In regards to Brown Truck Accessories in Forsyth Illinois. Today, 7/19/24, my wife and I stopped to see an electric golf cart. We spoke with a female sales person and she allowed us to take a test drive. She stated they took trade-ins and we could send theme pictures to get a quote on what a trade would be. My wife took pictures and called and spoke to MIKE as well. MIKE asked what issue the trade in had, he was told that the speedometer was inoperative but other than that we were just looking for something quieter. He then  stated that it would a $4000 trade in and gave us final "Out the door price." MIKE repeated this final price several times when pressed by my wife at my request. We took the next two hours getting the trade in cleaned and loaded to our trailer. When we arrived at the store MIKE met us across the street and requested I unload the trade in. While I did that he took my wife across to see what was to be her new purchase, getting her excited and looking forward. He sent us in to pay for the new cart as his mechanic looked over the trade. When I retuned to load the new cart MIKE had questions on how to start and operate the trade in. Once this was done and my wife was finishing paperwork, MIKE stated that he had decided that since "the trade in didn't have a warranty and rattled going into gear." His new trade allowance was $3800 and I would have to adjust for taxes." At that time I loaded my old cart and departed. I realize it was $200.00 and I could have lived with that. The thing that concerns me about this establishment is now  is not the price swapping (though that is pretty weak) my concern is integrity. We settled on a price and when he saw how excited my wife was I think he decided that was a few more bucks to be made, if he is going to go back on his word at the sale he would not hesitate to do the same with warranty or repairs. They installed the wrong part (no the one we agreed on). The owners son does not pay attention and has the wrong parts installed. Then they wanted to argue with me over it. They never once offered up any possible solutions to the problem. They just wanted paid and me out of their showroom. Also, the showroom has a terrible musky smell. Open a window, the place stinks (pun intended). I don't think they are malicious, just incompetent. On a positive note, the folks in the shop seem to do a great job on the installation. The folks in the front office seem to be idiots. Next time I will take my money elsewhere............like anywhere else. read more

Wow, still in a bit of shock. Ordered parts from Browns, the wrong year was ordered. I waited over 30 minutes with nobody in the store. I was blamed for the parts being wrong. I was told I should have checked before taking home (the wife picked up) The man behind the counter threw a fit and said they would be charged to send back. Sorry, you ordered the wrong year for my truck. Was very rude and continued to blame me all throughout the refund process. Asked me if I wanted the correct year ordered, I replied No, then he really melted down. You lost a customer over your Rude, Unprofessional, attitude.
