I also was on the phone with someone that didn't even work there informing me about cars on "their" lot even tho they don't work there. Then they send me on a goose chase to their used lot which isn't theirs it's owned by someone else. They told me a car was at that lot and it wasn't. I stopped into Baron Honda today, 3/11/26, looking for a used car. They showed me a 2023 HR-V. With about 35,000 miles on it . When I asked the salesman how much it was, he said, "I don't know, I have to talk to my sales manager." After taking it for a test drive, we sat down and discussed the car. He came back to me with a price of $27,000, and this was after I told him the most I could afford was $25,000. Out-the-door pricing. I just came home and looked on their website, and the same car is priced at $22,995. This just seems very deceptive pricing and price gouging. My salesman's name was Thaddeus Brewer. read more

My Experience was horrible. I spoke to a women Name Jayla in reference to a 2024 Honda Accord Sport. Before I drove a total of 100 miles there and back with the intentions of purchasing the vehicle I asked her Jayla, will there be any dealer fees? She told me No. So when I arrived I test drove the car, Jason was my sales rep. I agreed to buy the vehicle but was advised there will be a $4000 dealer fee since I'm not using their bank (coldly). First off, I entered the showroom, I felt like I was in a 1970s club, with the club music BLASTING. I test drove every Passport model. "I" was telling the salesman the options & features in the car, sad. Now the "sit down" & "let me go speak to my manager" routine. He comes back with 2k ABOVE MSRP! I dont have a financial major, but I asked myself: When I go into the supermarket & the STICKER PRICE on the milk container is $3.99, am I expected to pay $4.29 at the register? Then, I asked about financing. This financial genius tells me "Well, if you pay cash, the car will be more". WHAT??????? HUH?....Of course I asked why to this financial genius. "Because we make money on the loans". Ahhhh, not a good selling point! Me: "OK, what is the interest rate? He tells me 8% I HAVE OUTSTANDING CREDIT HERE! It's 3.99% on the HONDA WEB SITE! Do not ever purchase a used vehicle from this dealer. They charge you a top notch price for a not top notch product. I purchased a 2004 S10 pickup from them a few weeks ago that had extremely low mileage. I was told this vehicle was close to perfect. I was told they have a former GM tech there who went over this top to bottom and they did a lot of work to it. I call bullshit. After starting to use this truck I began to notice many issues I feel should not have been missed during a proper used car safety check. First the parking brake does not work. That is a safety issue. The pedal assembly does not lock in place, a common issue with these vehicles so the pedal assembly needs to be replaced. It also has mismatched rear shocks on it, one looks new, the other looks original and of course that one is no good. So they either only replaced one shock or it came into them that way ans they did nothing about it. It also has a bad driveline vibration during highway speeds and it makes a squeaking noise when driving it. I thought it was just a bad U-Joint, not a big deal but it turns out the whole drives haft is destroyed. And they supposedly had a GM tech look over this? If that's the case he sucks and needs to sell his tools asap. There were about 4 to 5 burned out light bulbs on this truck and the brakes are making a hell of a noise. I haven't got to finding out why that is but seeing what I found already I am not optimistic. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to purchase a used vehicle from this dealer. There are only 2 possibilities here. Either they sold this vehicle knowingly with these issues and did not want to do anything about them, or they didn't even bother to do a proper used car safety check on this vehicle. Tried working with a salesman named Joe. He told me I had to finance with them, and could not use any outside financing options, or he would add another $1,450 onto the purchase price. He also said they would "ask" that I finance with them for at least six months, even though he swore that any loans had no prepayment penalty at all. When I asked if this would be something in writing, Joe told me "No, we ask that you do this for us as an honor agreement." What a load of crap! Even every statement in the window of a car for sale says right at the top, that a customer should get every agreement in writing because oral agreements cannot be guaranteed. Had called before to ask about financing and letting the salesman Pierro that my score was low, which to he replied that he was going to show me a car that wasn't too expensive and that I could probably get approved for and he shows me a 26k car, I was hooked and I liked the car and was hoping to get it with a co-signer and last min he backed out so I decided to withdraw my deposit and cancel the deal because