Hmmm thought I'd weigh in as the other review is so negative...my Mom has been here for years...the…read morestaff is kind and caring and busy. New management/new owners this year...seems to be a pretty seamless transition as most of the staff is the same. My mom is comfortable, clean, feels safe...they specialize in brain trauma...from Alzheimers, strokes...and it's a small home - less than 20 residents. The staff are busy...as with many businesses...no idle hands these days. They get all the residents dressed each morning, out to the central living room, showered, into pj's and into their own small private bedrooms in the evening. Physical therapist comes in frequently. These are brain trauma seniors though...catered for their very special needs. Our family is so grateful for their help and kind care. Thank you everyone at Heather Pines...we love you.

Staff complains they are too busy if asked why something was not taken care of. Seems they don't have time for anything. I wonder if any of them actually have a certification to pass medication. Gossip is a big problem here, things are just unprofessional and the Owner is part of it in my opinion. One shower for all residents & no ventable ceiling fan so the bathroom is too hot & does not vent odors because there in no window in that bathroom. It's just old & outdated and just doesn't seem to be a priority. Possibly because it is up for sale. It is less expensive that many places in the area. I was extremely disapointed in the activities. There are a few staff members that really care & are very good. Sadly, they cannot take care of everyone. I would be concerned if my loved one had any altered mental or physical condition. Also pick your own physician, homecare, hospice, etc. Your loved one has rights, do not let anyone take those away. If you are not sure, ask to see background checks, certificates, etc. Contact the state to find out information and/or with any concerns. The truth is, you get what you pay for. I would never refer this facility to anyone. The above statements are my personal opinion!!!!!!!!

Living out of state and unable to travel due to age and Pandemic restrictions I was fortunate to have had Brian recommended to me as a resource. Bryan is the owner of Senior Care Authority covering the Oakland, Livingston & Wayne Counties. From the very first phone call, he assessed my Mother's needs, problems with her current living facility and options that would be a good fit for my Mom in the geographic area she wanted to live in. We wanted to move her as soon as possible and Bryan got to work immediately, sending me suggestions, reviews as well as videos to look at. We then narrowed it down to three places and he then arranged for us to do a virtual tour of each facility. He created a plan, answered questions and helped us manage all the necessary steps in making a choice. He then researched moving companies in the area and sent us the estimates as well as reviews. My 93-year-old Mother was very anxious about the move. On the day of her transfer, Bryan went to her facility prior to the movers arriving, spent time with her, reassuring her and overseeing the move as well. The van arrived to take my Mom (wheelchair bound) to her new home, he followed to make sure everything went smoothly upon her arrival. He also did a FaceTime (at her current address & then when she arrived at her new place) so I could see and speak with my Mom. Bryan is very kind, patience and passionate about his work. We exchanged many phone calls and emails. During this pandemic with health care concerns, it was reassuring to know he was also an experienced nurse. He is planning to visit my Mom in the next week to see how she is adapting & happy in her new residence. I highly recommend Bryan if you need help in researching your choices in caring for a loved one who needs assistance with daily living.

I have been a patient here since 2023. Dr. Kitzmiller and the other providers are medically astute…read moreand responsive. Unfortunately the clinic manager and billing company incorrectly submitted my medical billing since 2023. I have repeatedly requested an itemized billing statement and have been repeatedly denied. I have repeatedly requested to speak with billing and have been repeatedly told that their billing company doesn't speak with patients. I have never received a bill from this clinic. I have never received an EOB from my insurance company. Diane the office manager told me today that I owe about 3,700 before I can make another appointment. I was given no notice and no bill until today. Durand the clinic manager told me that my insurance company has denied payment. This is incorrect per several high level employees at my insurance company who have stated that their billing billing was submitted on 3/21/25. It's in review. There has been no denial. The clinic manager abruptly withdrew no notice, no bill and no continuity of care told me that I cannot come back for treatment. This is patient abandonment. I really hope Dr. Kitzmiller sees this because I find him to be an excellent and ethical provider. I doubt that the medical providers are aware of this situation which is happening to other patients.
