When I arrived they had an incomplete file, no treatment plan and despite giving them my insurance info for them to verify a week prior they never did that. Instead when I show up she hands me a treatment plan that includes repairs for two crowns despite there only being one crown, (rather than change that she says "well just leave that on there in case insurance bounces is back. Uh no. She walks a way for a second and comes back and says I don't have any benefits left that I used them up at the Endo. No ma'am, those visits were on my wife's primary plan because mine wasn't active yet. She comes back with well the insurance office isn't open yet so. I went back and forth with her explaining that she can call the automated number and it will tell her that I haven't used any of my benefits. Rather than do that she walks away I take off the bib and decide that I don't want these people anywhere near my mouth. I begin to leave and she is calling me back, I walk out of the office and miss incompetent follows me out the door and says "really dude, f&$! you then" and slammed the door. I turned around and went back in and called her out on not having the right info or even the right tooth. The office manager I guess wanted to flex and demands I leave. Okay Barbra, if your lazy receptionist wouldn't have followed me out to my vehicle to cuss me out we wouldn't be here right now. Terrible front desk gate keeps what genuinely seemed like a really nice dentist. I likely would have rescheduled and over looked the lazy and incompetence but following me out to my vehicle to tell me "f&$! you then", was a bridge too far. 0/10 do not recommend. Side note, I was able to verify my insurance and current benefit level before I even left the parking lot. It took less than 2 minutes using the automated line There was zero abusive behavior towards your team. The opposite in fact. Strange how you have tried to get my reviews pulled down though. My review isn't that uncommon there is a reason you are at a 4.2 and dropping lots of similar experiences to mine.

After reading Acworth Dental's lowest google review from 4 years ago by Caitlin Conn, it was like Deja vu. My wife and I moved to the Governors Towne Club in Feb 2023 and after settling into the community we eventually began to select businesses and various medical and dental practices to serve our family needs. We landed on Acworth Dental and Dr. Daniel Lee for routine cleanings. My wife is fortunate enough to have little or no issues with her teeth. On the other hand, I have had a few fillings, a root canal and a few crowns along the way. I have been lucky enough to have had excellent dentists who have provided what I have considered only necessary and quality dental work. After reading the biology professor's, review of Acworth Dental I felt a very uncomfortable feeling come over me. I had the same experience of Dr. Lee putting a "watch" on a tooth. The next thing I know he recommends drilling out an old filling and crowning the tooth. The drilling went on for hours. And I left with a temporary that lasted for a day. I returned and they reinstalled the temporary. If I had researched Dr. Lee's reviews (Caitlin Conn's) I would have gotten a second opinion prior to allowing Dr Lee to crown my tooth. Dr. Lee took x-rays and pictures of my tooth to give me confidence that the crown was necessary. I am the type of person who confides in a healthcare provider until I feel I have a reason not to. Dr. Lee stated prior to starting the procedure that I had a "Hairline crack" in the identified tooth he had been "watching". He never mentioned or recommended having a 3-D CT Scan of the tooth to confirm the severity of the crack in my tooth. Since I obviously have no dental training, I had no idea that there was another type of X-ray available that Dr Lee had not and could not provide because he did not possess the proper equipment until after the procedure of drilling out my tooth and installing a ~$1,500.00 crown. After returning home from Acworth Dental and the numbing wearing off, I immediately felt sensitivity to cold water. Hoping it would eventually improve, I waited a couple of days before calling back for advice. Dr. Lee had his assistant recommend I go to an Endodontist outside of his practice for. 3-D Scan to determine if the tooth was cracked all the way through. I was horrified to say the least to find that he had drilled away a significant part of a tooth as well as left a sharp edge on an adjacent tooth with a gold crown without first confirming the full condition of the tooth. I was also told that the 3-D scan would reveal to the Endodontist whether or not the tooth was cracked beyond repair and identify if it would require a Root Canal or Extraction. I called the Endodontist to inquire about the cost and to make an appointment. They quoted over $300.00. I decided that before spending an additional $300+ on my newly crowned tooth, that I would speak with Dr. Lee at Acworth Dental to confirm that he would refund or apply the $1,500.00 I had just spent with him a week or two before, to the remedy cost of a Root Canal or Extraction and Implant if was so deemed necessary by the Endodontist. Each remedy procedure would be in great excess of the $1,500.00 I had already spent. When I sat down with Dr.Lee yesterday to discuss his decision not to conduct a 3-D Scan of my cracked tooth prior to the Crowning procedure he said he didn't normally do that. "Not the right answer" by my standards. I asked why he recommended it after the fact, and then he reversed his recommendation and stated he didn't think it was necessary and I would be wasting $300.00. I asked him if I had the 3-D CT Scan, and it was determined that the tooth required one of the aforementioned procedures to remedy the situation, would he refund or apply the $1,500 already paid. I believe he gambled with my tooth and pocket book to ensure I bought a crown. He stated he would NOT refund and he had to pay "his girls", lab, supplies etc. the most he would agree to do wold be a $300 Extraction if necessary in less than one year. That's only 20% of what I have already spent. It is my understanding that this practice does crowns "all day long every day"!

Have you ever done this service before? What did you charge last time? They insisted I needed to come in for an $85 exam to determine IF I would need a referral. "We're gonna need to charge ya a hundred bucks to tell ya if we sell skittles or not." Do you or do you not know the services you provide? What is the policy for making referrals? I'm pretty sure I was using industry standard terms and at no time was i impolite. The services in question were for replacing a permanent or bonded retainer and teeth cleaning. The receptionist spoke down to me in a patronizing tone. Against my better judgement I choose to stay and have a crown replacement complete by Dr. Solomon, only to find out on day of appt, I was passed on to Dr. Iyer's replacement, the new dentist. It went downhill from there - injuring my tongue during the crown removal, a 90 min procedure was 3 hrs, with no explanation or apology. When I reminded the tx coordinator Dr. Iyer offered to replace composite filing at no charge, she tried to contest it. It was supposed to be done at my deat appt, it wasn't. No mention at all. So many other small issues, that all added up. Office manager Holly was rude and abrasive, saying this office is her "family" and they treat patients like family. My family isn't rude and condescending, saying she doesn't have time for my complaint. What a disgrace that this is the management representation for a growing professional dental practice. I have been going to West Cobb Dentistry for 3 plus years since moving out to Georgia from California. I miss Dr. Chase Hall but the new dentist they brought on, Dr. Couk is fantastic. You can tell he has extensive experience and is very knowledgeable. He will go in depth what your symptoms are, root cause of the problem. Then he will lay out remedies and options for you. Unlike some dentists that try to sell you more services and products, he is looking out for your best interest. Believe me, I have had a dentist try to sell me a teeth guard that costs several hundred dollars telling me I can lift more weights! And of course, the staff here is magnificent! Even if you have dental insurance, unfortunately the cost of getting dental treatment is not cheap. I have had to get two crowns so far and Kellie Guffin has been very helpful with the process. I think being informed and knowing what the cost impact is going to be is very important. And I must add that the hygienists are very thorough and gentle. For the world of me I could not get my husband to get his teeth cleaned as he does not like going to the dentist but I "tricked" him to going and got help from the staff No need to say he booked his next teeth cleaning appointment. I hated to even smile because two teeth in front were turning brown and I had a bridge that didn't line up with my teeth and the color was off. Dr. Kirshenbaum worked on them and we capped them and matched them to the bridge color. She made sure that my caps lined up with the bridge and they are all the same color. Now I have pretty teeth and I love to smile. I have had other work done by the other dentist and they were super nice and did good work. The staff is so friendly and helpful.
