Disappointing experience. I took my mother in for a consultation. They came back with a 'treatment plan' that would have cost her $11K - $12K. Just the cleaning alone, separate from treatment, she was quoted $1800. We booked another appointment with another dentist for a second opinion. The treatment plan AND teeth cleaning with the viable dentist practice cost under $500 in total. Little did Aspen Dental know, I have been a treatment coordinator for a pediatric dental practice. I am very familiar with treatments, costs per treatments, how insurance operates, and how dental practices make their money. I would NOT recommend Aspen Dental or at the very least, if you are suggested a treatment plan, please get a second opinion. read more

Dr. Lee was excellent--friendly, thorough, and took the time to answer all of my questions. I felt well cared for and informed throughout the visit. As of 12/16/2025 I am still being notified by my insurance that this front office is filing claims for services that never occurred or worse, revising their billing to get additional funds. Again, I have not been in their building since May 2024 and only had 3 appointments. There is absolutely no reason for them to STILL attempt to bill me 18 months later. They have already refunded me thanks to opening a claim with my insurance and the Georgia attorney general. I clearly do not owe them anything else. First, scheduled my appointment in the morning, so I did not sit and wait....still waited almost 30 minutes. Then I spoke with the team and informed them "that I have a fear of dentist and they mentioned they would be gentle." Two minutes in with a water pic and a chainsaw - I got cut. Hurt like hell. "Sorry, Sorry" they responded Then throughout the rest of the 10 minutes of hell, I was uncomfortable and jumpy. They asked me to try to sit still. Horrible place. Had wisdom teeth surgery April of 2025 and the oral surgeon they had chosen for me DESTROYED my mouth. It is september of 2025 and my chin area is still numb. I cried right before going under as the doctor made fun of my tattoos and told me i might never feel my mouth again. Worst bedside manners i've EVER experienced. No aftercare or checkups. Horrible experience. One google search on the oral surgeon & it was clear he did regularly do malpractice. I'm continuing to pay off a loan that was pushed onto me by this practice. So frustrated and irritated with Aspen dental. I was on my way to my 0730 appointment when they called me to tell me the dentist had called and told them she would not be in today and they had to cancel. This was the second time in 2 weeks this has happened. I ever really pay much attention to yelp reviews, but when I read them today, I see this is a common problem with many offices. The ratings that you see are true. I used this facility in 2016 and I am still traumatized to date. The visitation was the most painful mistake of my life! They extracted two teeth which they shouldn't have. They said a root canal was necessary and proceeded to do it but it failed within two years, and I have been living with the pain to date. What surprises me is that they said that my front teeth will all fall off in two years or less and that I should get some dentures but it is now 7 years since I visited them and my front teeth are still intact. I paid about $5000 for the procedures in addition to my insurance, and the expense was just a rip-off! Main activities were upselling procedures, inflating prices (for example their office manager and not the hygienist or dentist, which is another serious issue, created a treatment schedule that includes four $290 for a scaling/rooting 4+ that costs $110 in many non-insurance dental plans, it would be $680 cheaper pretty much anywhere with a non-insurance dental plan), and letting me sit and stew in their dental exam chair, while they pretended to be busy for 10 to 15 minutes stretches. Their last persuasion/upselling stretch had their business manager come get me off their dental exam chair. I've already reported Ronald Durie to the Georgia Board of Dentistry for this behavior. Now I'm going to do what I can to get my $400 deposit back for a simple tooth extraction procedure that they couldn't schedule for two weeks. There's no way I'm going to let a bunch of people, who conspire together to upsell obviously overpriced ADA coded procedures, ever get near me in any sort of vulnerable position again and neither should you. Another not just questionable but outright bogus claim these folks kept making was my admission on my intake forms that I hadn't been to a dentist in a couple years. Several of their "technicians/hygienists" and their office manager said that I have permanent early/moderate/advanced periodontitis because I admitted that I hadn't been to the dentist in a couple years. True medical experts would make such determinations for themselves, especially when it makes them all sound like used-car salesmen. Their office manager freely engaged in medical diagnosis when she changed my treatment plan radically during out discussions based on what I told her I could afford (she still insisted for medical reasons that I buy a couple scaling/rooting 4+ at 3 times what I've since found in non-insurance dental comparison plans, even though I'm just trying to get a broken tooth extracted). When I asked more about these costs and treatments that have no obvious relation to tooth extraction, their office manager handed me a brochure, which states that Early/Moderate Periodontitis has "bad breath and bad taste", "loose or separating teeth" neither of which I have. The only symptoms I apparently have are some very suspect measurements by one of their supposed dental technicians/hygienists. