After months of my doctor sending medical information and trying to contact Dr marten and no response I decided to go in person to see her. My surgery with my doctor was being delayed by weeks while waiting for a response from Dr Marten and time for my surgery was running out. After a long wait I was finally taken back to the examination area where the staff insisted on dilating my eyes and putting me through all the "new patient" protocols, I could NOT make them understand I was not a "new patient" and was there for a consultation. The male tech was such a BULLY that I was forced to get the dilation ! When I got to the exam room I was informed that DR Marten wasn't even there that day! A nice young doctor finally came in and I told him what had happened he apologized profusely , they had FINALLY found the correspondence from MY doctor!! He didn't charge me for the visit, I was left to drive home,80 miles, with my eyes dilated. I didn't know where I was as I don't live in San Antonio . I'm 70 years old and thank goodness for my cars navigation or I never would have blindly found my way to the interstate. They didn't even offer to help me down the stairs to get me to my car! I was terrified driving the long distance home. I never got the consultation. Although the doctors are lovely and seem most competent I cannot recommend this office due to the abusive staff.

I am so glad that I came in because now I am seeing so good after my Cataract surgery. They let me do both eyes at the same time and that's what sold me. From the front desk, to the scheduling, nurses and even the people in the back it was amazing. By the grace of God the surgery went great and I barely realized I was even having the surgery. A day after my Cataract Surgery and I am seeing amazing. I was in shock when I read the papers at my follow up appointment. He was easily bothered by questions and it almost felt like we were dealing with an Ai robot. He was very cold almost to the point of being rude. My wife received an injection in her eye. He didn't prepare her what to expect when receiving the injection. That's why when he injected directly into her eye she jerked. He not only got upset with her for jerking, he asked the most ridiculous question. He asked "What's wrong " she explained that he hurt her. My wife said afterward that if he had prepared her for what to expect then she wouldn't have jerked the way she did. You can have all the education in the world but it still can't teach you to be compassionate. Compassion really comes from the heart. You can also tell by the way he speaks to his nurses. Hopefully he realizes soon that being a doctor doesn't make you better than everyone else it just provides you the opportunity to make people's lives better

This year, we decided to make a change and try Stone Oak Vision Source located on Stone Oak Pkwy and Hardy Oak. We were able to secure two consecutive appointment slots, which was super convenient since we wouldn't have to make two separate visits. TLDR: I think we've finally found our new place for eye care! The staff was helpful and knowledgeable, getting all of our insurance benefits and allowances to be able to accurately explain our options and costs, even providing us with rebate options that could be applied. From checking in to administering the basic scans and tests. Everything went smoothly and swiftly. Our visit with Dr Mann went very well. Very thorough and knowledgeable, and he explained everything clearly. They have a nice selection of glasses to choose from. My husband found several pairs that looked great, so he ordered more than one pair. For me, I would have liked to see more variety in style. It seemed that there were many great brands, but the styles were very similar between them and I had less luck than my husband in that regard. However, they were able to simply replace the lenses in a pair I already have and love! Very happy with the entire experience and will definitely use Dr Mann going forward.

I really like this Clinic and I especially liked Dr. Ashley Atencio, she really knew what she was talking about and she did some things during the exam that I've never had another optometrist do in my 40+ years of going to the optometrist. I felt like the exam was thorough and she wrote the best prescription I probably have ever had and she was super nice. I definitely recommend this place and I will definitely be going back.

First, the office itself is beautiful and welcoming. You're greeted by friendly, smiling faces, and they even have snacks and drinks available in the lobby. We had our toddler and newborn with us, but worry not! They had a kid-sized chair and table where our son was able to color, play with toys, and watch shows on his tablet while waiting. The actual eye exam with Dr. Atencio was eye-opening (pun intended)! I've been getting my eyes checked annually for probably the last 30 years, and they have machines and instruments in their clinic that I've never seen before. Best of all, Dr. Atencio is professional, caring, knowledgeable, and really takes the time to educate and inform. She explained everything she was doing, what each machine was looking for, and even showed me just what she was talking about. To be honest, I've always found eyeballs (mine included) to be a little gnarly, but the images she took and her explanation of them were really cool. And best of all, I walked away with a better understanding of my vision health. We look forward to being longtime customers and definitely recommend them for all your eyecare needs.
