Bruce pulled up at Lawless Brewing in North Hollywood this past weekend, and I was impressed! Smoky-sweet, medium-thick sauce. Flavourful meat (we had pulled pork). The beans were kind of a mix between classic southern pit and Heinz British beans, smoky and tomatoey - very tasty. The bun was a soft hoagie-type roll, and though I don't care for Memphis-style sandwiches, the slaw was pretty good (we got one Memphis-style and one with no slaw). I ordered for a catering event/party on the weekend. We had trays of the brisket, pork, mac n cheese, potato salad, coleslaw and beans. OMG the beans! Everything was delicious and Bruce was excellent to work with and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this business. read more

Fist time here and called ahead to make sure there was still stuff to order as it was closer to closing time. Was told almost a full menu is available and was very happy to hear that. Went right down and my wife and I both ordered the pulled pork sandwich after trying a sample, also ordered a side of beans and potato salad but there are a few other options available. Literally did not even have to chew the meat was so tender and juicy. The beans were sweet and tangy and and the potato salad had black olives added which were a really nice flavor boost. The only things I'll ask for next time (because there will be a next time) is extra BBQ sauce and if they have them, a side of pickles to toss on the sandwich. The addition of cole slaw on top of the pork was great but I just love me some pickles. Owner (I assume is Bruce) was really friendly and the spot looked clean and judging by how delicious the pork was, am exited to try everything else available on the menu soon. Highly recommend going here at least once but I'm sure once you do, you'll end up going back many times. Bruce's will be a spot to stop at on our drive home frequently and I'm very happy to have him in the neighborhood. read more

Holy Crap! This place BLEW me away. Tried the TriTip Sandwich along with the Pulled Pork Sandwich and it's a 10/10. The sauce. The meat. The portion. WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!! This was so good we had Bruce's BBQ at Montrose for the Beer festival and then one day I'm driving by Sunland and I see his sign. So happy that there is now an establishment that I can get my BBQ fix anytime we need. Pulled pork is killer, I'm a big baked beans person and wow it was so good with all the little bacon pieces mixed in. Hot wings were nice and crispy with just the right amount of spice. Thank goodness we have a great BBQ joint in town!! My parents went to pick it up and eat at our house so I didn't get to see the actual spot. My parents said it is very small and a little challenging to find as it is inside the liquor store. We had the trip tip sandwich, pulled pork, chicken wings, beans, and potato salad.