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely worst service. My previous appointments were canceled without call or any kind of notification. Imagine, you take time from work, waste time driving when you get to the office you get " I am sorry , your appointment was canceled " and you stand there like do you have a courtesy to call an notify me? If I could give them 0 stars I would. THE ABSOLUTE WORST experience ever! My mom went in for dentures and with only minimal numbing, the dentist proceeded to pull ALL her teeth in one sitting. I could hear her cries of pain all the way in the waiting room. Then the dentist had the nerve to tell her she would have to be quiet or else she couldn't work on her teeth! We finally left with my mom, traumatized and bleeding profusely. Next she got fitted for dentures. Had to go back four times because of abrasions. Two times, some "teeth"" from the dentures broke. I made an appointment months ago at my last appointment and was never told that I have to verbally call the office to confirm or the appointment will be automatically canceled. A few days before the appointment I received a text reminder from the office and request for confirmation. I confirmed by text and received a reply text of "thank you for confirming." Then two days before my appointment I was emailed that my appointment was canceled. When I called the office to ask why and to reschedule they told me it was because I did not confirm my appointment verbally over the phone. No one told me when I made the appointment at the last cleaning that I needed to actually call the office to confirm and if that was the case they shouldn't use a text confirmation feature that literally replied "thank you for confirming" and doesn't tell you that you can only confirm by calling over the phone. They did not have any more availability for appointments until April. This office and business is so stupid. They could care less about the incompetence and unprofessionalism that occurred as a result of their own inane policies. After reading some of the other reviews I am so thankful I got an appointment with another dental office. I was obviously irate over such a ridiculous and unprofessional situation especially when they would not find a way to give me back my appointment. If I could give less than one star I would. If I could go back in time to where I had never used this dental office I would. This place is a such a scam. I started seeing this office because I moved near the area and needed a new dentist. They filled some of my cavities but failed to clean the teeth before the procedure so now I have a bacterial infection in two teeth. When talking with the manager that this is negligence she started to list off all the possible risks of the procedure that were explained to me as a way of denying they were at fault, however the dentist never said that a bacterial infection is a potential risk of the procedure. That is because bacterial infections don't happen unless the doctor does not practice aseptic technique. They explained I would need a root canal and when talking to the hygienist about that procedure, she made it out to seem that that procedure is bound to fail as well which would lead to an extraction. Sounds to me like they're purposefully failing at procedures for more money. I found a new dentist who needs the root canal procedure referral and I have called Aspen dental everyday asking for them to send the referral but they keep finding a new excuse as to why they haven't sent it yet. It's been over a week of me asking for this referral and as each day goes by it's getting harder and harder to eat or drink. This is negligence and malpractice at its finest and I am so sorry for any other patient they have f*cked over. read more

Got there, they asked for payment for the new crown and only then was told my crown did not arrive. Why didn't they call me the day before or even the day of so I wouldn't have to make the trip? Let me start by saying that my mom worked in the dental field for 15+ years and I grew up in a dental office. Additionally, I work in a medical office (I know how things should go) This place was less than unsatisfactory. First off. They could not get my insurance correct saying they "couldn't even find the policy holder". Next they got the spelling of my name incorrect MANY TIMES. the spelling of which is important to verify insurance. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with this place prior to my appointment just to get the spelling of my last name correct. By the time I showed up to my appt the spelling of my last name was still incorrect. The people were nice. Yes. But I spent over an hour an a half there to never get a cleaning and have someone who was clearly unqualified to give me X-rays. Further, to hear the staff yelling about how I was the last patient and "close the doors we don't want anyone else coming in" - super unprofessional. And finally... my favorite part..... NEVER have I EVER had to put down a deposit just to MAKE an appt!! Never!! My husband goes to the acworth location and has never had to pay a dime to MAKE an appt. Absolutely ridiculous. Went for my first cleaning at Aspen (new patient). The hygienist wasn't rude, albeit, she wasn't exactly friendly either. She had my teeth cleaned in under 20 minutes (fastest ever for me!), and provided no feedback; good, bad or indifferent. Hands down the best dental experience I've had. I operate a group of medical offices, so I understand the challenges around scheduling, insurances, and performing thorough exams all while trying to deliver an exceptional patient experience. The team at the Kennesaw location made It look easy. Every last one of them did It with huge smiles on their faces, clearly loved what they do, and made me feel like a friend. I overheard some other casual interactions while there (twice in 2 weeks, once for follow-up) and I can say they extended that personal touch to more than just me. I came in for an extraction but they insisted on taking a full spectrum x-ray, then x-rayed every tooth in my mouth one by one. I only needed an x-ray of the tooth that needed pulling. They came up with a super expensive 'plan' to fix all my teeth and insisted that my tooth couldn't be pulled unless they cleaned my teeth first. Said cleaning cost over $1,000. I went in thinking I would spend about $200, but ended up paying over $1,373 plus change. I'm never going back. read more

