I couldn't stop taking photos/vids b/c there was a photo op everywhere I turned. Even though I've been here numerous times b4, this was the 1st time I really slowed down & took in how beautiful everything is. It ended up being a really meaningful & peaceful experience. The walk itself was special,& the park made it feel even more uplifting & memorable!

The park has an inspiring story too; it used to be a dirty, concrete river channel but was turned into a lively green space. It even won awards like the American Planning Association's "Great Places in America." It has a modern carousel pavilion that's great for families, along with a sparkling fountain and an ice skating rink. There's lots of benches scattered along the path by trees. You can hear the water flowing over rocks or enjoy community events such as outdoor movies, fitness classes, or summer concerts. Whether you're seeking calm by the river or the energy of a weekend event, the park offers a little escape right in the heart of Stamford.

Quiet and peaceful. The parking lot (free parking!) is a potholed mess. But the 3/4 mile gravel walking path is in good shape. Lots of geese pooping all over the grass. Stay on the walking path. If you attempt to venture down to waters edge you will encounter empty beer cans, tons of broken glass and condom wrappers. (Why is Stamford such a pit?)

Looking at Kosciuszko Park, I saw that there was no fee, only fees for using the common area/Gazebo. We got there at about 5PM on a Friday afternoon. As noted on the website, there is no fee to enter the park. There is a large parking lot there and the only people that were in the park were a few runners and a few local older groups who seem to be regulars. The walking trails are gravel and dirt with lots of goose poop in the grass, so you can kiss those fresh all white sneakers goodbye if you are not careful. The park is a nice free option to get some good views while taking a walk. I do plan on returning on the nicer days to the visit the other fee-based parks, including Cove Island Park, as they seem to be a lot bigger and offer more to do.

There was plenty of parking throughout the park, including some improvised parking near the tennis courts. We headed for the nature trails which were well-maintained. There were SO MANY BUGS in the trails so come prepared! After spending a bit of time in the trails, we hit the playgrounds. There is one gated area for smaller kids and a bigger playground for big kids. They also have public restrooms near the little grill they have by the baseball fields. The bathroom was clean.

Police claim BLT should enforce the rules and BLT tell you to call the police. The playground is fairly unusable nowadays as certain groups of parents let their unruly, overaged (10-15) kids run amok here - makes it impossible for 2-6 year olds to play safely. Until BLT addresses these issues, it's best to stay away from the commons.

You will see the pretty fountain and the small paths that wind through this little parklet/town square of sorts. It's got a kids playground, and a little snack bar that's open on nice days. It is the focus for some outdoor events during the nice parts of the year, where a lot of local businesses sponsor things like cornhole tournaments and such. I wouldn't call this a destination park by any means, it's mostly served as a place for me to walk through while I head over to nearby businesses, but it is a nice little feature for the area.

My husband and I stumbled upon Earthplace today while in Westport. We are so happy we did. Upon…read moredriving up you could see two distinct spaces; nature trails and main animal building. We weren't prepared for nature walks so we just viewed the trails. That is absolutely something we will come back to do. Today we decided to do the animal sanctuary. When you first go up to the building, make sure to look down and see the animal prints in the sidewalk. The price was $10 per adult (less per child) and we were happy to pay it since it went directly for the care of the animals. We started in the hall with the small critters. There is also a playroom for smaller kids. They have some centers and a huge tree in the middle of the room. There is a smaller kid section and a little nature movie theater. Very cute. We loved the critters and birds. Two in particular were VERY social. Pecans (an artistic dancing pigeon) and E.T. (a lovable turkey vulture). We spent a lot of time interacting with these two. We had some interactions with the staff and caretakers and it was pretty obvious these animals are well loved. The animals there are either surrendered or injured. We left with some items from the little shop-including art from Pecans. We will absolutely be returning. This was such a happy find!

62 acre peaceful nature sanctuary with easy, mostly flat and well marked, clear trails to enjoy…read morethe outdoors. Earthplace is a wonderful educational place for children and adults alike. The entrance to the building has a custom tile mural that is uniquely wonderful. You pay to view the animals are check out the dioramas, animals and exhibits inside.You can see the birds of prey which were rescued from the wild due to their injuries. You can go during feeding time. The entrance fees help to pay for the food and care of the animals. Wonderful space to get outdoors and appreciate nature. We saw a turtle, wild turkeys, chipmunks, birds and butterflies walking the trails. I will come back to enjoy this refuge and experience the postive effects of being out in nature.

There really aren't any facilities here other than hiking, but the hiking is quite pretty with a lot of mature trees, and lots of nice color during the fall. We enjoyed taking a nice stroll on both sides of this park. It's probably not really a destination park, but if you live nearby it's definitely worth checking out.

The grass is very brown currently but I had no issues with that because of the large event being hosted with many dogs doing their business there. I can see why you wouldn't want to sit on the grass, here, because of the dog event. However, this was the perfect location. There are a few benches by the water which is nice. Overall, this is a nice park and a perfect venue to host events.

The parking is sort of tricky to figure out, because it looks like you're driving into the maintenance area, but there's a parking lot for the public there as well. This is a mostly flat space along the water with a few trees, and some benches and public art. There's a skate park here, but it looks to only be open for limited hours and days, and has a fee. This park is often used for summer concerts, so there will be occasional days where it's closed off for setup. It's a nice little park for a short walk, perhaps a place to eat lunch and watch the boats tooling around the harbor when the weather is nice.
