This is a smallish nursery that seems to have what the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes do not. They have unique flowers, plants, and trees. The people who work there actually know what they are talking about. I found organic fertilizer which I had been searching for a long time. The worst thing about this place is extremely limited parking--no lot--so you have to park across the street, at least that is what I did because the two spots in front of the store were taken. Not a big deal unless you have heavy stuff to carry to your car. read more

I can't believe they call themselves a garden center. Their rose on their main entrance has rose rosette disease, and when we pointed it out politely to the employees (as we are professional landscapers), they laughed and said "yeah we use that to show people what RRD looks like." I made sure they were aware that it is a contagious disease and that by having the rose there, they were spreading it in the community. They shrugged it off like it was no big deal. What else are they selling that is diseased/exposed to diseases?? Not taking my chances here, as the staff seems ignorant of issues pertaining to health in their customers gardens. read more

Always good healthy plants to choose from & they have great sales events by email and by facebook! Today I took advantage of their sale items! Five 1 gallon plants for my butterfly garden. All $5 a piece and two Daturas for $1. A very pleasurable experience walking through the gift shop full of small planters, garden tool, décor items for your home or for gifts. Eyes delights in the beauty you find in glass, miniature garden area and in the seasonal fun! Go if you not been here before, go if you not been lately and go if you frequent Brumley's. I am always wanting the local owned business to thrive. In the past, Brumley has been my go to nursery even though their prices are higher than some. However I must say the last 2 times I've been there I have felt like they just don't have time to even answer my questions. This last time they didn't even offer to help carry my heavy load to the car. I guess I will take my business somewhere that is more user friendly. read more

I used their landscaping service to redo my front and back landscaping. Their team did a great job planning and installing. I contacted them late fall and they suggested install in December. I asked if we should not wait until the threat of frost passes. They assured me all would be fine. Well you guessed it, Snowpocalypse happened a couple of weeks later. I called them before freezing weather hit, and they only suggested covering a couple of plants. Well, I lost the majority of the plantings. I contacted them in hopes that they would make this right as they advised planting when we did, they cited that the freeze was an "act of God," and they were not liable. I cannot tell you how dissapointed I am that they did not stand behind their work or expertise. That is why I hired them and paid a very high premium. read more

I loved this place. Despite it's size they had a great selection of flowers at good prices. They even had the snapdragons I was looking for. The inside portion of the store has cute nick nacks and other odds and ends that you wouldn't expect a nursery to carry. It used to be called Repotted but has changed ownership and I think they carried on the "boutique nursery" aspect that it had before. They also have specials and discounts like free mimosas on Saturday mornings and 25% off Senior Thursdays. It's odd but awesome :). I'm going to try to get there on a Sunday before the mimosas end (I think that stops some time in May). I wish they would put this information up on their website. I had come here to get flowers for my boyfriends garden and now I can't wait till I have my planter built so I can come back and buy things for myself. Cute, cute, cute! read more

I too am surprised by the negative reviews. My mom and I have been here more than a few times, among them the first for the grand opening, and during Christmastime. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the plants. My mom is the one with the green thumb--she is an expert on nurseries, well beyond the standard places everyone knows. We like this place a lot. added 6/23/18: Reading through my previous reviews, I realized I needed to change this one. For the past two years, my mom and I have visited Brumley Gardens's holiday kickoff for the Christmas season. It's a big deal. Lots of people come. Santa Claus is there. They have live entertainment and serve FREE food, a ham buffet with all the sides, and wine and champagne. A draw for us is that they give away holiday-themed gift bags filled with good stuff, but you have to get there early or they're gone. Two years ago we were out of luck, so last year we were sure to get there as soon as the festivities started. The place was already busy--we had to park on the grass lot across the street. So I was hovering around the area with the gift bags. When they started handing them out, I asked for two, because my mom, who was with me, was off buying stuff. She's on oxygen, so we have to tote back-up canisters. She wears one in a sling. An older woman, whom we'd seen every time we shopped there (she's a manager, if not the owner), just laughed at me in front of the 3-4 people who were standing there, saying, "We can't let you have two. She'll have to walk over here and get her own." I told her that my mom was on oxygen and it's difficult for her to do a lot of walking. I pointed at her, took my bag and went to tell my mom that she would have to come get a bag. She did so. I thought the woman had been extremely rude and obnoxious for the way she delivered her response, as if she were doing a set at a comedy club. It was directed toward the crowd, not even specifically to me. We then proceeded to spend almost $100 between us. My mom picked up a great metal planter, the last one. I held on to it. Two people asked me where I'd gotten it. Imagine the woman's surprise when we approached the counter, which we filled with our purchases. She immediately saw my mom's oxygen, then apologized for her earlier comment, as she and the cashier rang up our ~ $100 order. Now I can see why there are reports of poor customer service. Good customer service starts at the top. Management at this store could stand to improve their service and their customer relations. read more

