Their professionalism and friendly service reminded me of my first sales job, and I have to give them props... it's not easy, especially these days. I called ahead about a hard-to-find field jacket liner, and they knew exactly where to take me on arrival. They even let me try it in my jacket to make sure it fit perfectly. By the end of my visit, I had also picked up a hat and handkerchief. Service was that good! The store has an incredible selection, Carhart and Dickies, true surplus, you name it! Picked up a few items here for winter season. Terrific selection for industrial, construction, or civilian wear. A bit on the pricey side but the quality is terrific. Very well kept store. The second you walk in your asked if you need help. I like that after we said no we didn't get bothered whild we browsed. They have a great selection here. I'm addicted to neon yellows and greens. I almost purchased the whole store. The sneakers and boots are in the back. To the back left of the store you will find t-shirts two for $20. The raincoats were on sale I almost purchased one. I do see myself coming back here on payday. Its a pretty nicely sized store. Before you walk in theres a lot of stuff on display. Wow I've been in Astoria for 5 years and had no idea this was here. Needed to pick up some hiking boots last minute. The staff were super helpful and their prices are great. Excellent local spot for outdoor gear. While most items are geared toward men, women can easily find things they need too in unisex sizing. By far the best army navy store i came to. Normally I would expect the normal "its right over there" or "nope we dont have those" and "whatever sizes are there thats it" or "go online or to amazon i think thats where you'll find em" kind of answers when I go asking the staff but soon as i got in, i lust have to look left and look right and found everything that i was looking for that is sold online and best of all, they carry my size! The staff there too was friendly and was kind enough to say " if you have any more questions or can't find what you're looking for just ask me okay?" . This is definitely gonna be my to-go store for my hiking, trecking, shooting, zombie apocalypse and all that good stuff gear. -peace! read more

I live in Manhattan and take a bus and a train ride to Queens - Get off on Broadway and I purchase a few items every time that I go there. I worked in Security and need all the stuff that they have. The gentlemen and staff are professional and if they don't have what you want they take the time to make sure that they can order it for you. They know me by name which is Frankie and call me on my cell to remind me that whatever I order has come in. I work outside and stand for 8 hours, sometimes 16 hours so although the Security Company doesn't provide much of the clothing, there's things that I need to purchase from them, including V-neck sweaters, shoes, hats, socks, under garments which help during the cold weather. I have lived near the Jackson Heights location for over 30 years but the selection is better here because I guess there is more foot traffic on Broadway. I mostly come here for Dickies brand shirts and boots but they have a good selection of bags and military gear also. Yelp discounts are good option too read more

With a race the next day, and brutally cold weather abounding, I went out in search of some sort of running pants that were not cumbersome, but would keep me warm. I instinctively checked out the sporting good stores, but ran into obscene prices for something I was only going to use once or twice (I much prefer running in shorts, even when it's cold. That said, 8 degree wind chill is dangerously cold...). When I accepted the fact that I wasn't going to drop $80 on running pants, I thought to myself, "what about a pair of long johns to wear under my shorts?". Perfect! Easy to find right? WRONG. As is typical of retail, you MUST purchase a season's worth of clothing two seasons before said season, or brave the freezing cold just to find rows upon rows of swimsuits in your local clothing stores. Then it hit me. Army Navy stores carry everything you'd need to survive! So in I went, was nicely greeted by the sales staff inside, instantly found my $9 pair of long johns and was out within 3 minutes. NICE. The long johns were perfect in the race! I went to store to see their selection of walking shoes. The store seemed small but in the back was a full shoe area where I could select and pick from several brands. As I take a men's small size 7, I was surprised they had the shoes size in stock. overall the experieince was very courteous and professional. This store is great, while technically it is a chain though sadly some of the other locations have closed. They still manage to have that neighborhood small store feel. They have a great selection of sneakers, men's clothes, one of my go to stores when I need a last minute gift for Dad. They have a nice selection of military items and shirts as well. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, if there is a shirt that I want but the size is not available they will order it for you. I myself have gotten some things from them as well. Sitting in Starbucks researching where to find a stylin', green, army looking coat. Didn't even realize that across the street right in my line of vision was the answer! Went in just to look. Walked out with the jacket i have been searching for for over a month, plus several other items that were surprisingly less expensive than even Marshalls or Target. The jacket was PERFECT, and was only $69. I looked in SoHo for a full day and all they had were stupid ones with fur on them (people still wear that), for over $200! Besides stumbling on EXACTLY what i wanted, the staff was great, the atmosphere was relaxed and it was easy to find stuff. And you can't beat the prices. a cool shop on broadway (astoria ) steps from the broadway train station (q and n line ). before you enter you can't ignore the old sign on top or all the merchandise on the two sided window display .as i walked in i was a bit surprised that it's not only military stuff they sell, the place has plenty of men's clothing and footware with all the major brands on sale . i am no military buff or into this type of stuff but maybe buying a jacket with one of the arm forces displayed seems like a proud patriotic way to show my support to the troops . must give much respect to the guys who work here cause they are very helpful and recommended a jacket and hat that my brothers really liked , i decided to buy for my brothers and not myself cause they served our country and i did not so that's that . prices are reasonable and they have a generous return policy . a cool store to visit if you are in the astoria area of broadway . read more

I needed a pair of black jeans fast and they had them. $35 for Levi's 505s. Didn't have to drive out on the Island to a mall (no, I don't do the Queens Mall, thank you.)
