My wife and I were married here in July 2009. Quick summary - it's an absolutely beautiful venue, but the service left a lot to be desired. That said, I would still recommend this place to anyone looking to host a large wedding (we had 250 headcount) on a relatively contained budget. Venue - outdoor garden setting, dinner and dancing areas are multi-leveled patios that all lead down to a sunken dance floor in the middle of the venue. Tree canopies overhang everywhere, so even though you're outside the place remains cool in the summer. Lots of little nooks, crannies, walkways - a coy fish pond and gazebo out front, as well as a sizable lawn where you hold the cocktail hour. Ferns and trees everywhere you look. If you're looking for something different than the hotel function rooms that many weddings are held, this is definitely a great option. Price - affordable in comparison to any similar venues in SF Peninsula. Accomodations - a bit of a challenge. Within a 10-minute radius, your options will be Holiday Inn Express style places (nothing above 3 star). If you're willing/able to travel to Walnut Creek, you can get something more in the 4-5 star range. We were good with the 3-star options as were our guests, but just something to bear in mind. Drinks - they let us bring our own beer and wine, which saved a ton of money. Didn't let us bring hard alcohol though, but that's understandable. Think it was a licensing thing. Service - this is the part that was, frankly, disappointing. The organizer Kay Kay did not show up at all on the day of the wedding though she had promised to do so, leaving us to basically run the show ourselves. I was told that she was sick, and completely understand that things happen, but we literally never received a follow-up note or call after the event to make sure everything went well. Sort of felt like she had cashed our check then washed her hands of us. In her stead, her father (who owns the house) stepped in and ran the show. To be honest, and I know this sounds like a rant, it was like having a chaperone at a high school party. (made girls put their high-heeled shoes back on when they took them off to dance, told kids to stop leaning on a fence). A few other points: --Dinner was supposed to begin at 5 pm. 5:20 came around and nobody had came to invite guests to make their way to the seating area. I asked a caterer who was running the show, to which she responded "I don't know." I then had to usher all the guests to the seating area myself. Again, just fundamentally bad service. After all of this - I'd still recommend the venue. 5 years later, our guests are still talking about how beautiful it was. I would just stress that if you do choose Brownstone, you may want to bring in your own outside wedding organizer to handle all the logistics of the day/shield you from having to interact with the Brownstone Gardens staff. (update July 6, 2015) The organizer Kay Kay followed up with me separately, and has apologized and assured me that a lot of the issues we had with the service have since been resolved, and that when we had our wedding there their business was only 3 years old (so they were still working out the kinks). Not only do they cater to the every wish of the bride and groom, but they make everyone feel like they are a part of something ultra special. Their beautiful landscaping and gorgeous surroundings are simply breath-taking; if you want to make your wedding a cut above the others, this is venue to consider FIRST. I am writing this review to warn people about this companies cancellation policy. The gardens collects a 200 deposit due at signing and then has you make monthly payments towards the full amount. My wedding unfortunately had to be postponed in plenty of notice to the venue giving 3 months for rebooking and the manager Kay Kay I was not very considerate at all. I explained that my fiancé had lost his job and it was going on 5 months and we had decided that it wouldn't be a wise decision to plan and pay for such an event in that case. With plenty of notice they apologized but then mAde sure that I remembered that I signed the contract in full compliance. I'm sorry brides but when you are getting married do you think about at any point that you may have to cancel?? With all my payments made on time up until the last few months they still were unable to consider my situation whatsoever. We are very disappointed to say the least . My payments equaled close 1500.00 with no refund at all. Why wouldn't they keep there deposit and then refund any other part of the money? Does this seem fair to any of you ? I would highly warn any of you from signing to this contact without full understanding of these terms. Wow. I don't think I have the words to express how wonderful the venue and helpful the staff at BSG are! I was married here on August 22nd, 2015 and it is an absolute pleasure to write a 5 star review for them. When searching for a venue, we were frantically looking for the perfect and affordable location. We got lucky that we came across the brownstone gardens website.We called and made an appointment to tour the