She was quite kind and informed me of what to expect from each procedure. After a 20 minute wait, Dr Do performed some tests and examination and explained some of the results to me. They said another test was needed. But it could not be completed today. I asked if it was because my eyes had been dilated. Dr. Do said no the person who does that test doesn't work on Tuesdays. I expressed my frustration that I was scheduled for a glaucoma exam and one of the people who performs a glaucoma test doesn't work on the day my appt was scheduled. Dr Do quite rudely responded with"What do you want me to do?" Not in an I'm here to help way but in the you are unreasonable and I am annoyed way. Even though it was more than reasonable for me to be frustrated that I would need to come back for a second appt due to this lack of patient consideration in scheduling. I said you could start by not being rude. At which point, Dr. Do very slowly laid one hand in his lap and placed the other on top, leaned forward and as condescendingly as possible said, "She's not here today." At this point, not wanting to be treated in this manner again, I asked if I could see another dr on my return. Dr. Do said yes, grabbed his clipboard, very curtly said go to the front desk and stormed out of the exam room. By the time I gathered my things and walked out into the hallway, Dr. Do was at the reception desk impatiently waving for me to hurry down the hall. Some of the information Dr. Do had provided was confusing to me and some of my questions went unasked because of his abrupt end to my appt. I did call to ask my questions but there was some guesswork involved in the answers I received because I was not talking to a doctor. Maybe I'm wrong, but I expect more respect, maturity and patient concern from a doctor who involved in my care. Maybe the other doctors in your office are more capable of understanding and caring for patients. However, at this point, I do not feel at all comfortable returning to an environment. where I've experienced such an extreme lack of professionalism and consideration.

I am deeply disappointed in the care my Dad received from Northwest Eye Surgeons and Dr. Rostov…read more Despite placing his trust in them for cataract surgery in March 2022, my Dad was met not with compassion or medical excellence, but with indifference, excuses, and substandard results. In March 2022, my Dad underwent cataract surgery with vision correction on both eyes. One eye, however, was left with only 20/40 vision, and both eyes now have numerous black dots that partially block his vision in the outer corners. This was far from the expected outcome, and even Dr. Rostov and her team acknowledged at the time that this result did not meet expectations. But by April 2022, the tone shifted. Dr. Rostov and her team offered explanations that were not only incorrect but astonishingly careless. First, they tried to blame the outcome on diabetes--despite my Dad not being diabetic. It's shocking that such an unfounded excuse would even be suggested. Then, they blamed retinal issues, citing a referral they themselves had made to a retina specialist. This, too, was baseless, as my Dad's retina was confirmed to be healthy. These attempts to deflect responsibility felt dismissive and unprofessional. Between April and September 2022, we pursued every avenue they suggested--multiple follow-ups, eye drops, and laser treatments--but none of it helped. In September, when we tried to schedule the next recommended follow-up, we were suddenly told we'd have to pay out of pocket, despite it being part of the plan to address the ongoing issues. This was incredibly disheartening. In May 2023, we met with Lance Baldwin, the "COO". His response was cold and devoid of empathy. He insisted the outcomes were acceptable and even scoffed when we mentioned reporting to the Washington Medical Commission, implying they had inside connections and had no reason to be concerned. This arrogance was shocking. In June 2024, my Dad sought help through the UW medical network. After thorough evaluations, the doctors concluded that his ongoing problems--black dots and glare--were due to issues with the lens implants themselves, particularly reflections from the edges of the lenses. This confirmed what we had suspected all along. In August 2024, Cookie Dalgado stepped in, offering some hope. But after my Dad declined their proposed terms, they completely ghosted us, despite promising a response by the end of that week. This entire ordeal--from the surgery in March 2022 through the months of follow-ups and attempts to find solutions--has been long, painful, and exhausting. We made countless visits in good faith, always hoping for a resolution. My Dad, who is 80 years old and doesn't speak English, has suffered deeply, both physically and emotionally. For months after the surgery, he couldn't sleep due to discomfort and anxiety over his vision. It is truly heartbreaking to see an elderly man treated this way--dismissed and left to suffer as if he were nothing more than a burden. Northwest Eye Surgeons' handling of my Dad's care has been profoundly disappointing and, frankly, inhumane.

