Nick Sinacore, is best the Service Advisor on planet Earth! And Browns is a great dealership! This is why: I bought a used 2013 Caravan from Brows in August 2019. It was in great shape with 47K miles on it. They gave me a very fair price and a great trade in simply because I was trading in a Dodge product. They gave me the hard sell on a private warranty, but I did not bite because, although it was through a reputable company, it was not a MOPAR warranty and as such not for me. In the next six (6) Months I used the Van as intended; for commute to work, as well road trips with my dog up and down the east coast. Up to Buffalo to see my son in collage, out to western Pennsylvania too see my brother, down to Florida to see my Dad. In the course of that time I put 20K miles on it. However, on the last trip to Florida the van developed a very rough idle. Initially I thought it was the deregulated ethanol in Florida. By the time I returned to New York, several fill-ups later, the Check Engine Light was lit (Cylinder #3 Misfire) I took it to my local mechanic that I had used issue free for years. He replaced the Coil-cap, Spark Plug and injector; did not fix the problem. The Local Guys diagnosis is that the Valve Seat in the Cylinder Head had deformed. His suggestion was replacing both heads with updated/better versions; a 4,500 repair. I was reluctant to call Browns because I figured that they would take advantage because I refused, the warranty. Nothing could be further from the truth. That's when I met Nick Sinacore, the Service Advisor. When I first called Brown's, they put me on with Nick. He was very attentive and patient to my questions and gave me great advice to research the issue. Over the next week I researched and would call him back to ask question. He would take time to explain or call me back expeditiously if he was busy at the time. I brought my Van in, Nick made sure I had a brand-new Jeep for a courtesy vehicle for no charge. Nick Performed the compression test, and made a diagnosis. It wound up being a much less involved and cheaper to fix issue. Nick explained exactly what would bee done, and assured me that he was confident that his diagnosis was correct. He called me twice a day with status updates and the repair only took two days to complete. ALL THIS DURING A PANDEMIC! I dropped the courtesy vehicle off; Nick gave me a box of the broken parts so I could see exactly what was replaced. Browns charged me a fair price despite it was without the warranty. I scheduled an appointment to drop my car off to get all 4 tires replaced and when I go to pickup the car I see damage to one of my wheels. Now they tell me they will not replace the wheel on a 70,000 car they will only repair it. The car only has 17,000 miles and this was the first time the tires have been changed. I also paid for a "tire warranty" when i purchased the car and i was told they would not cover the tires under the warranty so I'm unsure what I paid for. The first time I brought my car in, I ordered 4 tires 3 weeks prior to my first appointment for tires to be replaced, dropped my car off for the scheduled appointment. Car was at the shop for 8 hours, tires were never replaced. Fast forward 4 weeks, tires replaced finally and when I go to pickup the car I see damage to one of my wheels. I apologize for the long review. I'm having trouble with my 2016 Jeep Compass Latitude with stalling at a stop light and one time it did it while I was driving. It started about a month or 2 after purchasing in 2018. Took it to Brown's, not my regular mechanic, figuring that since I bought it there, they may have an idea about what to do. My appt was for 8:20. I drove to the service center, & spoke with Brianna who I made the appointment with. She told me that she would keep me up to date on my car's repairs. I also requested a 50K miles service & an oil change. They ordered me an Uber to drive me home since it might take 1/2 the day to diagnose & repair. At 1:16 pm, there was still no word from Brianna so I called. She told me that the mechanic was looking at it now. I asked if it would take a long time or dos I need to find alternative transportation to work & she said that there was a POSSIBILITY that they may have to keep it until tomorrow & I should make other arrangements. She'd let me know. At 3:35, I still hadn't heard anything so I called again. I received several texts beforehand stating that I would be receiving updates thru email or texts, which I never did. I was a bit agitated by that time because I had no other means of transportation. Brianna informed me that they can't figure out what was causing the stalling because it was not happening when they drove it. But everything else was complete. She also said that they were going to have to keep it and try again tomorrow. I asked how if it's a jeep & they're a jeep service station, how can they not figure out what's causing the issue. That's when Brianna got a bit defensive. She said that a code did come up on the diagnostic test and they were trying to replicate it so they can be sure. After a few minutes of me asking for a better explanation and Brianna talking over me saying that she was trying to explain but I wasn't letting her, she said let me transfer you to my manager. I said please do. Rich got on the phone and proceeded to tell me the same thing that Brianna did. I felt talked down to and disrespected. I was told that I could come pick up my car if I wanted. Basically no one could tell me why they had my car ALL