Nine MARC trains stop here on weekdays, ten on Friday evenings going northbound. There is a brick shelter, built in the 1800s on the northbound side which has a coffee shop and seating inside. Perfect for those cold mornings. There's also an Amtrak ticket kiosk if you need to purchase a one way or round trip ticket. Be careful because you have to cross the tracks to catch Southbound trains to DC. There is the Olde Towne parking garage across Summit Avenue which is easily accessible by a pedestrian bridge. The garage fills up pretty rapidly, if you want covered parking, it's best to arrive before 7:30 am, be careful not to park in spaces reserved for the apartment residents or city employees, you may get towed.

It's small. Yet, very informative. FYI bathrooms are port o'poty, Porta-John. Plenty of free parking. Support this small business.

We both love salmon, but what was served tasted old, fishy, and completely unfresh, we couldn't eat more than a single small bite. The sweet potatoes were bland, the lima beans were oddly sweet, and the dinner rolls were literally handed to us in plastic Ziploc bags. For $189, there should at least be basic meal choices (like baked chicken, rice/mashed potatoes, and green beans) instead of forcing a poorly prepared, single option on everyone. My window seat was so severely scratched up that I couldn't even see out of it and had to move. Once I moved, the view consisted almost entirely of overgrown brush, weeds, and the backs of new house developments. Despite being tied to a historical station and museum, there was no narration, no historical facts, no music, and no entertainment whatsoever. You are essentially sitting in total silence on a slow train eating terrible food. This trip was nowhere near worth $189. Potential visitors should save their money, and management seriously needs to rethink their catering, pricing, and overall guest experience.

I always research trips and I thought I was informed about my travels. The wmata web site was wrong. On Saturday, Twinbrook was the stop I used when the red line was impacted by single tracking and repairs. On Sunday, I started my trip at Twinbrook since that stop was the solution the day before. The glitches switched locations. I learned that Twinbrook wasn't in service (after swiping my card). A nice customer told me about the changes. I left the platform and asked the station employee for help. He was probably having to repeat himself dozens of times during his shift. But I am one customer, hearing the information for the first time. He was frowning, unpleasant and gave confusing instructions. He was also pointing to the wrong exit. When I asked him to clarify where I needed to go, he was rushing me out of the area, telling me to get on a shuttle that would take me downtown. Where? I am fluent in sarcasm but I would not be disrespectful to a customer. Metro employees should be awesome whether I am paying full fare or $2.00. A nice bus driver told me to walk to the other side of the block. She was kind. I walked back into the station. Another Twinbrook metro employee walked me to the area when I explained that his colleague was needing a time out. I had already traveled two hours by car and was wheeling luggage around. Even when I am tired, I am nice. I took the shuttle to Medical Center from Twinbrook. Two opposite experiences in the same day. The employee at Twinbrook needs retraining. The employee at Medical Center needs a raise and a promotion. Kindness matters.
