Messaged a few contractors here on Yelp for last minute projects we were looking to get done before we rented out our townhome, and Jose from Hernandez Contracting was the first to respond to my message. He was able to come by our place on the same day for an in-person quote and after deciding that we wanted to work with him, he was at our place ready to work the very next morning! He said he was able to come by to start work at 9am the next morning, but he was there not only on time but a bit earlier by around 8:30am! We had started off with 3 projects for him, which he quoted us for, but I ended up asking him if he could do more little projects, and he was able to take on anything we asked of him. He's awesome, he was even so respectful to take off his shoes when he worked inside our home. The projects he was able to complete for us was: 1) carpentry work in our garage (to secure some previous work done before we bought our townhouse, there were some unsecured wooden pillars barely holding up a wooden built-in storage shelf). Jose even told us how he would make it even more secure by adding more pillars where it would hold more weight on the shelf and be more secure; 2) filled up a hole in our wall, he was able to patch it up with drywall and matched the exact paint and by the time he was done and paint dried, you would never have known it was there! 3) he installed a new storm door for us, our previous storm door had a broken door handle, and Jose was able to install a brand new storm door that we had purchased, he even made sure that the storm door we bought was the correct measurement. 4) Jose installed new hardware on our kitchen cabinet doors, they were all aligned! He took the project off our hands. 5) upon request he was able to fix our closet door that wasn't aligned properly, so it didn't shut! When we bought the house it was like that, Jose fixed it! 6) he glued & aligned some wooden pieces coming off that were framing our attic crawl space. 7) he went above and beyond to find some new window screens that we couldn't locate locally, so he drove to another state to look for it the very same day! He wasn't able to locate it, so he ordered the correct sized window screens and installed them as soon as he could after it came in the mail! He was able to get most of the work done in just 2 days! Minus the window installation, which was done as soon as possible, once he special ordered it and after it arrived! His preferred payment method is through Zelle. Jose is an amazing handyman! He is punctual, very reliable, kept his word when he said he would come by and do our projects, and did great work in a timely manner. Great work pressure washing and painting the lower wall on the exterior of the house. My attempt to wash myself only removed so much. I needed a pro and I found one. Super nice guy. Fixed my mailbox as a bonus. I have great b4 and after pics. read more

I have worked with many contractors in past, from house siding, floor re finishing, porch rebuild, and plumbing. Jose Hernandez Contracting is the best and I will contact him first for any job. I wish all the contractors were like him. Completely professional and does excellent work. Yes, I would definitely hire him again & again ,When I was looking for a quote, multiple contractors called but only Mr. Hernandez showed up. Handyman company showed up but never came back or called or anything. The other contractors ALWAYS never complete or quality control their work. The job. The previous home owner left the windows leak and termites and ants destroyed the 2 SIL pates (the board the house sits on top the cement blocks 25 Ft.) two floor cross members, reinforced the floor boards, boards around the windows, replaced a window, (cheap double plane window actually froze up and exploded), replaced drywall, and painted. Jose and his team helped us with a ceiling crack repaint/repair and also found a major structural issue with our kitchen floor. Both projects were explained thoroughly and handled very quickly.
