In the center of this triangular green space is an interesting artwork that was challenging to identify. The steel sculpture stands on three legs which have "1949", "1950" and "1951" on them. It turns out that this sculpture is dedicated to Grand Prix motorcycle racer Bruno Ruffo (1920-2007).
Ruffo was born here in Verona and won three Grand Prix World Championships in those years. In 1949 he won the inaugural 250cc World Championship riding for the Italian Moto Guzzi factory. During the 1950 season, Ruffo was annoyed that Moto Guzzi instructed him to let his teammate win the Championship that year while he finished third. That same year, Ruffo rode a Mondial to claim the 125cc World Championship. In 1951 he once again captured the 250cc World Champion with four victories.
The monument, made in bronze by Marco Da Ronco, was inaugurated on 4th December 2009. It represents a stylised human figure on a motorbike.
