I was visiting from out of town a few months ago and have debated back on forth on whether or not I should leave this review. After many great threading experiences since then, I've decided that I should warn anyone else coming here to save their money. I'm not sure if the person who threaded my eyebrows was new (she didn't indicate a lack of experience), or was just unskilled. I also don't remember her name (I can only say that she was a blonde white woman). The first thing I noticed was that she didn't handle the thread in a way that indicated she had been doing threading for very long. The thread kept breaking and I could tell based on how long it took that something felt off, but I couldn't tell until I looked in the mirror, and by the. The damage was done. I then told her I wanted to keep my eyebrows thick (which I said in the beginning), and I was clearly unhappy- which is probably why the second eyebrow looks slightly different. As you can see from the photos, she did a terrible job. I would absolutely not recommend visiting this salon if you have naturally thick eyebrows because they'll hack away at them, not shape them in any attractive way. I had to go to ulta right away to buy an eyebrow pencil to try to make the best of the shape I was left. If you have thin eyebrows and only need them to draw them in, it seems like they do a good job, but that wasn't my experience at all. read more

BEST BROW EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! The brow specialist I worked with, Jaylanese, was everything!!!! She really has a craft for her work, I LEGIT felt no pain when she was threading my brows (and usually threading HURTSSSS). Ladies are super nice I enjoyed the laughs and convos but I came got my lashes done they were very beautiful but didn't last long. Then I came back and had one of the ladies do a root touch up and gloss gave her the exact formula my regular hair stylist gave me that did my hair for years. She said she cajole do no problem well I walked out with way lighter roots and no gloss my hair looked so bad I kept a hat on till I found someone who knows what they are doing. On 11/23/2021 At 3:30pm I went to this establishment to get my hair done. I asked for a balayage and showed an exact photo I would like it to be done like. I told the lady I was getting this done for my wedding and I want my hair to be down to my hip for it. She did the "balayage" and cut my hair 6inches shorter after asking for just a trim. It was approximately 8:40 at this time and I was sent out of the salon with wet hair because she "did not have time to dry and style it" I got home and dried and styled it and it was so short and so disgusting, I was appalled.. I called back and asked for a refund at 10:00 am the next day. I went in to get my refund after constant run around from the unprofessional owner, I asked to see the licensing of the lady that did my hair. The owner snatched the licensing and hid it under her shirt for unknown reasons. I continued to attempt to make an appointment to fix my hair and the owner begun raising her voice and threatening to call the police. I was in fear for my safety so I stepped outside and called the police myself. read more

Wow! Life changing experience from Kelly at Brow A Beauty. I usually go to the stand in Jacksonville mall for my threading services but today I really didn't feel like fighting to find a park then having to walk all over the mall to get to my destination so I decided to try the brow place across the street from the mall. Best decision ever! Kelly really took her time shaping and cleaning my brows up. I don't think they've ever looked this good without me filling them in. First off the pros: Great website! Easy online appointment app. Clean & neat atmosphere. They have a ton of options to choose from and prices are good! Con: I made an appointment for my eyebrows with Heather. I did not receive my service from Heather. My stylist did not introduce herself to me. I tried to make small talk, as this was my first time here. She didn't engage, so I stopped. I did inform her my brows were REALLY bad. She took a look and got started. She didn't do a bad job, but there was some wax left on one eye, there was also a very small bit on my eyelashes and my eyelash line. After completing, she handed me the mirror and told me to take a look. My eyebrows looked way better then when I walked in, however at closer look in my car, I noticed the wax and that the shape a bit weird. (Took too much off top, and not enough arch) I probably should have gone back in, but I didn't. I will probably give this business another shot as I really try to support local, small businesses. There are a few other services I'd like to try as well. I just think if you make an appointment, which is a requirement right now, you should get who you made that said appointment with. If for some reason they aren't available, I understand things happen, you should be made aware of it. Being in customer service is sometimes hard, I know, but you must be friendly and engage in at least a little conversation, especially if it is the first time for someone. I'd probably give closer to 3.5 stars, but 1/2 stars are not an option. read more

