This is my second time using Broughton Painting. Last time I left them a 5 star review. This time I'm leaving them a 4 star review. The difference: Last time I had my exterior painted and this time I had my home's interior painted. The Pros: * Tony as always was quick to respond and made it very convenient. I told him I was in a rush and he was able to start the job in just a day or two of me approving the cost estimates. * Tony quoted me a great price * The men did a thorough job and even painted a small hallway extra for me * They were very polite and very easy to work with * Great drywall touch up for the imperfections * The left the spare cans of paint with me for touch ups if something went wrong * They cleaned up any mess they made The Cons: * One of the guys who was there for 1 out of the 4 days was pretty bad. He broke or lost a few outlet covers and he definitely got a decent amount of paint on my cabinets instead of taping off the edged correctly * They ran a day over and it seems like they were trying to speed along. The last day they painted the most important room and I found drops of paint all over the carpet which stood out easily. I didn't take off a lot of stars for them because I bought special cleaner that helped dissolve it and with the use of a carpet steamer the paint for the most part came out or blended in (I was already planning on doing the carpets so it wasn't anything extra). Still it was a hassle that took me a couple extra hours to get the paint out. * I saw them painting over the rugs without tarps when doing things like edging * I had to point out and ask about the outlet covers missing/broken. In the end I just went to home depot and replaced them which was not a big issue. * I feel like they might have skipped some spots for painting if I didn't point it out, but they claimed they were going to get it eventually and they did it the last day. * They didn't tape the outlets and a lot of my outlets ended up covered in paint (which I could scratch off with my nail). Overall I'm glad at the quick speed and the price, but was slightly bothered by the little things. I'm not sure if I'd use them again for an interior or not if I had all the time in the world to shop around and it was strictly for painting (like I said they did a good job patching imperfections in the dry wall). read more

Broughton Painting came in to paint our one bedroom condo including the walls, ceilings and trim. Their work also included: patching all of the holes, repaired kitchen ceiling area where new light fixture has been installed, removed grease stains at kitchen area and removed moisture stains at bathroom ceilings/walls. The apartment is a rental unit that we own, and our tenants had just moved out so we were looking for quick turnaround in order to re-rent the unit. I called Tony a couple of weeks in advance, and we were able to schedule a time that was convenient for me the day after the tenants moved out so he could provide an estimate and advice on the work to be done. Tony was extremely professional and even worked with us on where we could save some costs (for example, not all of the ceilings needed to be painted). I was pleased with the estimate and his team was able to come in later that same week to do all of the work. They protected all of the surfaces prior to starting, and finished the whole project in less than 2 days. The entire apartment looks fantastic and refreshed. I will definitely use Broughton Painting for future projects both in the apartment and our house. They did an extremely thorough and good job. read more

After reading their Yelp review, I contacted Broughton online and after emailing them photos of the work I needed done, they provided me an estimate and we scheduled an appointment for the following week. They just left and I'm incredibly pleased by their work. They were clean and timely as well as reasonably priced. I had some drywall damage and cracks underneath a window and at the corner of a doorway from last year's earthquake. Additionally, I had some unidentified bumps on my bathroom ceiling I thought might be mildew. Tony arrived on time (8 am) and made the assessment. I left home and returned 2.5 hours to find everything looking beautiful. In addition to the repairs I requested, Tony also informed me about the mildew and what they did to remove it. They told me that if I had any issues with their work to just give them a call. Again, I was very happy with Broughton's work. Their attention to detail, straight-forwardness and trustworthiness are great and I will use them again as well as recommend them to anyone who needs paint repair services. read more

My wife and I hired Broughton Painting for our new home. We had a large job, which included a number of rooms where the previous owners let their kids run wild with paint. Tony and his team of Clayton and Jose meticulously and beautifully painted our home. Their expertise and level of detail around edges and fixtures were amazing. I also could not have met a better group of guys to work with. Tony and his team were extremely accommodating, professional, thorough, and friendly. What's almost equally amazing is in additional to doing a great job, they also did and outstanding job of cleaning up after themselves. That shouldn't be taken for granted. First and foremost you want a contractor to do a good job, but when you don't have go behind them makes it even better. Honestly, I could not have imagined having a better experience. We have a few other projects that we will get to eventually and will not hesitate to contact Tony again. I recommend Broughton Painting to anyone looking for a painting job big or small. I am very impressed and happy that I found Broughton Painting & Decorating Co. Tony came out and gave me a written estimate on company letterhead paper within a few hours. Because I was in a bit of a rush to get the house painted, he asked his crew if they were willing to work on a Sunday. They agreed! The team along with Tony arrived on time and ready to work. They marked each wall carefully before starting. They completely covered the working area and removed blinds in areas that they were painting. I felt comfortable leaving them alone and only returned a few times to check on the progress. These guys were in and out on the same day. They cleaned up after themselves and re-installed everything that they took down. The only error was that I had a small section in the bathroom that required an additional coat; however, Tony quickly scheduled a day/time to come back and fix. I am completely satisfied with the completed work and will be using them again for the rest of the house. read more

