But when i mentioned the finger nail peels n showed them to her, Annie's face (the owner) changed from :) to :( i told her that im no expert but i think it was incorrect to file the edges after the top coat was applied because top coat seals everything n prevents peeling. Close to the final stage of top of the line pedicure, Annie came up to the chair armed with the nail lamp n stripper. She stripped the affected peeled parts only. Then she applied the dust n applied lamp heat. U can still see the peels under the poor excuse of rectifications. Half ass done to a $60 manicure. I tip very well for my vanity privileges. I also recalled having my nails done at the pedicure chair when i wanted a regular polish. When fingernails are shaped n painted while in a pedicure chair, it doesnt give good results. When u are a service business, u will get unsatisfied customers. Practice giving sincere apologies even if u question in your mind that the customer may have caused the bad nail polish results. Annie doesnt apologize. U see her :) when customers arent troublesome. I guarantee u that no one wants to b troublesome but i paid for top of the line pedicure AND manicure. I expect the BEST. DEFINITELY WONT GO BACK. No loss to her im sure.

The second time I tried to let them make it right and they first told me that they couldn't even see what the problem was, even though in these photos you can tell how obviously bad they look (this photo was taken AFTER I went back in and honestly I think they somehow made it worse!) Then they told me that a clear polish will always have "dust" specs in it. Which is definitely not true because I've had plenty of French manicures in my life and literally never had this happen. And also tried to blame it on the fact that I had my nails done "awhile ago," despite the fact that I noticed this issue two days after I first got them done. The owner and nail tech were incredibly rude, and though they were speaking in another language, body language speaks volumes. Their solution? Slap another clear coat over it and call it a day. After the nail tech finished "fixing" my nails, he walked out without saying anything. What they should have done? Apologized, completely removed the polish, had me WASH my hands (to get rid of the dust, duh!) and redid the clear coat or offered to do a solid color if that's their only solution to cover up shoddy work. Instead they were rude and lazy. I will never go back here and I will make sure that all my friends know not to waste their money here!

She obviously can't take criticism, and will resort to harassment if she doesn't agree with your review. I have talked to other Yelpers who have had the same experience. This is completely unacceptable from ANY business owner or person. If I didn't like this place before, I absolutely HATE it now. Save your money for one of the MUCH better and much more professional nail salons in Des Moines. This place is a joke. Yeah, I gave this place another shot and I just can't do it. The first time I came, the woman doing my nails seemed really peeved and annoyed. She was very aggressive with how she did my nails, and when she waxed my eyebrows (which are naturally thick) she kept pointing out how thick they were. I told her that's how I liked them, and would just like a little clean up. Instead she made them INCREDIBLY thin, and not to mention uneven. I've never had such a bad eyebrow wax in my life! The manager was actually nice this time and kept his inappropriate comments to himself, so I felt a little bit better coming back. But I did have the same nail lady. Even more rude, even more aggressive, and even more nasty than the first time. I asked her if I could look at the gel colors. She threw the basket at me then started telling me to pick from the selection she had at her desk... Um, can't you just get up and grab the color I actually want? I don't recommend coming here at all. I am a very loyal customer when I receive good service, but I think this was my last time here.