DO NOT RISK THIS PLACE! I walked in with a girlfriend yesterday I got my eyebrows threaded she got hers waxed we both ended up crying in the car. I walked in with three months worth of hair on my eyebrows. My eyebrows don't even match each other one is rounded while the other is arched. I would consider the place decent if my eyebrows matched. The young lady made them thin even though I had lots of hair I cried & cried. As for my girlfriend the lady who waxed her shortened her whole eyebrow it no longer reaches the end of her eyelid. *Long review* A few years back I didn't have the best experience but this is NOT because of the salon it was because of who was working there at the time. I'm so glad I gave this place another shot, even after my experience last time, management still credited me from something TWO YEARS AGO that was honestly just so sweet of them. I got a lash lift from Kylie and have never been so happy with the results, they are the perfect amount of lift and curl, She was so sweet through out the entire treatment, she asked constantly if there was any burning or issues (there weren't) which made me feel super taken care of and comfortable. I will absolutely be coming back for the rest of the time I'm in Jacksonville, I honestly wish I could give a higher rating than 5 stars. I've been in here a few times but I've finally found the one!!! Kylie is amazing at threading. I came in with full eyebrows that I wasn't loving and asked her to make it look nice. I told her I wanted it shaped and not too thin and she delivered. I'm not saying the other girls before her weren't good at what they did because they obviously knew what they were doing but Kylie really made me love my eyebrows again. When it comes to eyebrow threading in Jacksonville NC you really don't have too many options.. However if there were 50 shops around I'd still choose this one to go to. The employees are kind, the shop is clean, and they are almost always available to squeeze you in for threading. They offer many services there but threading is all I need. Did I mention they had Pastries available today for the customers? But there is not free wifi as advertised and I got strip lashes done and they lifted with in 3 minutes of leaving the saLon. They tried to convince me that strip lashes are not a guarantee wear. ***long review but must read*** *save your money!* I had went in for lash refills because I had a horrible job done from another technician from another salon. Brow A Beauty Boutique manager(Heather) and tech (Rheanon) had Recommended that I start fresh because they did not have any curl lashes and what I had on were D Curls. It cost me $20 to get them removed. My Rheanon was very sweet but I think she was very inexperienced with lash extensions. From my other experiences of getting my lash extensions the techs would use a tweezer to apply the lash and another to separate my natural lashes from touching what is getting applied. She did not do that but instead used her fingers from the other hand to hold the lashes back. From the start of the appointment she did not ask me what kind of style I was going for such as doll, glamour, cat eyes, and etc. I really wanted a full curl look and so she suggested clusters. Which they were not the clusters I thought they would be and have had on before. The glue got stuck to my other lashes and she would have to pluck my lashes out. From what I've been told by other lash techs that's a big NO-NO because it'll cause damage to the lash follicles. She was also TRIMMING the lash extensions as well to get the length even. The thought in my head was thinking that would just look chopped. I was about done by then because my lid was getting irritated. And I told her I don't want it done anymore and this was only with one eye. Then she tried to remove it and it wouldn't come off. The manager, Heather came in and told me they looked great but it was not. She then further told me I would have to pay for at least a partial plus the removal which all cost me $90. They allowed me to walk out with one eye half done and paid that amount. She did try to charge me the full price of $170 so that I would return but I told her I'll have to look at my schedule because I have 4 kids and need to make babysitting arrangements. The worse $90 spent in my life and my eyes are left uneven and sore. I also, had made appointments for eyebrows and lip threading with Kelley but I just cancelled it. I was in pain and couldn't handle another disappointment. The whole experience was all bad. Rheanon had me looked at the lash she had to pull off because it wasn't sitting right and I looked and turned my head and had spilt the entire tray of lashes (I am really hoping they will throw those away instead of trying to salvage them. They were not picked up and put in the trash while I was there so who knows). Then as I walked out of the room her light post tipped over and just knocked her whole work station over. I mean talk about bad experience and Friday the 13th for both the tech and I. I was really hoping I would get great service because of all the hyped up review I had read. I will never return or recommend this place. They are over priced and not up-to-date with at least eyelash extensions and their technique of threading (I was watching a client get her eyebrows threaded) is not the same as my experience in San Diego which was amazing. read more

This place was a lucky find. Walked in one day out of frustration and stumbled upon quite the treat. It started out with just eyebrows. Waxing or threading, go see Kylie. She has great attention to detail. It was during this service that I learned they also cut men's hair. If you want the best medium fade, go see Katie and you won't be disappointed! Ive been searching for my set eyebrow chick for months since mine moved but I have FINALLY found her! Jocelyn is such a sweetie & really takes her time. I was super surprised to see she used a new stick every time she dipped for wax, which most people dont know but salons should be doing - for health and sanitation purposes. Do not even risk it! I got my brows threaded today and two different people had to work on them. I let them grow out for two months so there was a lot to work with they should have came out beautifully. I am very disappointed. Today was a big day for me and it was important my eye brows looked good! They were very friendly about it and offered to tint them for me which was nice. They did care that I didn't like them so that was a plus.. I would say customer service wise they are good people. As far as quality goes I can't say the same. If you have thinner eye brows that are very easily shaped I see how they could potentially do a good job. But if you are extremely picky DO NOT go here. You will not like the outcome. UPDATE: The owner has connected me a couple of times trying to make it better. They are extremely caring about the situation. I think they really want to make it right. They have offered me a few services but I have no time to go in. The more the days goes on I realize my eye brows aren't as terrible as I thought. So again I will say if you aren't super picky this place is fine to go to they do good eye brows. But if you are very very picky and expect perfection than I do not recommend this place at the moment for eye brows. With that being said of course people make mistakes . Some people have off days. Where I use to live I got my eye brows done faithfully by this lady and she was amazing every time except for this one time that she messed up. I was very disappointed but even somebody as incredible at eye brows as her messed up. I do believe this place could potentially do some great eye brows. I have not been to Brow yet, but I have had my brows done by Caitlyn. I had little to no brows and spent a significant amount of time creating the illusion of brows every morning. I had been considering getting my eyebrows microbladed for some time but was reluctant because I was not impressed with the work I had been seeing in the jacksonville area but I then met Caitlyn and saw her work. I put my trust into her hands and made an appointment. The process was very thorough but the atmosphere and energy in the room was very calming and relaxing. I could appreciate how meticulous she was with each individual stroke she made on my face while she also did a great job communicating with me. She routinely asked if I needed more numbing cream or if there was anything else she could do to make me comfortable. The process was about three hours but well worth it. I have eyebrows now that require minimal maintenance. I haven't had the opportunity to get a touch up because of Covid and now I'm pregnant but I still love my eyebrows and the work she put in on them.