I found this little gem last year right before my move. I was so lucky they were having a sale and I pretty much bought them out of houseplants! Beautiful and healthy plants is all you will find here, stir in wonderful customer support. (Got home and decided I wanted the last 3 called and they were mine) I hope to continue doing business with this nursery. DO NOT USE - very poor quality work. Not even a year into the job we spent A LOT of money on and things are already falling apart, dying etc. We water our gardens regularly and the sales rep tries to put it back on us for a "waster issue". The price of labor is high and after choosing them over lower bids because the sales rep seemed trustworthy, I regret. Seek other options. Multiple issue through out job and post job. read more

I was in search of great prices cacti in the Dfw area for my wedding. I've been looking for small sizes and large sizes as well as agave and succulents. Unlike the previous reviewers, I haven't had any problems with the staff at Brumley Gardens. This has been my go-to place for seasonal flowers. They've always been helpful when I've had questions, and usually help me load plants into my car when they see I have my kids with me. I purchased a beautiful and expensive ivy hanging basket from Brumley's back in April. We have taken fantastic care of it and it was growing beautifully. This past month, we noticed a Begonia flower sprouting in the middle of the basket. According to our landscapers, this is not unusual as sometimes the seeds are dropped at the farms. This past month however, we noticed the ivy dying while the Begonia flower was doing fantastic. I took it up to Brumley's thinking they would exchange it. I explained to the manager what had happened and to my surprise, she smiled and told me that it was dried out and she couldn't do anything in terms of exchanging it. She told me to take the flower out and keep it. When I told her that I wasn't happy with that resolution she shook her head at me like I was lying to her. I left and went to Ruibals where I explained to the manager what happened so that I could just purchase another basket from there. The manager explained to me that anyone with common sense could see that the ivy had been watered. If it had not been watered, the Begonia wouldn't be flourishing and doing so well. Save yourself time and money and go to Ruibals or you might end up buying a $30 Begonia. I was also told that Brumley's only has a 2 week guarantee on their plants. Even Home Depot has a better guarantee than that. And to even show their poor customer service further, Ruibals discounted my new ivy just for my hassle at Brumley's. Word of advice. Customer service is everything. Small businesses fail from poor customer service. Hire a manager that is competent in that area and that know how to properly communicate with your customers. I will never go back and I will deter everyone I know from doing so. read more

I love Brumley Gardens! This is where I go first for my air plants and cactus. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. During Christmas time they have several beautiful trees setup indoors where you can purchase any item from the tree. Tim has been a tremendous help to me throughout the years. His suggestions have made my garden a small oasis. I have always gone there for advice and analysis of problems and how to fix them. I've heard great things about this place but have not had a good experience trying to work with them. I've called and left two messages asking for an appointment to have them design our landscape at my home and they've failed to call me back. Two weeks seems like plenty of time for a response so if they're this bad in the beginning stages, I'd rather not spend thousands of dollars just to have a company I can't reach. read more

Do not get suckered into working with these people if installing a garden for your home. Their main objective is to charge you the most astronomical price on things and get you into a routine maintenance program where they can continually charge you $800 to plant a few seasonal flowers for you. They only warranty their work for 6 months and any plant that dies is not covered under their warranty after the 6 months. Even more annoying is that although they are calling every 6 months to do routine maintenance work on your garden, they do not check to see if other plants have died. If you bring it up, they look for every reason not to warranty it. I spent close to $8000 on front and back gardens. When I received the quote, I thought it was crazy but they told me that I would be receiving mature plants and that it would only need minimal upkeep. Well that was so far from the truth. They gave me very tiny plants, babies, half of them survived. The other half died within the first year and of course, these crooks didn't warranty anything. NEVER AGAIN..... read more

Nathan not only came by my home to look at it, but diagnosed the problem, went back to the store to pick up the remedial application, then came to apply it himself. Very shocked by the negative review! I have always received excellent customer service and the staff really knows what they are talking about. I have always received high quality plants even if I have to pay a little more than at other nurseries. Even had a couple unsucessfull plants and I let them know...they imediately gave me two new ones with no questions asked. They are always there for me when I have questions and provide the best products I cannot find anywhere else. This summer I bought some potato vines and they are producing sweet potatoes. Never happend before when I bought them elsewhere. They are huge on ensuring the plants you buy will be sucessful because they fertalize and water. There is a man there that is really in tune with plants. He really cares about them as I watched him touch every plant he watered. If you are looking for a nursery that carries exotic and different breeds of plants this is the place to go. If you are looking for a landscape consultant...Ask for Chris. He will visit his customers and check the plants to make sure they are doning well. He is the best! I also recommend Brumly's to all of my clients as I am in the construction business and see a lot of home owners. read more
