I was able to use my insurance as well so my actual out of pocket was just over $100. While at Kennesaw Mountain they told me I needed two crowns for the two root canals I had done at the Endo. The Endo recommended a crown and a filling, (one tooth was cracked), Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates told me I actually needed two crowns to the tune of almost $3,000. Come to find out I didn't actually need two crowns. The recommendation from the Endo was correct, all I needed was a crown and a filling this is after both dentists at my new dentist looked at the root canals done by my Endo. So in addition to being rude and lazy, they are also trying to over charge by pushing unnecessary dental procedures. Be very careful if you visit Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates. Make sure you reach out to your insurer prior to your visit and check your coverage or they may try what they tried with me and tell you that you don't have coverage. Also if they recommend a procedure don't hesitate to hit pause, take few days and get a second opinion. It could save you thousands of dollars.

I really wanted to overlook those issues and continue bringing my family here, but when there are problems almost every time we visit, it becomes too stressful. If you're a new patient, my advice is to verify that the office has confirmed they are in-network with your insurance BEFORE your appointment--even if your insurance company lists them as in-network. The office says they verify insurance the day before your visit and will contact you if they don't accept it. Naturally, you assume everything is fine if you never hear from them and no one mentions anything at check-in. However, in our experience, they sometimes verify your insurance while you're already there, only to tell you at checkout that they don't accept your insurance and that you're responsible for the full balance. In all fairness for this instance, the balance was finally written off after I complained about it. The same applies if you're having anything beyond a routine cleaning. Make sure they've verified whether the procedure is covered by your insurance BEFORE treatment begins. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and was always reassured that things would improve, but issues continued to happen. The office considers it a courtesy if they don't collect payment at checkout and offer various payment options to make your payment. I don't see that as accommodating when the situation could have been avoided with proper insurance verification beforehand. In one instance when my husband was given the "courtesy" to not pay at checkout, the moment he left his appointment, I received a text with photos of his invoice, the balance due, and a payment link. I was also told that because the insurance policy is in my name, I am responsible for his bill and I will be sent to collections if the bill is not paid, which I found frustrating. I understand mistakes happen, and I know times are difficult for many families. That's exactly why clear communication and accurate insurance verification are so important. Unfortunately, I was told I am the only one having these issues with the office, even though they kept occurring. It's disappointing because Dr. Mitchell is a great dentist. Sadly, the ongoing problems with the front office and billing have outweighed the quality of the dental care for my family. I'll be relieved once this final bill is paid and we can move on.

I know I can trust him. My insurance covered my cleaning 100%. By the time I was leaving The insurance gal had already researched my plan and any cost to me for what I needed done. I was covered 100%. They didn't try to rip me off. She was extremely knowledgeable. What a relief to have found an honest professional dental practice. Hmm... where to start…read more The woman at the front desk, I believe her name was Rachel, was extremely rude when giving me the quote for a temporary crown. While I was signing the paperwork, she snatched it out of my hands, made a copy, and practically threw the copy back at me. After my root canal, I went to Dr. Smith for a temporary crown and what I was told would be a minor repair to a broken filling. The entire procedure took nearly three hours, and I left in more pain than I had after the root canal itself. My mouth was sore for almost two weeks afterward. When I returned for the permanent crown, I was told the appointment would take 30-45 minutes at most. Instead, I was in the dental chair for two hours. After the crown was placed, my teeth were cemented together to the point that I couldn't floss between them. I'm also pregnant, so while I understood the need for one X-ray, they ended up taking four and still could not remove all of the cement between my teeth. They asked me to return in 2-3 weeks, but at this point I will not be going back. I now have to see another dentist to correct the issue. Additionally, while trying to remove the cement, the dentist flossed so aggressively against my gums and the side of my mouth that it left my mouth extremely irritated and even caused a scar on the outside of my mouth. Overall, this was one of the worst dental experiences I've ever had.

I have a screenshot of the advertisement with a timestamp, so there is no confusion about what was being advertised when I called. Despite the promotion, I was told over the phone that I would be charged for the exam/visit. When an advertisement says an exam and X-rays are free, I expect the office to clearly explain any restrictions or exclusions rather than quote a charge when I actually call to use the offer. The promotion was the reason I contacted this office in the first place, and the discrepancy between what was advertised and what I was told on the phone was enough for me to take my business elsewhere. If you are considering this office because of this promotion, I strongly recommend confirming the price before scheduling. Keep a copy of the advertisement and ask them to explain exactly what is and isn't included.

My family has been going to Dr. Gittleman for 20 plus years. My girls have never seen another dentist. We have always had positive experiences. However, both my daughters and I have been unhappy with our last few appointments. Random cancellations to confirming three times and arriving and being told "you don't have an appt". Different hygienists' each visit. Feeling rushed through the appointment from long waits in the lobby to rush you out the door. All of us are now experiencing pain after each cleaning. Rough treatment! Both my girls had braces as teens and say the recent cleanings are more painful than the braces ever were. Cost! We are billed more than insurance covers for bi-yearly scheduled cleanings. I understand that cost's rise but every time we go in it's something new on the bill. My entire adult life the "bi-yearly cleanings and one set of x-rays" was billed and covered by insurance. Now, we are being billed beyond that for routine cleanings. None of us have issues with our teeth that should warrant cost beyond the cleaning. Unfortunately, we are now looking for another dentist office in the area that has their act together.
