The clothes were very cute by the owner was highly judgmental and rude. She kept going back and forth with her employee about what size she thought I was based on her body and scope. I bought clothes from there before and tried to ignore her rude demeanor, but today I went to look for an outfit for my birthday, and I walked out with nothing instead of just dealing with her because I like the clothes there. First time writing a review in Yelp bec this's never happened before!!! Anywhere!!! And I'm a shopaholic......The employees at this store are very rude. I will never go back. I bought a blouse one week ago and did not even take it out of the bag because I found a nicer blouse somewhere else. When I came to get a refund or at least a store credit (within 7 days as per their policy) they said that the blouse was worn and did not take it back because it was "dirty" LOL!!! Obviously they sold it to me that way because I didn't even get a chance to take it out of the bag. That's not all. I bought a dress 2 months ago for a trip but got COVID right after so I had to quarantine and ended up canceling my trip, so I did not wear the dress. I went to the store to get a store credit right after I finished quarantine and had my proof of Covid with me . They refused to give a store credit or even exchange it for something else. I was not asking for money back. I had found some last minute outfits here in the past but they are not all that. I guess they think is worth losing a customer over being a little considerate and flexible with them!! Never seen a store like this before, no wonder is always empty!! read more

For years I enjoyed and always looked forward to great finds at HANGER ...until recently. July 20th I purchased 2 very cute tops - tried on at home one fit great and the other's fit was off at neck line. Following weekend I went back for a store CREDIT not a refund a CREDIT (misplaced receipt) a credit that I gladly would use - again was not looking for a refund requested a CREDIT. Told sales person I had misplaced my receipt. The sales person was not pleasant , rudely refused!!! Said without receipt he can't pull it up, I showed him the tag still on the shirt, nope he just kept being rude, told him should i come back with my bank statement...rudely responded NO! I reiterated i want a CREDIT NOT A Refund ... Nope, tells me to come back when the owner returns 8/10. Ridiculous, that I have to go back for a store credit ...NOPE as I don't plan on EVER SHOPPING there again. I'll wear the shirt to bed. Buh Bye Hanger! read more

I never write bad/negative reviews....but I was just looking around in this store today and the employees were so unbelievably rude. There was one female worker with long blonde hair who multiple times bumped into me for me to get out of her way so she could "organize" the racks... I was also checking out a rack near the back of the store and she kept loudly saying EXUSE ME and would not allow me to look at the clothes. It was so disrespectful every time she did it to me. The items are a little overpriced, but it's what you'd expect from a little boutique in the city. I had shopped in this store several times and had a fine experience, but their archaic return policy has caused me to change my mind and I will no longer be shopping here. I am aware of the policy, but attempted to return an item the same day. I of course was not allowed and given credit. The problem is the items are very hit or miss quality wise so I kept waiting for something better and life happened and before I know it the credit period expired a few days ago and I'm out $52. No exceptions. Not sure how they expect people to be repeat customers with that treatment when there are so many more options available now. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I totally Love this store .. they have the best clothes and always really fashion forward. Every time i am on Steinway i stop in to see if any news tops came in. They have the best tanks and Tees with the best sayings. Also the sales girls are not only professional but they are very helpful and friendly. My shopping experience there has been great! Now on to the Shoe part ... I have bought shoes from them before because they were reasonably priced and looked great plus lets fave it every other store on Steinway has ugly selections and cheap looking shoes except but this place. But this is the 2nd time I walk in to buy clothes and see shoes I really love and they are OVER PRICED. News flash same shoes you are selling for 98.00 in your store are on different shoe websites and all over IG for 59.99. Even with shipping they won't amount to the price you guys have in your store. If I walked away twice and I don't only buy one pair I usually buy 2 or more there are other clients that are walking away as well. Saturday alone you missed out on not only me buying shoes but my girlfriend too. That would have been a good sale for the store. You have a great small selection but I won't over pay. My suggestion is before you price your shoes do research and instead be reasonable. I would have totally given you 5 stars but the shoe part kills it. Either way I love this store. read more

