I initially went to Amy 3 years ago when she was in Orange County. I went to her for brow shaping and tint. She's always amazing when it comes to brows, and gives me the perfect shape. I stopped going to her because of the price. I still followed her work because her brow skills are awesome. I had microblading done at another salon. I had issues with the technician and contacted Amy to see if she would do my follow up. Luckily she was able to work on my brows. She increased the thickness and evened the length. My skin did not fully take the microblading ink, so I still had to fill in my brows. I went back to Amy about 9 months later and decided to try the ombre. My healing process took longer than the microblading process. It was still dark weeks after I had it done. I was looking at other ombré brows on Instagram and theirs was much lighter. I initially wanted it to be light like those pictures because it looked natural. I understood why Amy did choose the right color because my brow hairs are dark. Sometimes I do with it was just a shade darker, but that's just me. She usually does not offer a complimentary touch up for a color boost, but since my skin did not retain the color well during the ombré process, she offered it to me if there was obviously some spots missing after it healed. I went to SD in the pouring rain for the complimentary touch up. The missing spot was not that noticeable so she said she would charge me for using the supplies. I understand it was a lot of work just for a small spot. I didn't like the recover process anyways and how it would be dark right after, so I decided not to do it. Since I drove all the way down there, I decided to do a brow shaping. It made all the difference. Amy is super friendly and easy to talk to. The location is at her apartment, so you have to text her, and she will come out to get you. You can park in the street or park at the 2 hour guest parking spot. read more

Updated review: I was originally underwhelmed with the results of my keratin lash lift and tint. I've been getting lash extensions for the past 5 years and can no longer wear them because of an allergy I developed to the glue. This was my first time getting a lash lift so I had no idea what to expect. She had me lay down and just started and then about 30 minutes later, was done. I'm not exactly sure what she was doing but it was relaxing and it felt like she was brushing/smoothing out my lashes the whole time. I do wish she had explained the process more as she was doing it since it was my first time. As for the results of my lash lift and tint, I didn't really have any big noticeable results like most of the photos on here or on their IG. Its most likely because my lashes are so thin and short. But I was very disappointed at first with the results because I'm so used to lash extensions and I was hoping for a more dramatic result. And I had one section that looked like it was bent at a weird angle backwards. However, I'm updating my review to give them 5 stars for their exceptional customer service. Jax contacted me after my review to have me come back in so she could look at them. She explained why one hadn't curled (it was above my lash line) and did a relaxer on one that I thought was bent weird. She also offered to do a lash extension glue patch test in the future if I wanted to try her glue. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the results. I initially booked an appointment with Amy to remove some extensions I'd had put in elsewhere before the holidays and wasn't super happy with. Amy and The L.A.B. I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars but giving 4 stars because of how sweet Amy is and how amazing my brows looked when I left her salon! She completely reshaped my brows and did a brow tint and I left looking and feeling absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, my t zone and area around my brows broke out like crazy after her waxing, and I am really particular about my skin. Also, the brow tint looked great for 24 hours, but despite following instructions my tint is no longer visible on day 3. Got a Keratin lash lift from Amy about 4 weeks ago and I wanted to wait a few weeks to write a review to give an honest review of how my lashes fared over several weeks. I absolutely love my lashes! Even after 4 weeks they've really held up well and still look as if I've just gotten them done. I really think it's worth the money rather than lash extensions because they last so long (I was told about 6weeks) and because if you're lazy like me, they don't require a lot of maintenance and care like lash extensions do. I really like the fact that I can use mascara in my lashes, use oil products on them, and they look incredibly natural. Amy also told me that because they're basically permanently curled (at least for 6weeks) that you don't need to use an eyelash curler anymore which can limit the damage to your lashes and help them grow out longer. I also really enjoyed the whole experience with Amy, she's super sweet and welcoming and makes the whole process super enjoyable. read more

After looking thru Yelp, I scheduled an appt for an eyelash perm with Amy. Unfortunately for me, I woke up sick this morning sneezing and coughing - knowing that chemicals would be used on my eyes I did not want to risk injury, so I texted to cancel appointment. I received a text back saying sorry but her policy allows for no exceptions! I was not happy....later I realized I got charged $62.50, so I texted back that I would be keeping the appointment after all, as I did not want to waste my money. She texted me back and had the audacity to tell me since I was sick I couldn't keep my appointment and that she had already booked someone else for my time slot! I requested that she refund my money since she lost neither time nor money due to the cancellation! She has not responded to my request! What type of business is this? Is the cancellation charge a revenue source for her? Please anyone considering using her service or any services at this salon be aware of their strict self-serving policy, and by the way what kind of business has a "sick" policy I never heard of such a crazy thing that only benefits the salon what about the poor customer. There are just too many people in our area that do good work to put up with this type of terrible customer service/treatment!!! I once more request that Amy, since you were able to schedule another appointment and therefore suffer no loss, there is no need for a penalty cancellation charge, don't be so greedy and refund my $62.50! *****1/13/2018 ***Amy has responded "We have a late cancellation/reschedule fee due to the fact that we are blocking out our time specifically to cater a custom service focused just on you, for you. When we have a no show, there is no revenue, and there is a lost in productivity that could have been applied to another client. This policy applies to everyone in any situation thus stating no exceptions" However according to her text to me she was able to schedule someone in my time slot - therefore NO lost revenue NO lost productivity - so why charge a cancellation fee? I would give this a one star based on customer service. Owner Amy is very inconsiderate despite the good reviews she gets here. I spoke with her about how I was excited to receive her services but miserable I missed the appointment because of an emergency. I'm a single mom and I just want my lashes done yet she charges me $75 for a no service!! I told her she is running a business and should at least consider first time clients and rollover the charge to still get the service but NO!! One of my greatest (albeit vain) wishes in life is to have long, pretty eyelashes. Sadly, I was born with short (or so I thought), straight, Asian eyelashes. To be totally honest, lash extensions just don't seem to work for me. Since I have monolids, the extensions stick out weirdly and I'm not a fan of the upkeep. Enter the Keratin Lash Lift. I booked an appointment with Jax about 3 weeks ago and have been very impressed with the results. Basically, the Lash Lift gave my lashes the most pronounced curl ever, something I've never been able to achieve with just a normal eyelash curler. It's to the point where I think my natural eyelashes are actually pretty long, especially with mascara. Jax also recommended Grande Lash growth serum, which I've been using but can't tell if there's been any change yet. When it comes to your eyes/chemicals, make sure you do your research and go someplace trustworthy! I'd rather pay a little more for someone experienced than jeopardize my healthy/safety. Jax really knows what she is doing. So until the day comes when I can get eyelash implants or something, I'll stick with the Lash Lift here. read more