venue. Barbara, was absolutely wonderful. We knew that they were busy. They had a wedding to set up for that evening! But Barbara took her time showing us around, answering our 1,000th question, and even ran an estimate of what it would cost to have our wedding there. The venue was soooooo gorgeous! From the entrance you are in absolute awe of how well they maintain their venue. Green grass, bushes, blooming flowers, amazing trees, a koi pond, marble lions, a marble arch, gazebo, water fountain, patio furniture, lights on the trees (which are included in the venue) and more. The best part about it is they are always updating and making their site even better. The day of our wedding, there were many great additions to the grounds! The venue even without a wedding event is just gorgeous! Best part about it was they offer flexible monthly payments. They were the first venue we came across that offered this. My husband and I had no idea how we were going to be able to afford 50% down payment at bookings. And we didn't have to figure it out because BSG did not require it. And we knew we had found the perfect place that fit us in all aspects! We signed our papers and we were happily on our way. The year of our wedding, we were introduced to our wedding coordinator via email. Diana was heaven sent! She answered all my emails in a timely matter, sometimes even hours after I sent her messages. She never once made me feel like I was bothering her or asking too many questions. In fact, she encouraged I asked her more! She was so wonderful to work with and I am so happy she was our wedding coordinator. I trusted her with my big wedding day and I do not regret it. The day before the wedding we dropped off all our decorations and a book of pictures of how I would like it all displayed throughout the venue. I did not have to worry about hiring a decorator or finding friends/family to set up for me. They took care of it all and effortlessly!!! In fact, they decorations looked even better thanks to the staff's eye for detail and professional experience. The day of our wedding, I arrived early to wait in the bridal room for our guests to arrive. I walked in and although they were not fully set up, I almost cried with how beautiful it all looked. I feel so extremely lucky to have my wedding day there. And I have to admit it was the best day of my life (other than the birth of my daughter)! This would not have been possible without the venue and help of BSG staff. Barbara told us during our tour that the staff at BSG ran their wedding timelines like a well oil machine, and they were right!! The day of the wedding everything ran so smoothly. You will be marrying the man of your dreams, but wow the area you will say your "i do's" in will look like you paid a million dollars for it! It was so lush and the mini flowers from the trees that fell to the ground made it look like it was snowing! I had my wedding at Brownstone Gardens this May and it was truly magical! The staff made the whole day seamless so that my new husband and I could relax and enjoy ourselves, and we were glad to have so many things included in the package (chairs, tables, linens, some decorations). We opted for a morning wedding to save some money and were very glad we did. The weather was beautiful and everyone could enjoy the lush green setting. Our day-of coordinator was Carol and she made sure she had every detail captured ahead of time. On the day of the wedding she calmly but efficiently took care of making things happen behind the scenes. The only drawback to this venue is the distance (1.5 hour drive for most of our guests), but it was worth it for the unique and beautiful setting! read more

If you're looking for the complete package when it comes to an all-in-one ceremony and reception venue, Brownstone is the place to go. Nick and I were wowed from the moment we first walked into the venue. It is GORGEOUS. The lush green gardens, beautiful landscaping, and amazing koi ponds (the fish really sold us haha.) But along with the beautiful venue, the staffing made us truly want to book with Brownstone. Their staff is top notch. Every single person we have dealt with through this year long process has been kind, knowledgeable, super on top of things, and all around amazing. Our coordinator Barbara was always there to answer our questions, no matter how big or small they may have been. We never had to worry about something going wrong because when we were concerned, Barbara or Kay-Kay were always able to find an easy solution. When it came time for our final walk-through before the wedding, we went over every single detail so we knew what was happening, when it should happen, and whatnot. So let's get to the wedding. Yes I was a nervous bride. Of course I was worried things could go wrong but guess what...the night was perfect! Every single thing was thought of that you wouldn't normally think of. The kids didn't want normal wedding food so Brownstone got pizza's and capri suns...it was a super big hit! The bridal room was kept nice and cool so when I was getting overheated I could escape in there for