DAY and couldn't figure out why it was doing this. There were several other issues that happened but to get to the point of the problem; I'm a reasonably intelligent & corporative person, explaining to me what the situation was would have been helpful. Instead I felt like I was being treated like a child who didn't know anything about cars. My brother is a master mechanic for over 20 years & I'm a technical writer for an aerospace testing company. I know machines, engines & computers. When I mentioned my brother, Rich said if my brother was a Jeep mechanic, why didn't I have him fix it? Because I brought it to you & I never said he was a jeep mechanic. I picked up my car & received a printout. On the printout was the code that Brianna told me about & the price to fix it. P0335 Code. Some symptoms of a P0335 code include: The check engine light is on, The car stalls, or misfires. But because the technician cannot duplicate the same issue, they cannot fix it. My brother, the mechanic told me that there was a TSB (technical service bulletin) on 2016 Jeep Compasses but it is now a recall. Meaning that the crankshaft position sensor or its relays which can cause the problem should be replaced ( for free). To surmise the problem, poor communication on Brown's service employees, no consideration or respect for the customer and no understanding of the vehicles that they sell. I've worked customer service for many years & here's what I believe should have happened: 1) Inform customer upfront of the wait time to look at & repair their vehicle 2) contact with customer in texts or phone call about the status of repairs 3) if a situation occurs that may be a potential problem, call the customer to explain in detail & offer solutions or suggestions Rich the manager did remove the diagnostic fee which I was appreciative of but they did hook up my car so it wasn't necessary. I'm not sure if it was the issue of getting the part, the fact that they would be losing the $800 to replace the part or they just don't know how to perform the work. First Sales at Browns have always been professional - they even tried to apologize many times for the behavior of service. But for Service they are really poor. I have not found one person their to be professional. I dare even to say human they have no compasion or understanding. I would try other service providers but many no longer support Jeeps you don't buy frm them so that in itself is a shame. Our 2022 Jeep Cherokee Summit Reserve has been in the shop more then 80 days and they are so busy repariing cars their wait time to schedule can be up to 6 weeks away. The woman who took my reservation for a recall repair was simply rude and nasty. She said they are so busy and the car needs to be there all day. Side note, the recall says not to charge the car, to park the car away from the house and other cars in the event the vehicle catches fire. The woman after be ing rude some more says make sure to bring the car in fully charged. You can see the dilema here - jeep says don't charge the car and the dealership says charge the car fully the day I bring it in. What??? Anyway, the letter from Jeep says this is urgent and to birng the car in immediatly but becasue ( I assume) Jeep quality has gone down hill the service dept is so busy no appts (with a loaner car) untile Feb 3rd (Today is Jan 2nd) - for a car that could explode or go on fire at anytime. The woman on the phone went on to say that she has the same Jeep model and the same problem. She hasn't charged her car in a month. She went on to say this isn't only a Jeep Problem but other car manufacturers have the same issue, She said her husband works at another car compnay service cneter and see this issue alot too. Another great experience at Browns112. We Just purchased a 2020 Jeep Compass from them for our daughter. we have the Grand Cherokee and also the Cherokee. We could not be happier. We always go back to Browns because of the great experience they keep offering. They are honest, not pushy and try to make the customer happy. TJ and Scott are great salesmen and Sam in finance is great as well. I went to other Jeep dealers before Browns and was told that Jeep did not make a Cherokee that came with a tow package. Brown Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram RANT/REVIEW ***2020 Jeep Gladiator TSB for the steering box*** November, scheduled oil change done without issue. Spoke to service advisor about the TSB that was available, was told I'd need to show my alignment is correct to be eligible, I HAD MY ALIGNMENT PRINT OUT, so we moved ahead and ordered the part. Mid December the part arrives, almost to the exact date I was promised. Service calls to make an appointment, January 8th at 8:30am was agreed upon after the advisor promised me I'd have my Jeep back same day by Noon/1pm the latest. Brown's has emailed me FOUR TIMES to confirm my appointment, I called to confirm I'd have it back same day before 1pm, Monday, Tuesday, both people said yes, no problem, it'll only take a couple of hours. (A couple is 2....except in Utah) Today, dropped the Jeep off at 8:12am, said I'll be next door (deli) and the advisor freaks out, "you can't wait for this" I said I'm going to get food, he said okay good. I say but noon/1pm pickup, he said "noon, ehh maybe, 1pm, yes, definitely, I'll be in touch." 