Many sections had been stained by pets and plants over the years when it had been covered by carpet. I don't believe that the floors had been refinished since the house was built in the 1960s. They did a great job refinishing the floors and replacing the stained slats while matching the color and randomness of the wood. He kept his schedule, informed us of the options beforehand, and when problems arose (like old boards that didn't look bad until after the sealer was applied), he just made sure that they were fixed. We had gotten several estimates and his was the most reasonable. So this year when we decided to install new matching hardwood in a room that didn't have hardwood, we called him and he came within a couple days to give us an estimate. We didn't bother getting other estimates, we just had him put us on his schedule. He and his crew came and installed the floor and finished it, and made it all fit with the preexisting flooring. Some defects did show up in a couple slats and he just came back and fixed them without any trouble. He made it all look right. We had him come back a couple months later after we had picked out some tile for the hearth extension and he installed the tile as well. We had an entirely positive experience with Rob Petit and his team, and I am happy to recommend them.

We have 2 tips that we think can take the business to the next level. There must be a clear understanding between both parties when doing the estimate. This will reduce the need for scope creep in the project. For projects that require cleaning up, you need to make sure there is a plan to remove the trash. You take it with you, or it needs to be bagged in contractor bags to be put out periodically with the trash. I wish your business the best. Company was hired to mitigate a leak in basement by washing and applying epoxy to a portion of…read morebasement wall. Contractor sub-contracted the work (without informing me know) and the sub-contractor damaged the walls by using incorrect pressure washer jet nozzle, ruining the foundation of house (knocked out mortar from foundation blocks). Brought this to their attention and they agreed this wasn't part of the original invoice, nor was it the intention. They told me to fix their mistake they must charge me an additional $900 on top of previously agreed upon price. This company does not do they work, they sub-contract it out. Your results will depend on who is available at the time to do the work. There are good reviews from people who have had good sub-contractors come in. There are also bad reviews from people who had bad sub-contractors come in. If a bad sub-contractor damages your property, it will become your financial responsibility to have it fixed.

We interviewed four contractors for this job and selected FR because Matt both listened carefully to us and also offered his own good ideas. They gave us a detailed and competitive estimate and we liked the idea that both owners of FR, Matt and Rich, would be onsite and doing a good part of the work themselves. As it turned out, they were simply excellent to work with at every stage of the process. FR is apparently a sought-after group and we waited about 4 months for them to start our project. During that time, Lindsay responded to our questions in a timely and friendly manner with detailed emails about what we should be doing in advance (e.g., selecting the tile, vanity, light fixtures etc.) and suggestions about which companies to check out in the area. Matt and Rich have assembled a group of skilled craftsmen who each are personable, hardworking and diligent. They arrived punctually at 9 am each day, worked steadily throughout the demolition, wiring, plumbing, drywalling, tiling, carpentry, painting and finishing touches. In the process, they took great care to protect our hallway tile, stairway and wood floors, kept things as tidy as possible, and cleaned up at the end of each day. As a result, we were able to stay in our house during the entire project. They completed the job in just over two weeks and it was impressive to watch how they coordinated the many different steps with a crew of 7. Matt oversaw the project, and also handled the plumbing, wiring, tiling, and more. He is particularly skilled at setting tile and did an artful job matching tile patterns on the floor and the tub surround. Rich built shelves in the bathroom and walk-in closet and they turned out beautifully with functional design and excellent craftsmanship. The team members were all easy to interact with and each showed great attention to detail and pride in their work. We've done a lot of house renovations (including 4 previous bathrooms) and it's clear to us that Falcon Renovations are at the top of their game. They do quality work, are as unintrusive as possible, listen carefully to your ideas and yet also have great suggestions, work well as a team and with other contractors, and clearly care about the quality of their work.