I was…read moreso nervous after being treated at Northwest Eye Surgeons horribly and having been put in situation that potentially could have been life or death. As a healthcare provider, I am very careful and particular about my providers, having seen a lot in my 40 years. Dr. Sun was AWESOME! He took on my case immediately, and the care I received from beginning to the end was superb! Let me start with the office staff, they were unbelievably helpful, I had to have my surgery in an OR, not a procedure area. They took on the scheduling and insurance company with finesse!!! In fact, we thought it would be a month or more to get approval. It took about a week. They were accommodating in scheduling both before and after surgery. They are amazing!!! Dr. Sun was an outstanding provider. Unlike other clinics, he did not try to upsell me, trying to make more money. He presented my options clearly, and he was honest about which lenses he recommended. He did not try to push me into buying the most expensive types, letting me know both the good and bad of each lense. I NEVER felt pressured or like I was in a cattle call, just trying to get as many surgeries and as much money as he could make. My surgery had complications completely UNRELATED to my medical treatment, and directly related to having waited too long and having a complex cataract. This required much follow-up. I can not tell you how impressed I was with how available he was at the drop of a hat. He followed up with me later in the day after my surgery, personally calling. He followed up with me the next day, and for the next month. I had to go in urgently to address issues, and when I called the response was immediate. His office staff immediately had me come in. He was patient, kind, caring, and very willing to answer my and my husband's questions. In the hospital, as I was getting prepped for surgery, the staff was talking about him. They had great things to say about him, and they complimented him on his care and treatment of staff and patients. Those kind of recommendations do not come lightly, and as I was very nervous pre-op, this helped with relieving my high anxiety. Yes, his building is old and in a weird place, but once you are in the doors, you are treated very well, and the care you receive is outstanding! I have recommended him to many of my fellow colleagues and friends. One of my family has worked for an eye dr for years, she intends to go to him for her cataract surgery. With my eye healed, I am ecstatic about being able to see, not realizing how bad my vision had gotten. I am grateful EVERY day for the surgery and how lucky I am to have had him as my partner in this cataract journey. I have another cataract that needs to be addressed in the future, and I am relieved that the decision of who to go too has been made. That is half the battle right there.

I don't think all these one star reviews has anything to do with Dr. Sun's ability to provide a proper vision care! I've been under Dr. Sun's care for almost a decade. I receive annual diabetic eye exams and recently received two cataract surgeries from him with complete satisfaction! My eyes are unusually complicated due to multiple RK surgeries that went wrong about thirty years ago. I've been to many ophthalmologists but I trust Dr. Sun for my vision care with total confidence. He is a good doctor and a surgeon. Visits with him are precise, short and sweet. He doesn't waste your time with running you room to room running unnecessary tests to bill your insurance. He is knowledgeable, genuinely caring an excellent surgeon. He doesn't rush you and answers all your questions so you always leave his office satisfied. He cares about his patient so much that he actually called me several times to check on me after every surgery even when he was on vacation! How many doctors do that? So for great eye care, I give him two thumbs up!!

If you need a refill on a prescription, good luck. You will call, be placed on a hold and someone with little experience will try and message your doctor (or will say they will and won't). Half the time you have to call back again and they act surprised that a refill had been requested. My doctor used to spend a good 20 minutes with me (I have dry eye) and now she rushes in, discourages talking, and is out in 8- 10 minutes. This is after waiting for 50 minutes while they make me do a regular eye exam, even though I get my contacts and eye glasses somewhere else (Thank God I don't have to deal with them in that capacity!!). Their patient portal is also a headache. You can't leave any messages to your care provider -- only to make appointments (once again saving them money so they don't have to pay a person to talk to you). If you need timely help, count them out. I am going to look for a smaller sized provider to get more personalized service.

There was no explanation of what the testing stations were - just a "put your chin here". By the time I got to Dr Nash (who did none of the examining) I already felt uneasy. When telling him I was just being honest in saying I needed to get my glasses on Zenni, he was polite, understanding, and friendly. The exam was quick, we talked about how the new glasses would help neck pain and eye strain. I told him I would love to have one place I go back to again and again for eye care as I don't have insurance for it and am paying time of service. I cannot recommend Seattle Optical and Dr. Hoffman highly enough.

