However, when I came in, they used the approximately $200 I had already paid into the plan to cover the cleaning. That is not a free cleaning. I had understood that the money I paid into the plan would go toward my one-year cleaning and care. Instead, I was told that at the one-year mark I would need all new X-rays and that the appointment would cost more than $300. The entire appointment felt like a money grab and was a completely different experience from my first visit. I went from feeling very positive about this office to feeling misled and extremely disappointed. I will be looking for a new dentist.

I did not want to go to a 24 hour clinic or anywhere shady. I found Lake Nona Dental had great reviews on both Google and yelp. Courtney was able to schedule me for an appointment on Saturday at noon. She let me know that if anything opened up, she would give me a call. A few hours later, she called me to let me know I could come in that afternoon. All the paperwork was handled ahead of time and done digitally, which I thoroughly enjoy. I got to the office 15 minutes early, and they were able to see me early. The entire visit, including x-rays and visiting with dentist was less than 20 minutes. Dr. Van de Water Took her time to explain my options. She was honest, friendly and concise. I never once felt like I was being sold anything. Everyone I dealt with was friendly. Courtney was amazing on the phone. If I ever have dental needs while I am in the Orlando area, I know where I will be going!

Not only was I never notified by the office that I would now be out of network - but they ignored my request for information for 6 weeks. When I called back two days before my cleaning - turns out my "free" cleaning will now be around $300. So no - I will find an in network dentist - but thanks for delaying my cleaning probably ~3 months it will take to get in someplace new.

This practice seems designed to milk every last dime out of its "patients" (or, more accurately,…read morethe victims of its fear-driven sales tactics). I went in a few weeks ago as a new patient after moving to the area. I scheduled what I thought was a routine cleaning. Instead, I spent OVER TWO HOURS being subjected to what felt like one long sales pitch, only to eventually be asked whether I wanted to have my teeth cleaned that day. Yes- the cleaning I had scheduled the appointment for in the first place. I was told that I had FOUR cavities, despite never having more than one cavity identified at any dental appointment in my life. I was repeatedly pushed toward add-on services, including an oral cancer screening, yet during this supposed screening, the dentist did not even examine under my tongue or palpate the surrounding lymph nodes. I also was not clearly informed that the X-rays they took would not be covered by my insurance until after they had already been performed. Somehow, my supposedly routine, insurance-covered cleaning appointment still left me with a bill of more than $200. But the treatment plan was what really set off alarm bells. The dentist specifically described my alleged cavities as very small, surface-level cavities that she prefers to fill before they become larger. Yet my itemized treatment estimate included pulp caps for all of them, which are medically indicated for protecting the pulp in substantially deeper decay and, conveniently, not covered by my insurance. Even more concerning, one of my supposed cavities was identified between my teeth using AI. When I asked to see it, the dentist was unable to show me the cavity on the X-ray or provide a photograph demonstrating it. At that point, I sought a second opinion. The second dentist told me I have ONE cavity that needs to be filled. NOT FOUR. One. I completely understand that dentists can have different treatment philosophies and that there can be legitimate disagreement about when early decay should be treated versus monitored. What I experienced here went far beyond a difference in philosophy. Between the aggressive treatment recommendations, questionable add-ons, lack of transparency about costs, and the enormous discrepancy between their treatment plan and an independent second opinion, I left feeling that generating revenue was a much higher priority than earning my trust as a patient. Dentistry depends on patients being able to trust that when a provider tells them they need irreversible treatment, they actually need it. Experiences like this are exactly why people become suspicious of the dental industry in the first place. If you are told you suddenly need extensive dental work here, get a second opinion before allowing anyone to touch your teeth. I am extremely glad I did.

After the prep, I had severe pain that lasted over a week, waking me up at night and radiating into my jaw and temple. After multiple visits and minimal relief from bite adjustments, I was told I suddenly needed TWO root canals. After the procedures, I developed intense, sharp pain to any cold liquid--every sip caused searing pain for several seconds. When I went back, the response was another quick bite adjustment and a prescription. No real investigation, no clear answers, no additions X-rays or reviewing of possible causes aside from "everything gets irritated after procedures, take some meds." The care felt rushed and impersonal the entire time. I expressed dental anxiety upfront and never felt heard or taken seriously. More just another number in the day of patients. I will never go back to this practice. I would not recommend this office if you're looking for thorough care or a dentist who actually takes time to understand what's going on. Now I have to go to an Endodontist (which I should have gone to in the first place for a second opinion) to most likely get a retreatment root canal. This guy is NOT THOROUGH, do not go here.

I did a root canal & 2 crowns along with Invisalign & WOW no discomfort & teeth straight as an arrow. I have 3 missing teeth aswell & will be doing my implants with Dr Parr. My wife has also got a crown & 2 implants already done with Dr Parr and she has NO complications & NO pain. Her 2 implants look perfect & match her smile perfectly. We've been seeing the drs here for over two years and couldn't be any happier. When it comes to pediatrics dentists, it's never an easy chore. I have 3 Kids all 17 months apart and each could t be any more different than the other. The great thing is that they know inherently how to work with each of them; particularly with my son that has sensory issues and auditory processing disorder. I can't begin to tell you how challenging it's been to find a doctor for him in Orlando. The practice is very nice, extremely clean and has a very amazing staff. The office works hard so that we know of any costs not covered by insurance and the prices are very fair. Most importantly...let's talk about scheduling and waits. Surprise! They schedule appropriately and we have NEVER waited. Plus they even have enough chairs that all 3 of my kids can get cleaned and examined all at once!!! I love this place :-)