I am reviewing this place now even though I went there several years ago from the sub par work they did and over charged me for still has me going thru pain yearly. I called and asked how much for a tooth extraction the gave me a price so I made and appointment when I went in the then told me they could not just pull the tooth they would have to do a surgical extraction and charged me a good bit higher price for the surgical extraction over a regular tooth pull and made me pay before they performed the service. They had a nurse do everything the doctor came into the room pulled the tooth did not do the surgical extraction they charged me for and was the quickest tooth pull I have ever had he was in the room 3 mins. At most so I asked him about the upcharge for the service they did not do he said I have to take that up with the front office. I went to them and they said the do not give any refunds at all witch I felt was ridiculous being they charged me for a service they did not do. On top of that he left several piece of the tooth still in gums that wind up pushing their was out and causes a lot of pain, the 1st time i called them and explained they left parts of the tooth in my gum causing pain and hoped the would correct it and the stated the had me sign a paper that said they are not responsible for parts of teeth left and I would have to pay again witch i refused. I have already has 3 pieces come out now there is a 4 piece that has been hurting for a month now and it is now to the point that it is more painful then the tooth I had pulled in the 1st pace and I am going to have to pay again to get it removed after I already paid for a surgical extraction on this tooth that I did notreceivel.again I have had several teeth pulled over years at other dentists and had never been charged so high and never had pieces of teeth left in my gums. Solid experience all around. I've been having a toothache for a very long time, and I cannot afford to go to a dentist due to the fact I do not have insurance. My girlfriend googled around, and found these guys online with a very positive review for people who do not have insurance. They were affordable, very friendly, and and very professional. They offer everybody a free check up as their first time going there, was a free x-ray. After discovering that I had multiple cavities, and my toothache coming from a rotten tooth, I met with their dentist, who said that he prefers to save peoples teeth, but, in my case, a full extraction would be necessary. I then met with their finance people, who offer me a very good deal, which would include a full extraction, all of my cavities filled, and bridges in my mouth where necessary. Unfortunately, I cannot afford all that, but, I did get an extraction. They said that if I had any issues with my extraction, to please call them back so that they could help me out in anyway shape or form. To add a little bit of icing on top of the cake, their finance people strongly encouraged me to go get insurance, and that if I found one that I liked, or several ones I liked, to bring any paperwork back to their office, and they would gladly help me pick an insurance plan that will be perfect for me. First let me start with my husband did not have insurance so we paid cash for a tooth to be removed the dentist did not even wait to make sure that he was numb before he started to try to remove the tooth my husband was trying to explain how our dentist used a certain type of machine to numb he told my husband "you should just go back to your fancy dentist " then after he pulled the tooth he didnt even make sure the bleeding was controlled before basically kicking him out the chair. After being told that my bridge would be ready on 30 April and showing up for my appointment, I was told that, gee, sorry, it won't be ready until Friday, and the doctor said she left you a message. I have three phone numbers and they have them all, and no message was left at any of them. Meanwhile, they couldn't see me until Monday, 7 May. (When the doctor saw me sitting in the waiting room, she looked flustered, scampered out and never said a word to me. That is the only message I got from her that day.) Saturday, 5 May, I woke up to find my "temporary" bridge floating loose in my mouth, and when I set about putting it back, it broke into three pieces. (This was not my first attempt at putting it back, but it was the first time it had broken.) Naturally, this was one of the Saturdays when they were not open, so I had to find another dentist who could reconstruct it and put it back in for me, to the tune of $113. I had already spent nearly $3,000 on this entire procedure and was pretty dissatisfied at having to wait for the extra week to get the permanent bridge, so I honestly don't think asking for a refund in the amount of the unexpected dentist trip is unreasonable, considering I was seriously thinking of asking for much more than that back. Also, I had been told that if it broke while I was waiting to get my permanent bridge, I could come in and they would fix it for me. Since I couldn't wait two days with dental nerves exposed, this was not an option, so in my opinion, there should never have been a debate about refunding me this money. When I spoke to the office manager on the 7th about getting my $113 refunded, she said she would have to talk to the regional manager (Brooke Adkins or Atkins) about it. I called her on the 8th and she said she would give the regional manager my phone number and have her call me. After waiting two more days to hear from the regional manager, I called the office manager back on the 10th and she said she would have an answer for me tomorrow. I spent the better part of "tomorrow" (the 11th) playing telephone tag with Ms Adkins/Atkins, calling her right back after the one time she called me, and calling her repeatedly numerous times after. I have not heard back from anyone at Aspen since then at any of my three phone numbers, and after the Great Aspen Humpty Dumpty Dental Debacle of 2018, I would not recommend anyone seeking treatment there.