i found a car that I qualified for and I texted Piero the day before that I was going to pick up the check, and he left me on read on did not inform the office of me coming so they did not have the check ready and told me Monday they would, and today is Monday and I came in and was told that the systems were down. But no one called met to inform me that it was not going to be ready, I've had such an awful and uneasy experience here, car shopping is stressful as it is and this shadiness makes me never want to car shop at this place. I begin to pull away but hear them start my car (subaru WRX STi), slam on my car's gas and bounce the RPM's off it's Rev limiter for an extended period of time. Not cool. I'd like to briefly describe an unfortunate situation to a surprisingly pleasant one. I have a brand new 2023 Accord Hybrid, which I'm pleased with. With only 10k miles, I started hearing tapping from under the hood. All of a sudden, the tapping got louder, then a loud bang. The car shut down, while driving on the LI expressway at exit 63 East. The car had to be flat bedded and towed to Baron Honda in Patchogue, NY. After a stressful morning, I spoke to Anthony in the Service Dept and said the car had to stay for a full diagnostic evaluation. Long story short, Anthony was quite pleasant to deal with keeping me informed every step of the way on what was found. The end result was that the engine blew and needed to be replaced. This is a tough time to buy a car. three months I searched a ton of car dealerships and many of them refused to work with you. As a matter fact they tell you they're 5000k over the MSRP and smile at you. Really disappointed with the service center customer service at Baron Honda in Patchogue. Sometimes a car buying experience is overwhelming to begin with but when you get beyond that point returning for service should be a breeze. Where has the lost art of "treating your customers like they make or break your business" gone? I brought my daughter's car in for service only to have to deal with rude female representation at Baron Hondas customer service counter. First time here. Came in to test drive a Honda. The sales rep, Piero, asked if I had a car to trade in. I told him I have a civic with over 200,000 miles. He replied "your car is junk." I'm not saying my car is a spring chicken or that it is even worth anything; who tells someone that their car is "junk" to their face? We all make mistakes and use the wrong language at times and I drove almost an hour to see this car, , so I decided to give him a chance to redeem himself. He didn't. I asked him what kind of car he owned. He told me he doesn't own a car, but that he just drives whatever car he wants from the cars on the lot. That seems kind of....unusual, to say the least. He allowed me to test drive the 2018 car I was interested in. If you can even call it a drive- we drove it around the block -once. He said each car has, in addition to tax and documentation fees, an up charge of $2-3,000 dealer fee, depending on the car. Will never step foot in this place again and have already begun telling all my friends and family to avoid as well. Insulting people by telling them their car is junk won't get somebody to like you and also doesn't get them to buy your car! read more

I have gotten two leases from them so far and both have been great experiences. 2019 Pilot and a 2022 Pilot. The salesman, Joe Turner, didn't pressure any sale and simply showed the cars while answering all of our questions. After finding one we liked, the GM and salesman sat with us and we worked out a price together that met our needs. No running back and forth with offer and counter. The whole experience was under an hour including the test drive. Car ready the next day. I do suggest calling ahead to confirm inventory as demand is nuts right now. read more

This is possibly the worse dealership ive ever been to. Completely lied to me on the car i was getting just to make a sale. very rude and unprofessional. Told me the price of my payment went up after i confirmed it the morning of me picking up the car. The employees are horrible and dont care about ur feelings or anything. They charged me 41k for a 28k car. 6,000 dollars later and i left with a car i didnt even want. And they let me leave with a car when the loan WASNT finalized, its against the law and i pretty much was driving a car that wasnt even sold. And i had to throw another 1k to get my car payment back down after they said it "went up" completely bs of a dealership and a scam. Dont waste ur time. Dont use Baron Honda in Patchogue! Took my Honda CRV there for warrenty work on the transmission. The car needed a new transmission which was covered on the warranty. When I go to pick up the car the brake light comes on every time I put the vehicle in drive. Baron's Honda claims it's not a transmission problem and they want to charge me all sorts of diagnostic fees to look at it. This never happened before I brought it to them. My experience