a few minutes to cool down. It was the little things. Barbara, my DJ, and photographer were constantly in contact with each other so that everything would go smooth and happen on time, and guess what...every.single.thing. went smooth and happened on time. We were actually ahead of time by the end of the night. It was truly a magical night and one we will never forgot. So go ahead, book an appointment with Brownstone. My cousin had her wedding at Brownstone Gardens. The venue itself was pretty- especially later on at night when the lights went on. The waterfall was cute and the little bridge and shack thing in the back makes good photo op. The food was alright- the salad and the meat was delicious but the fish was really dry. They promised that they would have someone cutting the meat but they didn't keep their promise. The meat was pre-cut. One major turn off was the ONE BATHROOM on site (well 2 for me since I was able to use the bathroom in the bride's room....but I can't imagine how painful it must have been for the guest to line up to use the ONE bathroom). The on-site coordinator WAS A NO SHOW as well. WHAT THE HELL. Venue was nice but unless you have a very responsible personal wedding coordinator, I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

My wife and I got married here in October of 2013. It is a BEAUTIFUL (understatement) venue and fit all of our guests easily. They were very accommodating and have many different options available at your disposal. However, in the event you have specific things in mind, the staff are also flexible, kind, and great about that as well. We asked for a photo booth option at the last minute thinking it would be a stretch, but it ended up working out stress free. On the day of we had a couple of slight hiccups (miscommunications?) that were out of their control. I was at a beautiful wedding and reception there last evening. The grounds are lovely! At sundown the whole place felt like an enchanted garden. The food, apricot glazed chicken with grilled veggies was delicious. The staff, especially, Cat, was an amazing server, as we're many others including the event coordinator. I came to this venue to attend a wedding for my high school friends. Apparently, Brownstone Gardens specializes in wedding events as you can see in several of the Yelp photos. The setting is small but endearing. The decor, depending on the wedding's themes, is also quite appealing. Naturally, this place offers a variety of plants and trees as background settings, suitable for any nature or mystical-themed weddings. My friends were big gamers, so there was a variety of games and game-related decorations throughout the compound. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this place and seeing its potential as a wedding host. The drive to here is long from San Jose, about 1.5 hours. I do recommend leaving early as the route is also often trafficked by trucks and delivery vehicles. If the location is not to your liking the word ghetto is neither appropriate nor useful. considering where some of the potential clients hail from the crime rate in oakley is very negligeable. Instead of using sentence structure from the housewives from wherever try and provide an accurate description of the venue. There is no y in koi and leaves are bare instead of a large brown salmon eating animal. see previous reviews. A magical oasis and a sweet surprise around every corner is the only way to describe Brownstone Gardens. I recently had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of a lovely couple here. As I drove the hour and a half to Oakley I couldn't imagine that what I would find would be so beautiful. As a creative person who has photographed weddings all over the Bay Area I have seen some of the finest venues and this one is right at the top of the list. You wouldn't know that what you are about to walk into is a one of the most romantic settings you can imagine, from the garden of blooming roses, the quaint wooden swing for two nestled amongst the trees to the stunning wall of greenery enclosing the other worldly ceremony area. Every detail of the property is perfection. The manager Kay-Kay greeted me with a smile which stayed all day and night. She was ease-full happy and attentive to every aspect and detail of the wedding. A joy to work with and be around whether you are the bride and groom, guests or another vendor. We haven't had our wedding yet, but just visiting the gardens and sitting down with the wonderful people who run them have us beyond happy and excited. Everything about the gardens is beautiful and all the little details were amazing to see. they have a koi pond that is gorgeous and has a little bridge that is picture perfect. Communications with this venue is a two thumbs down. This venue charges for everything including cake cutting fee for each guest. Anything you need is extra cost. I gave it a 1 star because the place was nice but not clean due to wedding held night before. I booked and made a deposit because the date I wanted was available and was told July was a popular month and will book fast. I had to cancel due to unexpected event. The women said they were not able to refund the deposit but was able to refund our monthly payment if someone book the date. For 10 months, I called and left several messages. No calls back. I emailed them and got 1 responds saying no one booked yet. I assumed they were screening my calls so I called the venue from a different number and finally a women answered. I asked them about the date and said it was not booked yet. I don't think they were even trying at all. They kept my money. so when a family or friend mention brownstone I just tell them my experience. read more