10:15 am Jeep hasn't left parking spot, I called to inquire, they're waiting on a capable tech. 1:52pm Jeep still hasn't moved from parking spot, I called to tell them not to touch my Jeep, I'll be there in 5 minutes to get it. 1:59pm I walk in and my Jeep is magically in the shop, it's being worked on. I purchased a 2022 Ram 2500 with 16000 miles. I have a strong feeling I know why it was traded in. I was warned by 3 people to not purchase a truck from Brown's Dodge, but being that this was my second vehicle purchased from them, I didn't think it wouldn't be an issue. I couldn't have been any more wrong. The manager who sold me my first car passed away. This time I dealt with 3 separate salesmen. After having an issue only days later, no one wanted to seem to take responsibility and the blame game began where the salesman pointed fingers at one another. Just weeks after getting the truck the heated steering wheel wasn't working. It was dropped off at the dealership and was supposedly, "fixed". Upon getting my truck back, it still didn't work. I also encountered other issues. My rear tailgate was unlocking without the key fob and I only noticed this after I had about $1500 of tools and gear stolen out of the back of my truck when it was locked. I tested the tailgate by leaving my keyfob in my house to see if it would open without it. The tailgate opened without it several times and happened on occasion . I was told that there was no issue with the tailgate and I should call my insurance company and purchase an extended warranty which expired in a few months. The rear tailgate handle was not seated properly and I was told that I should have noticed that when I picked the truck up. I picked up the truck at night in the dark. I did read about a recall and several lawsuits in regards to this issue. The locks on the toolbox they installed were already pitted just weeks later. I couldn't get the key in the lock and get my stuff out. They told me it worked perfectly fine. Everything in the toolbox was saturated from rain. Every time I went over a bump I felt grinding under the pedals. I was told that there was no issues with that as well. They had my truck for an entire week, but found absolutely no issues. Not just with one issue, but all the issues I had encountered just weeks after purchasing this truck. I discussed the rear tailgate handle that wasn't seated properly, only to be told that it's not their issue and I should have noticed that before I picked up the truck at night. Then the representative said to me, "if U purchased the truck off Craigslist or the marketplace and then noticed an issue with the rear handle, U would expect the seller to fix the damage"? I purchased the truck at their dealership and not Craigslist so I wouldn't encounter those kind of issues. I realized that I had no more safety purchasing a vehicle through this dealership than if I bought it on the Marketplace. I would have saved thousand of dollars, had I not bought through their dealership and purchased privately. I also had $1500 of property stolen. I've been looking to buy a Durango for my wife, but that's certainly not going to happen from this dealership. Anyone buying a vehicle at this dealership should bring a mechanic with them if they choose to get involved with them. Also, check the recalls and don't expect them to fix or correct the issues. Most car dealerships are really sleazy, but this one is a clear winner. I've been reading about the tailgate issues on the 2022 RAM trucks. Do not bother getting your vehicle serviced at this location. I had an appointment for a repair covered under warranty for my new Chrysler Pacifica (purchased from them) for a parking brake issue and a sliding door issue. They took my car in and repaired the two issues but needed to keep my car overnight to fix another issue that popped up during the repair. After no communication from the service department on the 2nd day or return on my phone call inquiring the status, I went to the dealership at 3:30PM to find that my car was not even being worked on yet because the part did not arrive until 1:00 PM. Communication is definitely a failure at this business and the negative reviews are pretty accurate to include the lack of caring for customers by the service staff. Here are some suggestions: 1. Went for a tire rotation and oil change ended up with my steering wheel trembling and my brakes squeaking ? I reschedule and call back my complaint. They hold my car on a lift for 4 hours (cause I watched them) than come and give me a 5k invoice for brakes and rotters ? When I had no problem with my brakes and they feel fine ? Once I made the complaint to the agent the manager came to show me my 1 brake pad that was low and told me 2 brake pads in the back are good ? I wandered in here on Thursday (Halloween!) after my old civic died a few days earlier. I've been meaning to purchase something new for quite some time and this gave me the push to be proactive about it. I made a bunch of appointments to look at different cars. I had an appointment for this Friday to look at a purple Jeep Wrangler at Browns with a certain salesman but decided to come in a day earlier and take a look. We met Scott who was absolutely phenomenal. As a sales person myself I went in with a guarded mentality, preparing to be bamboozled but I was anything but. Scott was amazing. He was personable, funny, warm and friendly. We looked at the wrangler but a 2018 Dodge Challenger caught my eye. After I test drove it I fell in love. It was certified and beautiful and drove like a dream. That Friday afternoon i received a call from a kind gentleman named Ritchie who told me i was approved