One thing to note is that you have to be wait to be seated when you enter, even if it looks empty, wait for the smartly dressed staff to guide you to your table. One thing that will stick in my mind about The Albany is the tiny tables and the giant glasses. Let me explain, the table we were seated at was incredibly small and we had a lot on out table. Secondly the Bellini's are served in the tallest, most classy flutes you will have ever seen. The food was excellent - we both opted for Sunday dinners, one chicken and one beef and our plates were clean at the end of the meal - if that's not a sign of a good meal I don't know what is?! I'd say The Albany is a treat destination, if you visit too regularly it won't be as special - so get out your glad rags and get down to The Albany.

The decor is ok, it's quite dark, more like a nightclub than a pub and is littered with nostalgic references to the 90's. There's almost a 'dirty element to Cuckoo - not saying it's unclean but it feels like the sort of place you could go and get plastered and you wouldn't feel out place. Maybe that's why it's popular with the Belfast student population. We only stayed for one pint and then left, A-OK in my book!

Since the Chelsea was redone it has been the staff that keep me coming back as I'm not a huge fan of the new bar. The drinks are not the cheapest but again because the service is so good and always welcoming I would recommend everyone giving it a try. I usually have the Portavogie scampi which is delish. Actually I could polish off a plateful now. I once read what prawns eat and I have to put myself into a state of suspended belief to eat scampi. One I have achieved that, I looove those bad boys and the Kings Head do a nice plateful. Nice tartare sauce too. It cost about ten pounds which isn't the cheapest pub lunch in Belfast but there are cheaper options like panninis for a fiverish. Service is always with a smile and efficient too so no complaints there. Also the Kings Head has its own large car park so there will be no problem getting parked when you're in a rush. These things all count you know.

I've had my fair share of memorable burgers from coast to coast in America, but just glancing at a picture of the beef shin burger transports me back across the pond to the Barking Dog. I remember the few days I spent in Belfast fondly and of the many memories, my meal at the Barking Dog was a definite highlight. In a rather quaint and charming neighborhood, I took a nice short stroll from my Airbnb and came across this gem of an establishment and decided I had to check it out. I had a nice beer to start, and it wasn't a Guinness because stouts aren't my thing, but whatever it was I remember it being excellent and local. Undoubtedly you could make this place a regular haunt and there is no shortage of drinks and food options to make this a go-to for a date, celebration, or a quick meal. The staff are welcoming, kind, and helpful and the general atmosphere is chill. The food for me was ethereal - a burger isn't just a burger here and what you get when you bite into the beef shin burger is a little slice of Heaven. Moist and tender are a given but the taste is just so divine with the caramelized onion, cheddar, and horseradish mayo melding into an union of perfection. It's hard not to describe one of the most memorable meals of my life in such hyperbole but the vivid recall I have of this particular place is uncanny and merits all the praise I can heap upon the fine folks that run the place. If timing had worked out, I would have eaten as meals here as I could have but I'll thank my lucky stars for at least giving me one opportunity to eat such a wonderful burger at such a wonderful eatery. However they really need more Vegetarian and Vegan options and for these to be highlighted on the menu. Nonetheless being Northern Ireland's first licensed patisserie Miel et Moi definitely offer something different from the norm plus a great range of sweet treats and cocktails. FOOD: Absolutely scrumptious and flavoursome. However portion sizes are very small and it's therefore expensive. Our lunches of tomato, red onion and basil salad (£6.75) and goats cheese with carrot jam, herbs and toast (£6.50) were tasty but small for the price we paid, being more starter size than a proper lunch. We noticed a lot of diners around us opting for sandwiches (£4.95) which looked more substantial and economical. Others had quiche which appeared to be a very small slice for £8.50. We shared a mango and raspberry cheesecake which was decadent and probably similarly priced at £4.25 to desserts found in any restaurant. DRINK: Very good with coffees, wine, cocktails, gin and tonics all exceptionally good. COST: Expensive, our bill was £82.42 for 2 people. Coffee and patisserie items are a standard price but lunch dishes and cocktails are overpriced especially given the small portions e.g. a Kir Royal cocktail rings in at £9.95. We actually had very little food but ran up quite a large bill on just a few drinks. SERVICE: Excellent and attentive with all waiting staff extremely helpful and pleasant. We didn't feel rushed out of our table either and ended up sitting on for over three hours. RESTAURANT DECOR/ AMBIENCE: Wonderful especially on a sunny day as the outside seated area is a sun trap during early afternoon. Decor is French influenced with soft muted colours and there is a lovely relaxed yet luxurious vibe to Miel et Moi. IN SUMMARY: Miel et Moi serve delicious food but need more clearly marked Veggy meals on their menu. I found the service, food, atmosphere, drinks and ambience lovely but prices are high so it would definitely be more of a treat spot rather than somewhere I would visit frequently.

One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon!

When you enter Eddies you can see that it is just like stepping into a real American diner and a great touch is that there is a juke box at every table. The food is great also. This is at heart a burger joint and they do it well. I had a smokestake burger and it was delicious. Applewood cheese, onion rings and secret sauce allll gooooood!!! I loved the food so much that I went back for seconds the next day and I can davey say that I will be back again.