I have a pretty involved vision-rehab regimen, and some specialty lenses had been sent to me from a practice I attend across the country. They come from ONE lab. Not replicable. I needed them installed in the frame I'd been wearing. This is a service a lot of opticians will offer, gratis, like bending stems or adjusting frames, getting new pads. But: it DOES take time, and I wasn't in care there. o: it's a pro bono service near CoB. Frankly, I have a stack of eye clinics I go to, and a couple extra pairs of frames -- BUT if the $300 *lenses* don't have a frame to go in, well, that's time + $. For whatever reason, the frame broke just getting the old lens out. That CAN happen to ANYONE, though there IS a skill component to it. Age/wear of frame CAN be the issue, and if the lens is thick, that can, too. So this isn't any place to assign any blame. But -- everyone feels antsy, now. I braced for dealing with getting a pair of frames marked/shipped, and out more $ to get another pair of lenses. Not how anyone wants to end the business week. The staff tell me they'll try to find a frame the lenses will fit in, and install them, give me a free pair. Wow. Well, that helps. This is not easy to do. They have a large selection of frames, and they didn't feel confident about what they had. So, I spent :20 or so looking for a frame I'd be willing to replace with, besides what they were looking at, explaining what I needed out of a frame, generally, for my rehab. Staff are starting to head home, and do. The store thins out -- soon it's down to two staff and me. The manager is working with me, and she pulls the best-fit out: not my best color, but I'm doing rehab, and I'm not going to worry about color. We try the old lens and it fits ok, goes in ok. She puts in the new one for that side, starts to try the other side, and then... that frame breaks, too. Lordy. She finds another 'also-ran' for fit of lens, and works with that. Women do not have as much hand strength as men, as a rule, and we are concerned about the calluses on her thumbs. She's getting a hand workout, using hand tools and heat. Somehow, she manages to open up the 2nd frame enough with the old lenses that, on a 2nd round, the new lenses fit. Success! Success for me, but writing off TWO pairs of frames to maintain goodwill on a free service for her and the store. Need to recognize it was more than the near HOUR and a HALF of time she gave me. Someone gets to write off two frames. I don't expect that kind of service, and I don't such service that much, but General Manager Jennifer Gwinn is running a pretty conscientious business, I'd say, and I'd like folks to know. I can't speak to quality of frames, or their lab for lenses, or anything about their clinician who refracts, but I can say the shop is convenient, has good deck parking, is bright, clean, and well organized, and I will certainly commended them for honest hard work and a commitment to service. It was a bit of a nightmare to realize that you had your exams done at a place that does not facilitate adequate selections for those with wide heads. Every pair should come with optional widths. I left empty handed and still needing a pair of glasses. Update: I'm so glad that I didn't settle for a pair here. I found a delightful pair at another store. For anyone reading this - look for your frames before you sign up for an exam. If they don't have frames that work - find a new place to have your exam done.

When my longtime PCP left Kaiser several months ago, I wondered whether I would be able to find another doctor with the same level of dedication and mutual respect that I value in a physician-patient relationship. Today I met Dr. Martin Levine and came away very impressed. He is an exceptional listener and was fully present during our visit. His questions about my medical history and current health were thoughtful and specific rather than routine or generic. What impressed me most was the thoughtfulness of his clinical judgment--his questions clearly reflected a careful effort to understand the full picture of my health. His manner was relaxed, professional, and genuinely caring, and I left the appointment feeling confident that my health is in very capable hands. I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Levine and am very pleased to call him my primary care physician.

Since I fractured the right kneecap two years ago in a previous fall, I wanted to get X-rays at Northgate. The appointing person told me that KP had recently banned walk-in X-rays and now required one have an in-person appointment with a doc to see if the patient is worthy of getting X-rays. The new rule is that walk-ins are banned from getting X-rays. A patient has to make an appointment to see a doctor BEFORE X-rays. This makes no sense at all. In the past, my doctor would order X-rays and meet with me later to discuss the results. This is totally backwards. KP also recently banned patients from being able to reply to a doctor's message on My Chart. KP keeps coming up with new ways to keep patients away from practioners, in order to increase revenue flowing to its obscenely-overpaid KP CEO, Gregory Adams. I like my doctors a lot but I don't like spending hours per week fighting with the mindless KP bureaucracy to get care. It's exhausting, particularly whe one is 75 and dealing with multiple health issues.
