Then 3 days later was instructed to complete a very detailed filing questionnaire and instructions that our return would not be filed on time without if. We would have been fine with that if this was explained ahead of time instead of so close to 4/15. The filing review meeting was rushed and average. No tax strategies were explored for that year nor any tangible actions for the next year. Then we were given the bill which was over $2,000. Our 2024 filing was nearly a 3rd of that amount and experiences with our long-term preparer from 2006 - 2023 (who retired) was less a 1/4 for 2023. Both were professional tax advisors, and we had no major changes to our finances. We asked why it was so high and were given no plausible answer other than that is what they charge. I don't believe the Porsche's in their parking lot belong to clients. Lastly, very odd, the door to their office looked like we were entering an amateur workshop. We had concerns their premises were secure.

This does not excuse poor communication and not getting things submitted on time despite many attempts to address questions in advance from my end. I was reassured that all was going as needed until someone finally suggested that I might be better off finding another accountant when it was already too late for me to do so. They did do me the favor of not charging me for my business return, which counteracted the IRS penalty, but my overall tax preparation bill was still substantially higher than both returns done by my previous accountant the year before and my new accountant this year. Hopefully mine was just an unfortunate product of a bad year by this accountant, but I felt that the amount of frustration the entire process caused necessitated me writing this review.

I definitely do not recommend CB Solutions. At one point they might have been a great company but…read moremy experience with them was horrible. I first contacted CB Solutions in January of 2019 about basic cleanup of my Quickbooks Online Account. I run a retail business and wanted help with some basic questions about how it was auto-importing. They responded in a few days and we chatted more. They asked for access to my Quickbooks Online so I gave it to them so that they could do a look and give a quote. A few weeks later I had heard nothing from them so I contacted them again. They told me they needed my bank statements then (which seemed odd since it was all auto-imported) but whatever. No word for another few weeks. Contact them again, they finally five me a quote on the March 12th over a month and a half after I first contacted them. Mind you, they've already done some work at this point. They quoted me $2000, and I paid $1000 upfront. I should have never paid them a dime. I ran into constant frustrations of them not responding to me in a timely manner. They never reached out to me unless I contacted them first. They also continually screwed up my books. I kept given them very specific numbers to be added to my Quickbooks or numbers to be corrected, and they CONTINUALLY failed to change them, or would change them to something that I didn't say. Again this was done only after I would log into my Quickbooks and see they had entered the wrong info, then they'd edit it, not tell me they had "fixed" it and I'd go see it a day or two later and see they had done it wrong again. This cycle happened up until April 11th, 4 days before taxes were due. On April 11 (over 3 months since I first contacted them) I sent them an email essentially saying that I was not happy, that my books still weren't done, that a bunch of stuff was still messed up even though I had repeatedly told them to fix the things, and that I was finding someone else to finish my books. They responded almost instantly and told me that they would have everything done by tomorrow. At which point they fixed like the 5 things that were messed up and sent me an email saying they were done within a day. Ugh, why couldn't that have happened back in February! I talked with one of their employees about the email and bill and said I didn't feel like I owed them more due to the fact that they didn't do it in a timely manner, they didn't do it right, and that I had to CONSTANTLY bug them. He said they would talk about the bill and send me a bill and explanation of why they felt I still owed them or didn't. It's now May 1st and I got an email last night that was automated from their billing system saying I owe another $1000 (with a 20% discount due to "delay in service") with no explanation, no apology, nothing. Just a bill and small discount. All this said, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL! You will be frustrated, annoyed, waste your time, and waste your money. After all that I don't feel more confident in my Quickbooks numbers, I feel LESS confident. I had more of a headache than if I had just spent the time to do this all myself. What a nightmare.