On May 9th, 2009 My husband Dave and I were married at Brownstone Gardens! The most beautiful place ever. The grounds are so pretty and all the flowers and trees and just everything about Brownstone Just lit up my face when I first saw it. They were the ones responsible for making my wedding day PERFECT! The staff were great, the food was excellent and overall I give them a 10 on a scale from 1 to 10. If anyone is expecting to get married please call brownstone and set up a walk thru! You will thank me! I had looked at a couple of other venue's but did not like the way they talked to me at all. The minute I went to Brownstone they were on top of everything and were there for me til the day of my wedding and even after the wedding. Brownstone took care of everything from the food, down to the table cloth colors and their florist is awesome. I have to say my flowers were beautiful. I had a 5pm to 10pm wedding and at night the gardens were all lit up with the floating candles in hurricanes on my tables and was just very romantic. I don't even know where to begin! I am in love with Brownstone Gardens, my wedding was the best night of my life thanks to the staff at Brownstone Gardens. Got married here two years ago and always look fondly back on this venue space. I had a vision of a wedding in a forest and Brownstone's trees and sparkling lights had me at hello. They also photograph really well. It's very convenient to be able to have ceremony, cocktail hours, and reception at the same place, but in different areas so you feel like you're somewhere new! We visited Brownstone Gardens for a friends wedding just this weekend. When driving up, I actually missed the driveway (even with the sign) because I didn't expect it to be where it is. This lovely venue is in the middle of houses and other miscellaneous things, which by the pictures on the website would actually seem like it's in some oasis area of Oakley. The beautiful plants and flowers that adorn the area make the place a very peaceful and beautiful venue for any type of important moment in your life. Complete with a Koi pond, fountain and plenty of beautiful trees, this place is the best location for your next important day. read more

My wedding wasn't too big so the 3 bathrooms worked just fine for us. The food was good and the service was good. My husband I got married here in July 2014. We had been shopping around for our wedding venue when we came across Brownstone Gardens and we immediately knew this was the place. My husband always says he never dreamed of being married in such a beautiful place. I really wanted and outdoor venue with twinkly lights....and man they have a bunch of twinkly lights. You would never expect such a magical place when you drive up to it. Everything about it is beautiful. All the staff were very helpful and especially Kay Kay, Diana and Barbara. These ladies worked with me through the planning up until the very end of the wedding day. They have so many great resources for different vendors and ideas to make your wedding amazing. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't of had the "A-Team" working my wedding. (photographers, Dj, Florist, Cakes, etc.) Not only were they very helpful during the planning process, but when it came to the wedding day, they were awesome. If something needed to be moved or this was a last min stressor or change, they were on top of it. They were quick, efficient, and professional. I will definitely recommend this venue to anyone I know getting married. It is simply gorgeous, and they are constantly updating their grounds (not like they need it because it is beautiful already) but they really strive to make every couple happy. I dont know how many compliments we got saying how beautiful the venue was. Great venue, great people, great resources. So happy we got married at Brownstone. They do other events there too... I have never heard of the place until a co worker of mine told me about it , I looked into it and found they were having a bridal fair that weekend and the grand prize winner would win a wedding for 110 people. Brownstone Gardens truly delivered the perfect place to celebrate one of the most important nights of our lives. From the spectacular staff and meticulously kept grounds, Brownstone was the perfect joining of venue and atmosphere that left our friends and family in the feeling of pure astonishment. Barbara and her staff were exceptional in keeping the reception moving and coordinating the logistics of having multiple