This Cemetery is located out off North Us 41, in Floral City (Sumter County) amid sturdy Florida Scrub oaks beset with strings of Spanish Moss. The setting is quite lovely for this warm December afternoon, the cycadias chirp as I wander through the graves, taking note of the long gone and the recently departed. It was established in 1884 by Mr Phiel, and still has internments today, but they seem to have tapered off somewhat. This is a true memorial garden, one where headstones rise above the earth, some tall, in granite edifice, stately in their moss dressing. Others smaller, squat in comparison, but newer in their polished faces, with their clean fonts and sedate carvings of Jesus at the mount or "gone to camp" The one thing to know for sure is that this is an active cemetery, people still come to visit their dead. There are recent offerings of poinsettia plants and Christmas wreaths, not the miasma of strewn and tossed flowers left to moulder and rot amid lost graves. I liked this place, it was perfectly serene atop a rare, rolling hill in Florida.

I was told they would be moving the shop to their home. Last week i stopped at the original shop and was told by a neighboring shop that she thought they were closed and would reopen Feb. 1st. I have not had any communication from Council Upholstery at all in all this time. I am now concerned.
