager Zamora asking how my service went. I informed him I'm confused the 4-5 time I had the car service here they had the car for 5 to 6 hours. That the supervisor wouldn't give me a copy of the paperwork I signed initially with the service advisor. Manager said he will check with him and call me back because my paperwork said they did a 9 point maintenance inspection in which I didn't receive a callback today. 3-4 hours later I was driving in Stockton I go into a store and when I tried to start the car I get the 12v battery low. I get the car to Stockton Kia luckily 5 miles away. They informed me that the warranty on the battery was 3 years or 36k miles that ended in June 2025. Since it was Saturday they said can u leave the car here til Monday of course since it's an electric vehicle and I get a 12v battery low notice I'm not taking any chances. Stockton Kia informed me it's a $500 diagnostic in case it's more than the 12v battery plus $330 plus for the battery if they have to change it. Note since today was Saturday when this happened I did try calling Manteca Kia and left a message with Zamora recorder of the low 12v battery symbol. I really like the ev6 and hoping it's just the 12v battery but the Manteca Kia service department the crew has changed and how this played out today I'm really confused and suspicious about that service department. read more

Received a recall notice from Kia. I made an appointment for a Saturday. When I arrived, they had no record of the appointment, but accommodated me. Not like they did me a favor considering it was their mistake. One of the recall items was completed and I had an oil change and wiper blades replaced. Then I was told that the part for the other item is not in and I would get a call. I never heard back. I called the dealership and was told that it was not in and had not even been ordered. There was some back/forth and a bunch of lies told as far as who the manager was and that he was the acting manager and didn't have a boss and that the manager reported directly to Kia Manufacturer and that Kia Manufacturer owned the dealership, etc. I called the manufacturer and they called the dealership parts department and were told the part was in. I called to make an appointment and was told that he would have someone call me in a few minutes but never received a call. I contacted the manufacturer again. They replied that they have filed a complaint and would escalate. Still nothing. Then I contacted the manufacturer again. They said that they spoke to someone and he would call me and if I did not receive a call within 24 hours, I should contact them again. No call for over 2 day. Then I contacted the manufacturer again. They again said they have filed a complaint. Then they asked me to tell them my availability and they would make the appointment. They replied back that they don't do recall work on Saturdays because they don't have a technician on Saturdays. Yet the first time I made the appointment, they took care of one of the items. All of a sudden I make complaints is service issues and they cannot do work on a Saturday? Even though the very first technician I spoke to in my first visit, I asked him if I could just buy the fuse and replace it, he said yes, it's easy, but if the dealership doesn't do it, it doesn't satisfy the requirements of recall. Now they are giving me a run around knowing that I cannot bring it in during weekday. If they were never open on a Saturday, I could understand, but the fact that they are purposely causing an inconvenience to ensure the work doesn't get done. read more

My initial review will only discuss the car buying experience as I have not yet dealt with the service side of the house. I've been through multiple buying experiences now (both new and used), and can honestly say that Kia Country was by far the most relaxed and easy process I've dealt with. Located off the corner of Northgate/Main Street, the dealership is a little unassuming but I assure you it's worth a stop. I went onto the lot that day with no expectation of leaving with a vehicle. I was in the process of evaluating different EV options and wanted to see an EV6 in person just to see if I liked it as much in real life as I did from the website. A great guy by the name of Justin greeted me and was very chill the entire time. Never pushed me to do anything and just offered to let me check out the full options the car had. I was up front about the fact that I had a certain price point in mind and had time to wait since I had a perfectly good running vehicle and he was very understanding and respectful of that. After the test drive, Justin naturally wanted to gauge my interest in the car and see if there was any chance I would buy it. I told him it would be extremely slim, but after some easy discussions (no forcefulness whatsoever on either side) their staff managed to hit my price point which I honestly did not expect. I asked for some time to think it over and they respected that and gave me several hours to mull it over and run some numbers on my end. In the end, I ended up purchasing the vehicle as the offer was very strong on their end and I left with an EV6 that night. Justin was totally no-pressure the entire time and the sales manager (Joe) was equally as respectful. Honestly, I feel a little bad for Justin because of my indecisiveness and how long I took to finally make a decision, but that's a testament to his patience and understanding he displayed. The finance guy I worked with, Fernando, was very easy to work with too (also no pressure with the add-on stuff they have) and even spoke with another sales rep named David who was super nice as well. Honestly, not a bad interaction with any of the staff. They were all easy going, respectful, and friendly. I will be taking my car in this weekend to get a nice wash as it was night time when I finished the purchase and wasn't able to get a thorough washing that night, and I also noticed a valve stem cap missing on one tire so I'll get a chance to test the service department's level of service when I take it in this weekend and can send an update on that front. Overall, great initial experience and would highly recommend coming here. People leaving negative reviews for expensive service prices or markups need to realize that's the case at any dealership. Just remember, everything is negotiable so just because there's a big markup doesn't mean you need to pay it. That'd be like going to a garage sale and giving someone a negative review because they were asking too much for their leg lamp without even discussing the price. You have to do some work on your side if you want to end up with a satisfying experience. Keep up the great work, Kia Country. The customer service representatives are nice and courteous while you're there, but anytime you want/need anything when you are outside of the service shop don't expect anything. They told me that an item we were supposed to be getting replaced under warranty wasn't available for order due to national back order, however I was able to locate the part on the Kia website and saw that I was actually able to pay out of pocket and order the item. So they told us that they'd put the order on file and then they'd call us when the items came in to install them. Sure enough, MONTHS went by with no phone call. Went in for an oil change and they said they still haven't received anything, but there was nothing on our file saying that we had any issues (meaning they never documented it the first time and they just told us that in the service dept. just to make us happy during our visit). They did the same thing and told us that they'd put an order in and a note on file to call us when they receive them. Months again and no call back. Wife started having trouble with the car so we took it in again, and sure enough, the service advisor tells my wife, "Hey we noticed you needed these parts right here replaced so we went ahead and did it." THOSE WERE THE PARTS THAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO CALL US ABOUT WHENEVER THEH CAME IN!!!!! So once again, they are nice when you're there, but it seems as their motto for customer service is "Out of sight, out of mind" because when you're not at the dealership or in the service shop, they ain't worried about you, your vehicles, your Kia experience, or maintaining a positive level of customer service as a whole. Went in because we had seen a car online that we were interested in. Went for the test drive and decided to go ahead and get it. Once we sat down and started filling out the paperwork, we had overheard another interested in the same car and they went and test drive it. By the time we finished filling out our paperwork with the credit check, they had came back from the test drive and told them they had some cash to put down on the car. Our credit check was NEVER ran and we were put on hold by the managers for 30 MINUTES before even being told anything. An internet sales guy came and tried to talk us into putting money down meanwhile we can overhear the conversation these sales guys were having with these people with more cash down. We ended up just walking out without even being able to speak to a manager but the internet sales guy whom had NOTHING to do with us. Justin was amazing and very helpful and that's the ONLY reason why I'm giving this place the 2 stars. Wasted 2 hours at this place only to be put on the back burner. read more

