I see that there are great reviews on here but I can't say I agree with the great reviews because I requested a free consultation to help me with some information on a matter I needed advice for. I know attorneys are not cheap and there are many people requesting advice especially if it is free, but don't offer free advice and not return the call. I sent brief and detailed information so I could speak to an attorney but DID NOT receive a call back. I even called the office and the receptionist who basically rushed me off the phone said my information was received and that some would contact me shortly after being with clients. This was days ago. If you offer a service and a potential client is requesting advice at least keep your word and call them back. I would like to be one of those who give you guys 5 stars. I have always erred on the side of caution and have always respected the letter of the Law. Apart from the regular minor traffic infractions, I have always been a law-abiding citizen. Not in my wildest dreams did I think that one day I would be facing the heavy weight of the justice system. The last two years have just been that: a wild ride for me. They felt foreign to me and to my nature. It felt like I have lost control of my life as I was facing some serious charges with serious jail time. The judicial system is a behemoth. A labyrinth. A maze that is hard to escape from. Once you are in it, you are no more a human. You are simply a number. A pawn that gets moved without her consent. If God forbid you end up in "the system", you will need all the help you can get. And this begins with a capable counselor. I emphasize the word capable, because I believe it is the most important quality in a lawyer. Capable attorneys usually have all other necessary qualities like candor and integrity. My first interaction with Mary came when I called her to represent me for a misdemeanor case. I have done a lot of research and I chose her mainly because of her background and long experience with the Clark County District Attorney's Office. From my first interview with her, I could tell this lady knows what she is talking about. My expectations were quickly confirmed as she got me off a house-arrest situation that was ordered by an overzealous judge. I have never dealt with the justice system before this and house-arrest was one of the worst punishments I've ever experienced. I could go nowhere, and all of my family was out of state, so I spent days by myself hooked to the wall with the monitor's charging cable. A sort of a leach. So when Mary took me off of this miserable situation, it was already a great victory. Mary also represented me on a more serious charge few months later. I was arrested one Friday and had bail set up to be paid by a different attorney's office who was representing me in a civil case. I was set to be released the following Saturday morning. On my way out the door, literally while signing the release papers, I was shocked to be brought back to the holding cell. Nobody told me why? I couldn't understand. I had to change my clothes and go back to jail. Later I discovered that some other judge tripled my bail amount. The attorney that was handling the bail for me was not available until the following Monday. After many calls, we set up to pay the new amount and I was set to be released on Tuesday. Nonetheless the same situation occurred, I walked downstairs just to be brought back. The new reason, they mistakenly filed the charges twice. So now I had to go in front of a judge to clear up this mess before I could be released. But it was a holiday, so I had to wait until Friday. And the worst, is that the bail amount for the new case was much, much higher. This is what I mean by the criminal justice system being a maze that can swallow you and forget about you. When I was inside, I met people who were waiting for their cases to be processed for four, six, ten months. This is while being presumed innocent. For the first time in my life, I felt powerless. For the first time in my life, I lost hope. For the first time in my life, I was scared. While sitting there thinking about my predicament, I remembered how Mary got me off house arrest the first time around. How she had a commanding presence in the courthouse. How she knew almost everyone in there, from the Judge to the clerks, to the prosecution team. So I called her, and although it was a holiday, she answered my call and was there to discuss the case with me. She asked me to give her the chance to make few phone calls. Later, she informed me that she will send somebody to represent me on Friday as she had previous arrangements with another client. And for the first time in seven days I could finally sleep. I could sleep because I knew that Mary Brown was on my side now. Furthermore, with Mary, not only do you get a great knowledgeable legal mind, but you get two. Indeed, Philip and Mary are husband and wife, and Philip is also a former prosecutor with the Clark County District Attorney's Office. Philip, whom I've had the pleasure to meet, has told me that the two of them discuss the best strategies to defend their clients all the time, at the office and at home. What could clients ask for better than to have their attorneys discussing the best way to help them, and solve their cases 24/7? Now I was released that same Friday and Once released, Mary fought hard for me. She gave me directions about certain things to do to look favorable in the eyes of the court.
