While the facilities at Ivy Terrace are great, what really stands out is the Community Director, Jeanette Terbush. Jeanette is the heart and soul of Ivy Terrace and she immediately felt like family for our dad - and also the rest of the family. Although this has a Saginaw address, it is really located in Bridgeport on Dixie Hwy. I can't speak to the office experience but I can tell you about the quality of the care that my father received this year and also in 2024. He was here for rehab service both times. The staff here was very attentive to anything my father or my family requested. Ironically, he was in the same private room each time with a view of the parking lot on the side of the building. The physical therapy worked with my father to regain his mobility after surgery and his hospital stay. They were professional and they had the same mission as our family to have my father return to his home. Mission accomplished! It's taken me two months to write this review because I miss my mom so much. She was everything to me. She was in and out of a couple places before ultimately ending up at The Bells. The first place she was at was nightmarish in their treatment. The second place had good front line help, but the management left something to be desired. So I wasn't optimistic about The Bells based on our previous track record. I was pleasantly surprised. Both the management staff and the people who care for the residents were kind, professional and compassionate on a level I didn't think was possible. My mom ended up passing while staying there, but this is why I know, without a doubt, my mom was in good care. Staff members went to my mom's funeral! She was only at The Bells for a little over a month, but in that short period of time, the staff cared so much they went to her funeral. That meant the world to me. They didn't get paid to do that. They did that because they cared. They legitimately cared about my mom. If you're like me and scouring reviews of places trying your best to make sure you put someone you love dearly in a place they'll be cared for, please let me ease your mind with my endorsement of The Bells. Having to do this is never easy, but I hope I can make it easier for someone else. I was there with my mom and saw the kindness and patience the staff had with the residents. My mother had dementia and lived in independent senior apartments. Lisa, the Director, was my mother's main caregiver, and she is a very caring Christian woman. She has a way with the elderly and always shows them love and respect. All the seniors were my mother lived absolutely Love Lisa and her staff. This team did their job and kept in communication with us whenever anything changed, or things were needed. Even though my mother didn't always remember everything, the staff set up helpful reminders for her. Lisa, the Director, set up a wipe board and large-print calendar. This was used to help my mother know when someone would return, her daily schedule, and who had been there. This team of caregivers was a great blessing to our family. My mother is gone now, but I just want people to know there is someone out there you can trust to give their whole heart into caring for your parent. Caring for a parent is not easy but knowing there are people like Lisa and her staff at Stewardship In Homecare who show love and a caring attitude in all they do is a breath of fresh air. Lisa always says it is God and not her because he is the one who made it possible for her to be here. I believe her because you can see she actually cares for her clients. My mom had a full reverse shoulder replacement and needed to go to physical therapy. We chose a big…read morename therapy clinic and she went for 5 weeks. During that time we didn't feel like we had the kind of care that we were looking for. She needed additional therapy and we chose Family Care Plus Therapy and Wellness, Sachin Desai. I worked with him in his marketing and also knew him as a member of the Burton Chamber of Commerce. He has always told me that he works one on one with each and every one of his patients. I really wanted my mom to have that kind of care. From the first day Sachin told her exactly what to expect and worked with her one on one. He is a very caring person and very thorough. He not only worked on her shoulder he worked with the whole person, reminding her to stand and get her bearings before she takes her first steps, (she has had one knee replacement and will need another in the future). He also would work on her hands, (she has really bad arthritis in them). He worked with her on all of her issues. He was very encouraging, he would say, "Dorothy, I think you can do a few more." She has really improved. I cannot say enough about the wonderful care that we got from Family Care Plus. My mother was very excited when she realized that she could wash under her left arm without using the sponge on the stick. It is the small things in life that we celebrate but this was a big improvement for her. She can now reach over her head without thinking about it. She has come so far. I would recommend Sachin and his staff to anyone who needs to have physical therapy. He is the best. He has a staff of two students but he did all of her therapy one on one. He is located on Center Rd. in Burton just south of Lippincott.
