Nothing seemed to work, so I went "out of network" to Dr. Mandel's office in Plantation, which had been recommended to me. And I'm very glad that I did! Dr. Mandel is highly skilled, compassionate person and offers individual treatment plans to suit his patient's needs. His staff is exceptional, professional and friendly (in-take, reception, PAs and managers - all). The office is well run and they are responsive your your questions and calls. I arrived early and let the front desk know I would return closer to my scheduled time. I was encouraged to complete paperwork and was checked in at 11:11 AM, with the explanation that I might be called early. There is no cell phone signal inside the building, which makes it difficult to step away or use your phone while waiting. Despite being told I might be seen early, I was not called back until 1:25 PM, close to my original appointment time. When I finally saw the doctor, I did not feel that the visit provided meaningful direction or solutions for my concerns. The interaction felt brief and unproductive, and I left feeling that my time had not been well used. I understand that medical offices can run behind schedule, but clearer communication and more thorough patient engagement would improve the overall experience.