vendors and a large guest count to manage. My wife and I were so confident in their work even leading up to the wedding that we never stressed about anything during our 5-hour celebration. And if not breaking a sweat during such a crucial moment in our life says anything, then I don't know what a higher recommendation is. Our coordinator, Barbara, was always communicative, fastidious of her work, and masterfully open to how we wanted our wedding to be fully imagined. She took our ideas, helped us out on what she has seen historically work, and executed them on our night without a hitch. Our table settings, wedding programs, dance floor, dueling pianos, bar, photo booth, ceremony seating, aisle décor, seating arrangement, buffet line, wedding cake, cupcake table, cocktail hour, theme colors, and lighting were just perfect. They took incredible care of us. Brownstone Gardens Estate itself is an oasis. It has a huge parking lot to accommodate a lot of guests. There's a phone charging station. Having the extra bridal room was super useful when the bride and I had to change to our various outfit throughout the night. The living garden area where we had our ceremony is a fairytale setting. There was never a time when I looked away from my wife and I didn't see one of our guests taking photos of the waterfalls or trees or lights, or at least incorporating focal points of Brownstone into their photos. We had our first look at the koi gardens which was also picturesque. The tree canopy in bridal falls is not only beautiful but keeps the temperature down. The day of our wedding the temperature was 95° at noon but under the canopy felt about 10° cooler, with that figure dropping rapidly as the night wore on. So, we planned our wedding to start later in the evening at 5pm to compensate. No big deal. By the time it was 8pm it was 70°. It still amazes me that given such a large complex and large group of people, the staff could easily move everyone from one part of the venue onto the next seamlessly. A lot of guests came up to us and complimented on how beautiful the wedding was. But honestly, when you have a place like Brownstone Gardens as the backdrop, they make it easy. read more

My daughter and I had an appointment at 10:30am with the sales person. When we arrived, she did not know who we were or that we had an appointment. She was very sarcastic and rude. When we asked questions, she kept asking us if we saw their web site and referring us to look it up. I would have to say this venue is very manufactured and staged. The staff members are rude and not very helpful when you are trying to make decisions. They seem rigid and unable to accommodate people's style and taste. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and organized. The wedding planner was present, involved, and friendly the entire time. Catering was done by Lone Tree Catering. We got married here in July. I made the tragic mistake of shopping for venues before deciding on my budget and asking venues what they cost. Because of this, my dreams grew very large when I learned my budget was small. After I saw what the more expensive venues looked like, I absolutely hated every venue I could afford! I was stuck between the thought "It's only one day, don't go over budget" and "It's the greatest day of my life, I don't want to settle on a place I don't love." Then I stumbled upon Brownstone Gardens. It's a total hidden gem! The gardens are absolutely gorgeous! On one property, there are three extremely beautiful, distinctly different "rooms", all outside and natural, and separated by "natural walls". There is the cocktail garden - with a pond with 20 year old koi and a bridge, a huge grass area and a fountain. The ceremony site has a beautiful flagstone walkway that leads through grass to a gorgeous sandstone arch, surrounded by living fern walls and trees that release white flowers in the summer as if it's snowing. The reception site has an awesome sunken dance floor with tons of trees with twinkle lights already set up, and a beautiful waterfall with more koi as a backdrop. And it was only... a little out of my price range! SOLD!! The process from the day we booked onward was so pleasant due to their amazing staff. They hold a couple bridal fairs a year, and at theirs we booked our DJ, Caterer, and Cake Baker. That was easy! KayKay always answered my (sometimes obnoxious) questions within a few days. Diana was our coordinator - and everything the whole day ran so smoothly! Somehow the flower girls kissing ball went missing, and within minutes Diana called the florist and they so quickly brought us a new one that I didn't even realize it came from the florist a second time! Her quick thinking totally saved the day! My husband and I had an AMAZING time, and my guests keep telling me that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I would recommend this venue for any event. I have not attended a wedding there but I have heard many great things from others that have. We held a fundraiser there recently and the generosity we received was amazing. Although we ran the event with numerous donations, the owners and the employees were helpful in anyway we needed them to be. It was for a good cause and that night was magical for us all. read more