We've used Tony and his crew a few times now after reading Yelp reviews and he is by far one of the most professional and courteous contractors I've ever dealt with - and I've dealt with a lot. The first project we hired Broughton for was to repair a previous horrible paint job on our deck. Without us asking him to, Tony brought out a specialist from the paint manufacturer to look at our deck and assess the best course of action. The deck still looks great nearly two years later. We've since had them do some interior work and am very impressed with the attention to detail. I happen to be a designer so I am VERY particular when it comes to painting of my home so I haven't been blown away but the work is really good and he will definitely be my go to painter because of how professional and nice he is. We've used Broughton Painting for three different houses over the past 8 years. Each time, it was exactly what we had hoped for. His staff is prompt, friendly and super professional. Our latest project involved horizontal black and white stripes in a playroom and his team (despite a 100-plus year old house with an uneven ceiling) made them look incredible. I've never had so many people run into a room and say, "WOW" before. We had a bit of delay with our moving, and the BP team made it all work to ensure we were not stressed and could still move into a home with freshly painted walls. Broughton Painting (BP) is an amazing company!! Tony Broughton is one of the most professional people I have ever dealt with and the crew at Broughton Painting are very talented and skilled. We had recently moved in a new home and we had boxes and furniture everywhere, the BP team did a great job of covering everything and worked around several delivery men that came in and out during the job. Bob and his painting crew, especially Clayton, were an exceptional delight to have doing interior painting in our home. Their work is outstanding with attention to detail and desire for customer satisfaction. Their crew worked diligently and efficiently to paint an the entire first level of our home after a kitchen/ dining room renovation which included putting a fresh coat of paint on the other rooms on this floor! We hired Broughton Painting and Decorating to put a fresh coat of paint on our exterior wood siding and to paint a few hard-to-reach interior surfaces including our main staircase. They did a superb job and were very professional. I can't say enough about the quality and flexibility of Broughton Painting! I am the Director of a preschool and I can tell you that small children (and teachers!) can be tough on paint. Tony, the owner, worked closely with me to schedule time to come in that did not interrupt our program- even working long days over a weekend! As you might imagine there was a lot of furniture to move, many things hanging on the walls and quite a bit of dry wall patching that needed to happen. They did it all! Broughton Painting and Decorating did fabulous work on our townhouse. They painted three of our bedrooms, re-stained our deck and power washed our fence. Our bedrooms have vaulted ceilings, which would have been a challenge for us to paint. Broughton Painting brought the proper equipment to handle our vaulted ceilings and quickly and professionally handled the job. We have used Broughton Painting to refresh and beautify our historic home since we bought it in 2006. They have painted all of the rooms in our home, including our ceilings. We found Broughton Painting through a Yelp review, as we were looking for someone to help us prepare our house for resale. The owner met us as the house to review the requested work, and provided a written estimate a few days later. These guys are not cheap, but they did great work. Over the course of several weeks (we were not in a hurry), they repainted the entire interior, power washed the exterior, repainted our deck, and did some minor woodworking repairs for us. Having painted most of the interior of our house ourselves, there were some tricky spots that I wanted a professional for. We hired Broughton Painting to paint the upstairs rooms, which included a very high stairwell and a bedroom with vaulted ceilings. I retired from the federal government and sold my condo in Gaithersburg, MD. I had to move before the paint job, so my real estate agent had to oversee the work. I needed to replace carpeting and it had to be done in stages. Remove old carpet, do painting, then install new carpeting. My wife and I just moved into a new house in Ellicott City...and Tony and his crew came over to paint our garage and foyer/upstairs hallway. How they painted the high walls and ceilings so neatly...I have no idea. Our foyer has a 20+ foot ceiling! They even fixed a few nail pops.
