The owner was walking around chatting it up with everyone. My base application for my nail was good, the color I picked out looks like what I got. I wish I'd picked a little darker. I asked for almond shape like the picture and I did end up having to fix it a little bit afterwards. The pic I have here is right after I left the salon. The nail tech was struggling with the design though. I think it had more to do with the consistency of the gel polish than her skills because the heart came out great. She tried multiple gold glitter polishes and communicated to me about what was wrong and what I wanted. Looking back, I probably should've just done white like the heart. The end result was the line is too thick and some of the edges are smeared. In the pic you can kind of tell on the thumb there. I think that's just the unfortunate result of too much product under a uv lamp. It'll just move and melt in places you don't want it to be. It's been two weeks now and my nails are all still intact. Might try a few other places before I commit to this spot~

For reference, I always get a dip manicure and gel pedicure. Here is what I like: - I make an appointment (usually 1-3 days ahead of time). I show up and they start working on my nails right away. No waiting. - They offer complimentary beverage service. - They have an INCREDIBLE selection of colors to choose from. - My nails always look fire and always hold up very well. - The nail techs always get my nails done in a timely fashion. If I am getting both services done, I am usually out of there in 1.5-2 hours. If I am getting one service done, it's usually about 45 minutes.   The only thing that I wish they could do is work on my fingers and toes at the same time. I'm all about efficiency and as much as I would love to just unwind and sit in the nail salon for hours at a time, the reality is I usually need to get in and out of there as quickly as possible. Other than that, this place is great. I cannot recommend Tipsy Nails enough! Definitely the best nail salon I've been to in the Des Moines metro.