I have just have to say.... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not rave enough about this place!!!! Truly Gorgeous! In every aspect of this venue you can see the love, dedication, and detail put into every piece!!! Just Amazing!! Fairytale come true!!! My Husband and I were married here on November 8, 2014!! It was the most amazingly spectacular night of our lives... And even of our guests!! We were all soooo blown away by what an amazing and beautiful night it was... We were married just after day light savings time with a 5pm wedding ceremony!! It was ever so slightly dark outside with the trees lit just perfectly with gorgeous twinkle lights, we lit the paved stone aisle with vases with floating candles and rose petals. The Gazebo was draped ever so elegantly with Sheer drapery with the lights from the Gazebo shining through! When I walked down the Aisle I shed a tear, it seriously was a fairytale come to life, something straight out of a movie! The cocktail area is gorgeous as well... They added a canopy of lights over there new paved area surrounded with a gorgeous coy pond and waterfall!! What a wonderful addition (we even thought of moving our reception to this side... Gorgeous!!!) The food was amazing, Wilma Lott is by far the best that they offer! We highly recommended them!!! All our guests were blown away by the food, which they could not expect anything less from the foodies that we are. But honestly so delicious, we had the Mushroom filled pastries, Bruschetta with Garlic Shrimp and the Flat Breads for appetizers and for dinner we served the Teriyaki Chicken, Trip Tip, Butternut Squash Ravioli with Brown butter sage sauce, Caesar salad, and green beans. But back to this amazing venue!! We held our reception in their stone courtyard with drop down dance floor. The trees lit the area with their gorgeous lighting and fresh sound of the waterfall set the mood for the perfect evening. We chose Mike Vincent as our DJ he was amazing to work with and so good at picking the right music.. Our friends danced the entire night!! The Dance Floor was packed there were few that were still sitting during dancing.... Few!!! When does that ever happen... The coordinators at the Brownstone are amazing to work with... AMAZING I tell you!! Kay-Kay, Diana, Barbara, all of them, go above and beyond to help make your special day everything you ever wanted... They are so personable and just so great at what they do! I had not one complaint about our day!! Not one!!! They even dealt with my craziness and made sure everything was just how we wanted it... It was gorgeous!! The staff was amazing too... They were so good at making sure we had what we needed and our families tables too!! Everyone is so nice there!! We felt so blessed to have them all, they were great!! I am telling you.... I am still getting messages from people telling us how amazing our wedding was and how much of an absolute fairytale it was and how gorgeous the venue is.... I will admit initially I thought I would have spent less money on our wedding.. But it is true when they say you get what you pay for!! My husband got upset a few times when planning because of the spending, but when it was all said and done, we would have spent twice as much as we did if it meant our day was going to be as amazing as it was... It was all worth it! I think the word is actually BREATH TAKING!! I still get chills!!! Well done Brownstone Staff!! Well Done!!!! What a beautiful place and the staff was out of this world to work with. We had my daughters baby shower here this past Sunday 9/27/15 . We needed a place to hold a large group and what a wonderful surprise this was when we arrived to take a look. I had my wedding at Brownstone Gardens in late August 2014. I couldn't have been happier with the venue and staff! Diana was amazing and beyond helpful! The staff were always responsive to my many questions. The were always accommodating when me or my family would ask to visit the venue leading up to the wedding. Wilma Lott was my caterer of choice and everyone said the food was fantastic. I received numerous compliments from friends and family saying my wedding was by far the most beautiful wedding venue they had been to. It truly felt like a Midsummer Night's Dream! So very glad we had our wedding here. I had dreamed about my wedding for a long time and this place exceeded my dreams. I can't say enough how exceptional this place is in person. The pictures on the website don't do it enough justice. It's breath taking. All of our guests commented on how beautiful everything was. We were married in the morning by the waterfall. It was perfect!! The staff was excellent! We worked with Kay Kay and she was fantastic! Every time I had a question she made sure we worked things out. She listened to what we wanted and never pushed us to do anything else. She was informative and very nice to work with. She even took pictures at our rehearsal because