To say my experience with Martin Hunter CPA's office was good would be the insult of the century. I've been having Yevon do my returns and other tax "issues" for a couple of years now and this year doing my 2015 returns she blew the top off the stack. I walked in owing a back tax of $9,100.00, from a year that I wasn't involved with the CPA office.. In her own time, off of the schedule, I received several calls and emails detailing every step of the tax year and previous tax debts. By the time it was all over with, not only was my $9,100.00 cleared and no longer owed, the IRS owed me roughly $1,000.00 !!!!!! Lets see HR Block do something like that!! I can't say enough good things. Every year is good but this year was an epic display of professionalism and true hard work.. Yevon is a total rock star. I highly recommend Martin Hunter CPA. One of the best CPA firm I've ever worked with. They offer relatively fair fee structure. Office is in Beaverton off of Baseline and 185th with flexible hours if you make appointment in advance. When I was looking for a CPA last year I had a hard time finding one that opened past 5:30PM. Mason Hunter (Son) from the firm did my taxes last year and I was very satisfied with his work and customer service. Mason's mom works at the front desk and she was very helpful when I called to ask preliminary questions. It is a family owned business so they treat their customers with high touch. My wife and I were nervous at first going into an unknown CPA office with no recommendations; however, after looking online and reading some reviews, we decided to give Martin D. Hunter CPA's group a chance. We had a bad experience over the last 2 years with our prior CPA, and having to deal with lost information, missing tax forms, etc, it is no wonder we were gun shy. We worked with Jenny (who is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and very kind) and she took the time to work with us, understand our hesitations, work through what we needed to provide, and then moved the process along quickly. With our prior CPA, we were used to being told the process would take a couple of weeks when we would turn our return paperwork in early February, but then an extension or 2 later, we were still waiting for the filing to happen well after April 15th. Not with this team! Jenny told us due to the volume of returns in the office currently and with the complexity of our return, it would be about 3 weeks, give or take a day or 2. It was 3 weeks to the day when we came in, and everything was ready. The staff were excellent to work with; no lingering issues, no questionable practices, and everything was transparent and above board. If I had known they were here, I would have moved from our CPA years ago and saved some really frustrating hassles! I feel it is odd to say, but I am actually looking forward to working with this CPA team more in the coming years and am not dreading tax time, now knowing what is really needed and what I can do in advance to save some time and money. I would encourage anyone who is as hesitant, frustrated, upset, or disillusioned as I was to give this team a chance. You will not be disappointed!