and to come in tomorrow to get everything situated. Saturday I returned first thing in the morning and met with him and he was wonderful. He was able to get me the best deal possible with the extended warranty and i wound up paying much less than the asking price. Overall I give this dealership five stars. The staff is great and not what you would expect from a car dealership. I will absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. I ask for someone else, anyone else, but no, its always this cuck. My truck was here for the same repair a few times and the excuses on why nothing was fixing my fuel problem were endless. Not to mention them replacing a radiator on my truck later on and not replacing any the clips and bolts they removed off the bumper. I need a Bodyside Aperture Exhauster part for my Ram 1500 which is sold at MOPAR Parts online for $11.00 and readily available online at numerous sites for under $13.00 a piece. I called Browns Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram parts department and was informed they have several in stock at $16.00 a piece. Wanting to complete the job the same day I drove down to the dealership to purchase them where the parts department now informs me they are $32.95 a piece. They could not give an explanation of how the item went from $16 to $32 in a half hours time. Misleading business practices. I was going to sell my car to this dealership through the Kelly Blue Book appraisal program. They gave me the initial quote after reviewing the pictures I sent them. They said they would reimburse me for the tow to the dealership, which was $150. When I got to the dealership and met with the manager, John Y., he told me $5k because the bumper needs to be painted. He told me I'd have a check by end of day or the next day. I texted him later to remind him to reimburse me for the tow and he told me that the reimbursement was included in the $5k. I never agreed to this. So I'm here waiting for one of their people to tow my car back to my house. They are refusing to reimburse me. Do not do business with these people. Second time we had a poor experience with this dealership. Unfortunately a trend at this point... Car was brought in for a new starter and window regulator. Starter repaired in days. Donna called and told us window regulator was on back order. No word for over a week with multiple calls not answered. This went on for THREE weeks. When you call in to service you are put on hold and sent to other departments. We had to Facebook message to any type of communication if you can even call it that. We ended up picking up the car with the window not repaired. We gave our business to another repair facility. We will NEVER come back here and make sure to tell everyone we know how horrible the service is. If I could give zero stars I would. This is one shaddy place. Jacked up price and didn't tell me about a rebate. Then when I canceled the car they lied about refunding my 500 dollars and had to call the credit card to stop payment. They are rude and disgusting to women. Scott is a disgrace and so is the allegedly sales manager Jonathan. Wouldn't send anyone there. BUYER BEWARE!! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy a vehicle and have their incompetent and unqualified service department repair your vehicle. I don't know what mechanic school they were trained from, but they don't know how to diagnose or fix cars. Also, the so-called, "Lifetime" warranty doesn't exist. If they don't want to replace an engine, then they will have Chrysler buy you out of the warranty without your consenting. I've been having problems with this Dealership service department for over five years. I originally brought my vehicle in because it kept stalling when I would drive it in the rain. Literally stop working, where I would have to pull over to the side of the road and restart it. Since the vehicle wasn't giving any engine codes, they would just guess at what was wrong. This went on for four years until they finally listened to me when I told them it was probably the electrical component in the engine. They finally replaced that. Since then, all the sensors started going. Then I brought my vehicle in because it was starting to stall and hesitate and smoke was coming out of the tailpipe. They had the vehicle for about three weeks and told me it was the radiator that was smoking. Of course, this wasn't covered under warranty, because they had to flush it out. A week later, I brought it back in for the same reason, smoke coming out of the tailpipe and it was still hesitating. (They had my vehicle for four months). In October, they determined that the smoke was coming from the brake calipers and that was causing the smoke from coming out of the tailpipe. (Now I'm no mechanic, but brake calipers would not cause smoke to come out of the tailpipe.) So, they changed the calipers and took the vehicle for a test drive and then finally noticed that smoke was coming out of the tailpipe. They've had my vehicle for over a month. Now, unknowing what was going to transpire next (I found out on December 19th), they did further investigation and took my engine apart and had the warranty specialist come and give an estimate of the repairs. This warranty specialist determined that the head gaskets were warped, and I needed a new engine. Now you would think if you have a lifetime warranty (bumper to bumper) it would be covered. NOPE! Because the value of the repair exceeded the value of the vehicle. So, Chrysler decided