Several weeks ago, we had another issue with our vehicle-this time a steering issue. Sadly this dealership is making business of recalls. If you bring or brought your call due to a recall take this up to consumers affairs for both the dealership and KIA. I am currently in the process of filling a law suit as well. This is the only way that I will get my money back and prevent anyone else from getting scammed. They do not communicate with you about anything unless you reach out to them and when you do contact them they have you jumping through hoops just to pass along a message and they still don't get back to you... My first horrible experience I dropped my car off and was promised a two week turn around period. While my car was on the lot my window was smashed over the weekend and they did not bother telling me until I contacted them for an update. The next time around i was promised another two week turn around period the two weeks were up and my specialist is no where to be found and the other specialist won't return my calls or give me any information on my vehicle. read more

‼DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE ‼ My husband dropped his car off for an oil change and when he picked it up he noticed scratches on the drivers side that were not there upon drop off. He called to report the issue and his calls were not answered for multiple days and when he finally got a hold of them he reported the issue and they stated that the scratches were "already there" "the paint is chipping away" ? First of all, the car paint is NOT chipping away in ANY part of the car so why would it be "chipping away" solely in that area ? Second, my husband drives his car every single day and would have most definitely noticed scratches of that size had they been there prior to dropping it off (again, the scratches are on the drivers side so they are easily noticeable to someone who gets in their car every single day). My husband talked to David on the phone and he refused to listen or acknowledge the damage that had been done! read more

I give one star simply because giving zero isn't an option. We went into this dealership today to look at a Sorento. To our surprise the car was marked up $4995 due to "supply and demand". They proceeded to tell us it was store policy to add the the mark up but then refused to show me any policy stating such. 3 months ago a drunk driver hit me head on, on the freeway. I was in a Kia Sorento at the time of the accident so now swear by Kia safety features. Because of that I've had several family members purchase a vehicle from this exact dealership. I'm basically a walking billboard for this dealership, telling people how great they were. But please for love of god go to literally any other dealership but the one here in Manteca. I was absolutely disgusted at the fact that they wouldn't even budge on $4995 mark up after I'd practically helped them get other sales. These people do not care about you. The ONLY care about the money. We actually ended up at another dealership and buying a Sorento SX Prestige XLine the same day and felt way better about doing so because they were as slimey as the guys in Manteca. Their behavior about money was gross. I get it's a dealership and they have to make money but doesn't a satisfied customer help bring more business by word of mouth? I couldn't even fathom purchasing the car here and allowing these guys to take the sale. read more

This is strictly for the service department! if there was an option for negative stars you found the place. Since the new management has come in it has really gone down hill in terms of customer care and satisfaction. They are here to get your hard earned money and that's it! This is the highest service cost in the area without heading over the Altimont. In speaking with the advisor I have never heard "recommended" more times in one conversation ever! These services are not all recommended by KIA and the products are not from KIA these are third party chemicals used to inflate services and fill the service departments pockets. Ask them to break down the ridiculous price for services! Also ask them to show you where it is written that KIA recommended these products...You won't get a fast answer and I wouldn't expect one at all that makes sense without a lot of run around. Want to speak with the manager Mikki ? Good luck it doesn't matter if it's 9AM or 4PM he is on lunch or a series of other excuses. I have never been contacted back and all calls are screened by the advisor.
