All I know is I felt like I was at my cousin's house and they happened to have animals. There were no directions or explanations...until it came time to pay. Now that part was explained perfectly. Honestly, I probably could have seen the same thing at my local shelter and saved $30. I'm hoping the money goes toward helping the animals, but it's really hard to tell. They have goats, plenty of birds, llamas, pigs, and horses. I wouldn't call it a true petting zoo because most of the petting is done through a gate. If you want a horse ride, you have to ask. No one offers or tells you about it. Everything looked like it could use some updating or repairs, and the overall vibe from most of the staff was, "Please hurry up so we can get back to what we were doing." A couple of employees were pleasant and helpful, but they weren't going above and beyond. They simply gave us what we asked for. Overall, I probably won't be back. At least my $30 went toward helping the animals...I hope.

There are no hazards in the entrance, the ranch provides volunteers with water but we all bring our own food. Taking care of 60+ animals, as anyone can imagine, is quite expensive and this charitable organization focuses all of their funding on ensuring the animals are fed, sheltered, physically cared for including teeth cleaning, shodding, and regular medical care. All volunteers are welcome and work in whatever capacity they are comfortable with. Please come out and see for yourself. You will be so glad you did!

They have the personalities of each animal resident down pat! We had a great time providing care for the animals and their habitats, feeding treats, and getting my finger gripped by a cute little opossum. If you ever find an injured wild animal, call them! If it's after hours, it's ok to drop them off in one of the special cages outside the front gate!

When wanting to add another fur baby to our family, I started to search rescues for a pup. I found a cute little ball of fluff on Animal Aid's website and arranged a meet and greet and also checked out the other pups there. (They also have cats for fans of felines). The adoption price includes all shots, spay/neuter and a box of flea/tick/heartworm meds. If you already have your four pawed furball, they also provide low-cost spay/neuter services. As a not-for-profit rescue, donations, volunteers, and animal adoptions help save lives of pets that would otherwise face a bleak future, if a future at all. If you are interested in adopting, complete an adoption form online and once approved, either make an appointment to see your next companion. As a heads up, the location is small, so an appointment may be your best bet.
