Never fails.... best pedicure in the world! (I could end my review here hoping you would just trust…read moreme and try it, but I'm just going to continue to make you jealous.) First when you go into the cozy store, you are surrounded by aromatic smelling candles. Since this is a spa not just a nail store, there is no strong nail salon smell like many of the nail places. Sipping a mug of hot latte or ginger lemon tea, you are then invited to the most comfy sofa (better than most cheesy auto massage chairs). They use only essie products, so you know your nail polish is going to be long lasting. My recommendation is to splurge a little more and get the "Ultimate Pedicure". Not only would you get the world most pampered experience on your toes, you will also get a scalp and shoulder message with aromatic lavender oil or lime oil. Even though the store is a bit on the small side, they have a table at the center for you to sit around and enjoy coffee while waiting for your toes to dry. They recommend you to stay around for 30 minutes before putting your winter boots on. While in Cali, I could easily throw some flip flops on and hop into the car, in london it's not always possible. This becomes a true benefit to be able to sit around and relax and chill. Simply heavenly.... it's a bit tough to make appt as they are always quite full. You can book online on the cowshed website.

This place was listed, I was in the area, so I checked it out. Tiny, crammed little place yet an oasis away from the noise and bustle of the near by shopping streets. Half shop and half spa, the friendly staff took me in and sat me in a large, plush chair while giving me a relaxing pedicure as I sipped champagne. While the manicure area is quite small, on the ground floor with the shop, below is more spa space and they have an extensive list of services. Their shop products suit every mood with names such as 'Knackered Cow' for relaxation or 'Grumpy Cow' for a lift. Fun and fresh, I am especially partial to the seductive mood 'Horny Cow' candles which I think says it all!

I feel like such a jerk making comparisons like this, but in NYC I went to a stern Russian woman…read morewho did brazilian waxes in half the time, with half the pain, for half the price, and twice as thorough. At the ministry of waxing I was placed in exceptionally comfortable positions that granted them poor access and didn't hold the skin taut enough. Give me a stern russian woman who'll make me hold my legs over my head any day--the result was so much better than this.

Disappointingly overrated…read more After reading the strong reviews for this place, I thought I would give it a try. When I got home 40-mins later, I realised (a common theme with London waxing salons!) that they had left some unsightly patches of hair. I called in to ask whether they could give me any compensation at all since I couldn't come in again that day and would now have to pay to get their job finished locally, and they were curt and offered nothing but a perfunctory "sorry", which arrived just before the call ended. Having handed over £39 for an "all-off wax" by a salon that specialises in waxing, I feel somewhat cheated! Where they did wax, it was brilliantly done -- if only they could have finished the job and offered better customer service. *** MoW called me again the next day to ask whether they could do anything to make me a happy customer. Kudos for this. However, throughout the ensuing conversation, in which the manager repeatedly interrupted me and described company policy about 3/4 times, it became very clear that they were unwilling to do anything apart from look at the wax they gave me so that they could check they had trained their therapist properly!

I popped in here for a 30 min Enzymatic Sea Mud Pack Treatment, a wax and a manicure…read more What can I say, except these guys are efficient, efficient efficient - in a completely good way! I started with the mud pack. The warm mud was brushed all over and then I was wrapped up for 20 minutes as the minerals were absorbed by the body. After that I was ushered to the shower down the corridor to wash off. Back into the room, I had my waxing treatment. The therapist was no-nonsense and the pain was over in minutes. There was a huge squirt tub of moisturiser in the room, which she directed me to use, whilst she went upstairs to set up for the manicure. My manicure was great. My cuticles were expertly pushed back and trimmed, nails filed and buffed, and I was given some good advice on ensuring my cuticles were kept in good shape. There were various nail colours to choose from and it was handy having a nail dryer on the table to dry one hand, whilst work was being done on the other. Overall an extremely professional and friendly place, which I would recommend, and use myself again in the future.

Ideally, you could just fly from the street directly to the treatment room so that you could avoid the mess in between.