to buy me out of my warranty. Once they canceled the warranty, any repairs that the dealer made (remember those brake calipers, which were previously covered under warranty-invoice was never put through for payment). Yeah, guess who had to pay for them. Yup! In order for me to receive my "warranty payout" because Chrysler sent Brown's the buyout check. I had to pay for those brake calipers that were previously approved for payment. I asked the manager, make sure the battery is charged so I can drive it home. He said, "That is going to be impossible because most of the engine is in the back of the vehicle!" What!!! They literally put all the parts (I hope they are all there because remember I am no mechanic) in the back of my vehicle. When I asked him to put it back together, he was like, "NO, I can't do that, it would take too much manpower and time." Who does that! I drove it to the dealer to get fixed and they take it apart and not put it back together again. I don't even think all the parts to my engine are here. I have to have my mechanic take a look and see. I don't even see my battery, which is a problem. And, to boot, I had to call a tow truck to have them bring my vehicle back to my house. They didn't even offer to have it towed to my house. So, you've all been warned. If you need the repair done on either a Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Ram or Fiat, go someplace else. DO NOT GO TO BROWN'S. So I just called to see what it would coast to replace All the O2 sensors due to millage on Vehicle and Differential service for my 2016 Dodge Charger . Service Advisor asked if I bought the car from them. I replied no his replay we can not service your vehical we are short handed is that a some what way to be nice . Then wanted to transfer me to parts I said no thank you. I have bought cars from them in the past a 2013 Dodge Journey and 2013 Dodge Charger. So on that note I have a dealer on my due not shop list sorry browns failed at Customer service in trying to find a solution to meet my needs. ‍ read more

I come in here today for the first time with a safety issue , lighting issue , and an oil change . I bring my Dodge Purchased OEM parts from Mopar-Dodge website , show them to the service technician , he informs myself that this dealership is NOT ACCEPTING new customers . Then he informs myself that I should have called to make an appointment for the oil change even though they offer the fast lane 10 minute oil change and more lane , proudly displayed as you enter the dealership parking lot . 2 Red Flags and I'm not there 2 minutes . I explain the safety issue with the brakes and the steering , I inform him that the TIPM needs to be replaced , but as soon as I pulled the Original TIPM that came with the truck , told them it's been rebuilt , they refused to install . I also needed a Dodge OEM Wiring harness replaced , I had the part , still sealed in the Mopar package and they once again refused to install the part because it was not purchased from them . They expect us to pay the new inflated prices instead of parts purchased from Dodge . I never heard of bullshit like this . This dealership permitted an unsafe vehicle to have superficial work done on it but when it came to the safety issue , they could not be bothered . Be Advised : I have informed my insurance carrier and Suffolk County PD as well as NYS DMV that this dealership is responsible for putting an unsafe vehicle back on the road . Unfortunately, the reviews are right.... BROWN'S DODGE on ROUTE 112 in PATCHOGUE, NY IS THE WORST SERVICE DEPT I'VE EVER DEALT WITH!!! Came in specifically bc my check engine light is on, But I also need an inspection and a couple software update recalls. The service advisor, Donna, told me it would be "a little while". 2 hours and 17 minutes later, Donna comes out to tell me that they did the software updates but they can't do the inspection because my check engine light is on (the MAIN reason I came in). If I want them to figure out why the check engine light is on, its going to be "a little while" longer. All while making me feel like it's my fault the mechanics didn't work on the check engine light first. I'm writing this as I continue to wait for my car. It's now been 3 hours since I arrived and there's no end in sight. Brown's only gives loaner cars to people who lease through their dealership--- and since I recently moved down to li from Syracuse, where I signed the lease, I'm unable to obtain a loaner car. Had I known it was going to take this long, I would've arranged a ride home and picked the car up tomorrow. 3+ hours is NOT "a little while". COMPLETE BULL! **UPDATE** I sat in the waiting room at brown's from 5-10PM. At the time, I was told the issue causing my check engine light to be on was fixed. I went home. If things couldn't get any worse, now, not even 3 days later, the check engine light is back on!!! I called for an appointment, and after telling the service person I didn't purchase the vehicle from them ( was purchased where I have a home in NH) I was told, sorry we can't take on any new customers. Glad we gave them a second chance. Brian was very nice, informative and helpful, and my husband loves his new Ram Rebel. Our first trip there, we unfortunately had an inexperienced salesman, who basically just dismissed us. But Browns had the truck we loved the most, so we came back the next evening and it was a great experience. Would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a Ram or a Jeep. read more
