Apparently this shop has been here for well over a year and I only recently discovered it. I hate that I hadn't found it sooner though. Absolutely awesome outdoors specialty store akin to a mini-REI right here in Mooresville. The most intriguing thing about this shop is that it's both a coffee/tea joint AND an outdoor goods store. I'm in love! I only managed to get in here just before closing one evening so the bar was shut down but I'm definitely planning on coming back in hopes of finding a more chummy and conversative atmosphere. In the meantime, when I can stop by after work I will probably be doing a fair amount of shopping for hiking, camping and general travel gear. I wouldn't call it misleading, but the category for this place is "Coffee & Tea" however I came in for the gear and will be coming back (and maybe even staying) for the drinks! read more

Located ona corner of a very popular plaza. Easily seen from the road and parking is plentiful. The store carries all the popular outdoor brands. Sizes are very limited and the one and only staff there was not very knowledgable about the brands they sell. Theres not many variety of sizes in their inventory as well. Its tough to see how this business stay open with the issues I brought up and being within 4 miles of big box stores that carry the same brand. Im a proponent of supporting locally owned business, but you have to at least have a variety of sizes and knowledge of the product. read more

My husband and I love shopping at Brushy Mountain Outdoors because their quality cannot be beat, and Lee and Ale offer exceptional customer service. For example, my husband recently purchased new shoes there and he gets compliments wherever we go (even as far as NYC--he received compliments!). Plus, if you love local coffee shops, Lee and Ale own the Bean Stash, which is an awesome cafe located at the front of the store. Their coffee is so smooth and delicious. Such a treat! Finally, an added bonus to your visit is meeting their adorable store "mascot," Aspen, their beautiful Samoyed who warmly welcomes and greets visitors to the store and cafe! :) This is a wonderful place to visit and shop! Found this shop by accident and had a great time shopping. Found some super items for my "fall pack". The operator was very friendly and courteous. I found 4items on sale and now can't wait for cool weather. I'll be back for sure. Would have given more stars if I could. read more

Visited this local merchant with the notion of supporting local retailers vs online conglomerates. Found a Patagonia Sweater Jacket that I wanted to purchase. Showed the owners that www.backcountry.com was offering the same exact item (color size) for $40 less plus free shipping and no sales tax. Asked them if they would provide some type of discount or price match to earn the sale. They said they would not budge and the price was the price. Being that I am looking to support locally any type of discount would have appeased me to support this establishment. The fact they would not offer something to earn my business has lost me as customer (and I purchase a lot of merchandise this establishment carries annually). Not to mention my local sphere of influence referral. Bad business choice for an establishment that relies on a local reputation. read more