Never again. I went in this morning to look around and on the rack was moving the clothes to see. The owner says "really." If you're bothered by people moving clothes on the rack to see them you shouldn't be in this business. He kept going behind al the clothes I was going through and "fixing" them mind you I didn't move them out or place. Then when I went to try on clothes he seemed satisfied. Last time I will be going. Some of the clothes here are cute, everything is organized by color and you can be sure if you buy something no one else will have it since they only carry a couple of each item if not less. Unfortunately the staff is not the friendliest. From my personal experience when I'm looking my best (with makeup and dressed nicely) I am greeted upon entering and asked if I need help. If I come in wearing sweats I am ignored, even when there is no one else in the store. This is especially exemplified by the only male manager who works in the store. If you don't give a shit you can check them out for their clothes but honestly they're not of the highest quality they are totally overpriced and I personally don't want to give rude people my business. Not sure why you're retail when you seem to visibly be repulsed by most people interested in what you have to offer. read more

Came here on a Saturday evening looking for some cute dresses. My friends have purchased from here and they had advice that the clothes were super cute but the staff wasn't the friendliest, however I decided to give it a shot for the sake of a cute dress for my companies Christmas party. Walked in with my mother and no one asked if we needed helped. There was a male worker and he walked by us several times without acknowledging us. My mother and I continued to look for clothes on our own. When I was ready to try them on, the same male guy said we had to wait, while he was helping another customer. However all the other dressing rooms were empty. We waited till he was done and finally went in to try the dresses. One of them was a little too loose and I wanted to see if they could bring me a smaller one, once again no attention at all. I got dressed and left the store, very disappointed. I work with customers all the time and this is definitely not the right way to do it. read more

Girls working on Sunday 4/16/17 actually had the nerve to say I was too flat chested while they thought I couldn't hear them. There are no mirrors inside the individual fitting rooms so be aware of that if you are at all self conscious - you need to come out to use the big mirror in the showroom. Poor Customer Service / Unprofessional Communication Skills: On 4/19 I purchased a blouse ($78) from this store by ASKING WHAT IS THEIR RETURN POLICY while I was trying the item. The girl who helped me told me that I can return in 7 days for a refund and if I pass 7 days, I can get a full store credit. As I was worried, the blouse didn't work well for the occasion that I purchased it for. Therefore, yesterday 4/21, I visited back this store for returning. When I got there, I was told that there is NO RETURN POLICY. And when I was politely trying explain this lady (assuming she is their manager) got extremely rude at me in an incredible level. In a rudeness level that she was loud and trying to tell me that I made it up that I asked the person who helped me in my purchase. I suggest, do not even waste a penny in this store. Horrible quality, and extremely rude establishment. I really regret that I even had to purchase something for a last minute occasion. read more

Hmmm, this place needs a little work. When they first opened a few years back, they had a good variety of going-out clothes and casual trendy stuff at reasonable prices. The quality is certainly not great, but the prices are that you get what you pay for. The people that work here are friendly but sort of useless. I came on a weekday to browse and found a belt I was considering, and asked 3 people how much it is - and strangely, none of them got back to tell me - not sure if there was a language barrier. It was overall an odd experience, and while I was waiting for "someone" to find the price, I noticed that the belt itself (stretchy with a metal-ish buckle) had a scary disclaimer that read "materials in this item have been deemed to cause cancer and birth defects by the state of California." WTF?! At that time, I dropped it, and don't plan to return. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place, I especially love that they are literally split down the middle into some really really great going out clothes and awesome casual outfits. Really great, soft basics on some of the center racks too, which are particularly perfect. Bought pants here that ripped the second time I wore them. When my mom sewed them up she commented on how cheaply made it was hence the tear. The clothes here is the cheapest quality of clothing I have every purchased and for the quality you get it is actually pretty expensive. I have bought things from here where after one wear it would literally fall apart, buttons coming off, stitches opening up, bag handles breaking off. Very bad quality and terrible return policies. Second of all... every time I go to this store I experience nothing short of excellent customer service. The girls who work there know what they have in stock and what to suggest for outfits. I was there for almost two hours one day and they went above and beyond to help me pick out outfits for a wedding weekend.