with Baron Honda was very disappointing for the fact that we ended up settling for a different color model from the one promised to us all the way up until to the delivery. It felt like a bait and switch scam on the car color. Much of the process was frustrating. I'm a first time car buyer, so I was pretty nervous about being scammed, given what I've heard about this industry over the many years. We were looking for a car to be able to visit friends and family, and provide some relief from being in NYC because of the COVID. We were looking for a 2020 Honda Civic EX-L hatchback in Sonic Pearl Gray. I contacted Jenna (Jen) Goldstein. I accidentally sent her a link for another NJ dealership in the color Aegean Blue Metallic, but I figured she would know which was the correct link for her own dealership. She corrected herself for thinking it was another customer with "same car for their husband but in Aegean blue." She reassured me it was the Sonic Gray Pearl EX-L. I was still waiting on her financing offer over the long weekend and was worried if we would get the car on Tuesday. Then on Tuesday morning, the day of the scheduled delivery, Tony tells me that his drivers are out that day and the delivery will be tomorrow. This severely inconvenienced my work and personal plans that I had made. On top of this, he clarified that the lower financing was not allowed with my model. He said I could do a wire transfer but it could take 3 business days. "If you can get the check in hand it can be done tomorrow. Otherwise we have to wait until the funds are in our account which can take 3 business days." Many branches were closed because of COVID. This seemed unnecessary. I called my loan officer and confirmed that Baron Honda is a preferred dealer with my bank and it should just be a "sign and drive." After sharing this, Tony offers me a slightly lower rate if I come to do the dealership in person and sign electronically. I asked, why can't it be online if it's electronic? He gave no reason other than it's the only way. He said it's just an offer to save me money when it really was to save him money on the delivery costs. I wasn't going to pay to rent a car or cab. I declined. The next morning, he texts me and says, "Before the driver leaves I just want to be certain of the color. Should be dark gray?" Jenna also messages me and says the car is ready, and sends a picture of the car in POLISHED METAL METALLIC. I call her immediately and tell her this is not the correct color. She then blames her mistake on me for accidentally sending her an incorrect link I mentioned earlier, which didn't make any sense because that car was in Aegean Blue Metallic from a random NJ dealership! Wow. I tell her this is absolutely unprofessional and frustrating that they still haven't gotten it correct right before sending their driver. She texts me after, "I understand your frustration I do again want to apologize for all the miscommunication on my part and for Tony I am not a salesperson but I have been trying my best to make sure everything has gone smoothly for you." Either this is a bait and switch, or they are incompetent in their communication, which I don't believe. They know what they're doing. Maybe they had the 2 Sonic Gray Pearl models like they claimed, but other customers offered a higher price, so they went with them instead of my negotiated price. Or maybe they just wanted to target me for another reason. I'll never know. We settled on the Polished Metallic Metal. It was the only one they had left they said and we really needed the car as soon as possible. They probably knew this and took advantage of it. The delivery and signing went smoothly, surprisingly. (No check needed!) The car was clean and functional. We're just happy to have a car, despite all our plans being pushed back that week. I wouldn't buy from Baron Honda again or recommend them. I'm glad this incredibly frustrating experience is over. Hopefully, I don't have to purchase a car again for a long time. read more

I bought my 2016 Pilot there, which I had to mostly do sight-unseen because of COVID, it all went pretty decently. But then something so simple kind of messed up my experience.... As I was doing my final inspection of the car, I realized there was no manual in the glove box. I asked about it and the guy said, "No problem, we will have this mailed to you next week." It didn't happen. Two weeks went by so I followed up...apologies, yes, we will have it to you by the end of the week. Nothing. I texted my contact, left a voice mail, was assured it would be there the following week. By then I forgot about it and a month went by....so I remembered then followed up again. Huge apologies and the next day they said it was sent to me. That was 6 weeks ago and it never arrived and they have stopped responding to me. I would never buy another car there. There are too many good dealerships that follow through on what they say they are gonna do to waste your time with one who doesn't. read more