everyone else was busy talking. She recommended a wonderful photographer Kristin and the cake shop they use was perfect! We're still enjoying the cake :). Our daughter and son-in-law were married on 9/6/09 at Brownstone Gardens. From the first time we met the staff, they were very accommodating and friendly. Whenever we had questions, they responded quickly. From the time we booked the wedding in December until the wedding, they made several improvements to the ground like adding permanent restrooms, so we were pleasantly surprised. Originally we had booked another venue (the River Mill in French Camp) - they were horrible/rude and tried charging us extra hidden fees, etc, in which we requested to be released from our contract. We only had five or six weeks left to plan a whole new reception in October 2015, and Brownstone definitely stepped up to the plate. Wow, what a magical night we had on 9.1.14. Chris and I just got married here at Brownstone and I have to say... we were BLOWN away. The venue was amazing- the lights, the canopy of trees, the multi-level patio in the reception area, the DJ (Mike Vincent Productions), the food (Wilma Lott Catering), the Koi ponds, the table set-up, the ceremony.... holy cow. BUT, I have to say what I was most impressed by was our "day-of" wedding Coordinator, Barbara. I emailed her nearly every day leading up the the big event and she answered every question I had with patience and great advice. Barbara is the perfect blend of no-nonsense attitude, yet still caring and sweet all at once. I could tell that she genuinely cared about how our event turned out. She busted her booty setting everything up for the reception, ceremony, and cocktail hour. She even added a special touch to the altar on our big day because she thought it needed "a little something" and boy, was she right! She's got a fantastic eye for detail, a ton of experience, and she'll keep you on-track the whole day. I was concerned for time leading up to our wedding day since we only had the venue 5pm - 10pm, but Barbara made sure that we stayed on schedule to get the most out of our big day. Honestly, without her there is NO WAY our wedding would've been as successful as it was, and Chris and I will never forget everything she did for us. Now more detail about the venue- they just put in some amazing lights in the cocktail hour paver area- it's super romantic and really adds to the overall look of that side of the property. I LOVE the amazing koi pond and bridge they have over there as well, I can't believe how massive the fish are! We brought in some lawn games to fill the massive area they have for cocktail hour so there was plenty of activities for guests to do while we finished up our photos. The ceremony area is quaint and private, and easily fit our 144 guests (btw, there was ample parking for all guests out front as well). We added some drapery to the altar to soften the stone look and I was very happy with how it turned out (after Barbara added her special touch to it, of course). The living wall and the crepe myrtle trees they have surrounding the ceremony really make you feel like you're in a special place. I love the lush green flowers and plants they have everywhere- if you want a romantic, outdoor garden wedding this is THE place to hold your event. My favorite area on the property is by far the reception area. They have mature, beautiful trees creating this canopy that covers all the patios. I've never seen anything like it. This area really makes you feel like you're in an oasis in the middle of no where. They have amazing lights going up the tree trunks and hanging balls of light coming down from the tree tops that make great mood-lighting for the big day. No need to bring in your own lights to create that effect ;) And it made for an amazing location for photos (our photographer Juliana Ljubisavljevic is the BEST around but that's for another review). Also- we went through DJ Mike Vincent Productions (MVP) and he brought out the coolest party lights that were flashing throughout the dance floor. They were glowing all shades of colors and completely transformed the garden when it was time to get down and dance through the night. Our food was FANTASTIC. We went through Wilma Lott Catering (who is a preferred vendor through B.G.) and I couldn't believe how delicious everything was. I had multiple guests coming up to us saying that it's the best wedding food they've EVER had. We went with a greek/mediterranean theme that was a bit off-the-beaten-path and I think WIlma Lott completely nailed it. Overall, the staff was fantastic, our wedding coordinator was AMAZING, the venue was romantic, and our guests had a absolute BLAST. They had it all- the tables, chairs, venue, DJ, food, wedding coordinator, lighting, a unique location, and an easy payment plan (which meant less stress for us). I'll never forget Barbara and all her hard work, along with the beautiful day we had. Don't let the odd area in Oakley fool you- park the car, get out, and walk into their gardens and I'm sure you'll be blown away by the oasis they have hidden beneath the trees.
