Dr. Brown and all the nurses at Brown Retina Institute are a blessing to San Antonio and the surrounding areas. I have been seeing Dr Brown for over 5 years and have never had a problem. Sure you may wait a little longer but keep in mind Dr Brown is meticulous with his patients and at times emergencies happen. I don't mind waiting a bit longer because I know Dr Brown is busy saving someones eye sight. read more

My husband went to Dr. Brown for years with Macular Degeneration. I go there also. Dr. Brown is the very best in the Central and South Texas area. Only foolish people complain about waiting. One has to wait for a specialist who is in such high demand. The wait won't kill anyone, and they are very thorough with each patient. I have been going there for the past two years and have not had more than a 20 min. wait before they dilate. read more

Never on time, make you 45 minutes after your appointment time. Patients are over booked, standing inside and out because of inadequate waiting room. Horrible! read more

I. Brought my father for an appointment. As I waited the car for him to check in I saw patients waiting in their cars and some inside. Unfortunately they allowed other people, not patients, to enter and some without masks. Their protocol sign on the door required masks but the personnel seemed not to enforce the policy. I'm not sure if they even check the patient's temperature. Based on this experience I do not feel this practice has their patient's best health interest in mind in these COVID times. read more

Staff is amazing and Dr. Brown is the best! I'm so grateful that they recommended me Dr. Brown. After several doctors didn't know what I had Dr. Brown was able to find out the problem and help me not to lose my eye sight. I'm from Brownsville and I just go to San Antonio to see him. This Dr.double books which is not a Dr you want to go to cuz it's all about greed.My mom had an appointment at 6:30 and it's after 8 pm and we are still here and my mom is 85 yrs.old and my dad's caretaker.I would not recommend this Dr office, find another one.Other new patients were complaining also. My father has been going to Dr. Brown for several years for injections to treat his Macular Degeneration. He must be the only retina specialist around as evidenced by his overcrowded waiting room and 2-3 hour wait. Dad rescheduled his appointment yesterday after seeing others who'd been waiting for hours after their appointed time to be called. I'm looking for a better alternative. read more

Came in LAST WEEK to get one simple thing done. I needed to get clinical records signed off on by a doctor. After getting hung up on the first time after about 5 minutes, I then called back and was on hold for another 15 minutes, after which I was hung up on...AGAIN ! When I was able to finally speak to someone, I was told that office manager wasn't due in until this afternoon and that she'd see if doctor could sign off on the records I needed, then. Why does it take almost a full week to get one simple task done? A signature and that was all I needed for a week ! read more
