Shrink wrapped items that couldn't be dismantled. They met us at the new apartment, had all of our belongings staged in each room where it belonged. They put the furniture back together. This process took 2 hours. They were extremely professional and moved us faster than I could have imagined. There were no hidden charges or surprises, and their rates were fair! There's a reason he consistently receives a 5 star ratings, and its due to a combination of his fair pricing, great work ethic, meticulous care in packing and delivering your household goods, and the speed to get the job done. PRICING - You tell him what you need to move, and he will give you a set price. There are no surprises or hidden fees ANYWHERE. You don't have to worry about added costs for travel time or truck charges since its already factored in and still lower than almost all the other companies in the DMV. WORK ETHIC/CARE IN PACKING & DELIVERING/SPEED - I submitted an inquiry through Yelp to Joe and a bunch of other movers. Joe was the first to respond (within minutes!) and let me know his methodology for pricing. Whenever I sent a response back or asked a question, he always responded right away even after normal business hours. I certainly didn't expect it, but you could easily see he is a hard worker and takes pride in his company. When it came time to move all my stuff, he kept me informed of the team's ETA and as soon as they got there, they quickly got to work. His crew carefully wrapped up the furniture ensuring all screws and small parts didn't go missing and loaded everything in the truck. I had 4 large pieces of furniture and about 25 big heavy boxes, and they loaded everything up, drove to the new location, unloaded and set everything back up within AN HOUR AND A HALF. I anticipated it would have taken at least 3 hours, but I was shocked when they told me everything was done. They even took the extra time to reinstall the separated parts like the mirror and shelves which made it a lot easier for us to try and figure it all out later. Taking those extra steps were such a stress reliever for me because it's hard enough to get anything done with a newborn, and I can guarantee they would still be separated if we had to put it back ourselves. I'm so thankful for Joe and his team and I will be asking for his help whenever my family and I are ready to move again. Don't waste your time getting quotes from other companies because they will overcharge you or take their sweet ass time moving all your belongings. We hired Browns Moving to move us from our apartment to our new townhouse and they were fantastic. The experience was great from the start because Joe was prompt with his responses to our questions. Even if he was on a move, someone responded to our emails letting us know that Joe would get back to us soon. Scheduling was quick and easy and after confirming our list of items to be moved, we had our quote and move date. They did not require a deposit, which was wonderful. The day of the move went extremely smoothly. Joe called to let us know when he was 15 minutes from our apartment and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Joe and his crew all took Covid precautions and were extremely personable, efficient, and FAST! They had us moved in 3.5 hours, including disassembling and reassembling everything. This is the first time that I have moved and nothing was broken upon arrival. Hopefully, we won't have to move again for a while, but if we do, we will definitely use Browns again. Had a small local move, these guys were fantastic! Joe, Danny and Melvin worked fast and efficiently, all the while with smiles on their faces. Nice guys, professional and polite. Made sure the animals were tucked away before any moving started. Got my stubborn box spring through a narrow doorway. Estimated a 2 hour job - finished under 2 hours. Wrapped all of my furniture, wardrobe boxes were also included. Joe - the owner of the company - is a busy guy with calls constantly coming in. He still made sure to contact me while he was on the way, when he arrived at the other location and a well wishes text once everything was complete. Moving sucks. Their quote was roughly half of what the other places were asking and their reviews here on Yelp were great, so I decided to go with them. It was a great choice. Joe and two other guys (both named Thomas, I think) showed up promptly on my move day, packed and wrapped my furniture, loaded up my boxes, and got everything done SO FAST. Joe was awesome - came to our rescue when we decided at the last minute that we couldn't move ourselves and our million boxes after all. He was really professional, easy to communicate with, and no pressure. We communicated both by phone and email. Brown moving is unique in that they charge a flat rate, instead of giving you an estimate by the hour - which provides zero incentive for the movers to work efficiently. We asked for a pretty detailed list of what we needed moved, and gave us an estimate based on that. He brought 3 guys total (himself included) and a 16 foot truck. We moved from a 1 BR - 1 BR (both walkups) and didn't have TOO much furniture - a few pieces, but no couch. He quoted us $420 to move everything, and they'd work until the job was done. He ended up finishing in 2.5 hours and only charged us $400. All of the guys were really nice, they wrapped everything really securely, and were careful with our goods. Nothing was damaged, and they were thoughtful about trying to place boxes and furniture in the rooms that we wanted them in. I'd definitely recommend them! read more

Arrived on time, with supplies, with great attitudes, and with smiles. The team (3 guys) had me laughing. And they were super polite! I have never used the word "fun" for moving day before now. I had fun. Joe is a great guy and runs his company honestly. My Dad was concerned about my move. (Let's just say he has witnessed a previous company dishonarable policies). I could tell him that this company was an honest one and they were treating me well. He was at peace with that. There were no surprises, mistakes, or broken items. Not a one. Joe and his crew came highly recommended from a close friend of mine, and she raved about how great they were during her multiple moves in the DMV area. I can attest that they were fantastic for my long-distance move to Boston during Labor Day weekend and cannot recommend them enough! I first contacted Joe back in late May, and I mentioned to him that I was still looking at other options. Even at the risk of losing my business, he advised me to ask for flat rates when shopping around to avoid the fees that other companies may trick their customers into. That honesty and transparency alone won me over. Over the next few months, Joe was responsive and very helpful as we emailed back and forth about what furniture and how many boxes I intended to move, as well as other logistics. He handled the truck reservation, and Joe assured me that he would take care of it every time I realized that I had forgotten to mention a rug, a lamp, or a wall mirror. On the day of the move, Joe and one of his men (sorry, I forgot his name!) were very patient and professional with me as we dealt with some unforeseen hiccups in the moving process (the service elevator in my building wasn't working). They both were very efficient in wrapping all my furniture and carting them out the door - they finished loading a 16 ft truck in an hour and a half! After a long drive to Boston, Joe and his guy were quick and compliant in unloading everything where I asked. They managed to navigate my couch through two tight doorways and turns through an impressive effort of teamwork and strength. I called MANY places for a quote on our move. We weren't going far and didn't have much, but there were many stairs involved. Brown Moving offers a FLAT rate, not hourly. My husband and I had used Joe and his crew once before, moving between apartments about a year ago. We had originally booked a different moving service for our move to our new home, but the other service cancelled on us on the morning of our move and we were left in a bind. My husband reached out to Joe and he made room in his schedule that day to move all of our furniture and boxes to the house. Joe and his crew are nothing but courteous and professional. My husband was at the house supervising carpet installation, and I was at the apartment supervising the move and keeping our cat out of the way. Joe and his men engaged me in conversation and interacted with the cat, which I really appreciated. They always treat your furniture very carefully, wrapping all pieces in cloth and plastic wrap to keep it from scratching or getting damaged. But when we arrived at the storage space the elevator was broken and the supervisor at the facility would not accommodate us by giving us a different space on the first level. Brown Moving is amazing, point blank! I used them last fall for a roughly four mile move. They showed at 9 and sure enough by 1230 we were completely done! I had a good bit of furniture and a REALLY heavy couch that they ended having to walk up two flights of stairs, dissembling the legs and reassembling, to make it fit through the door. They were super professional and so incredibly nice.
