We stopped at Panera and some barber decided to come outside and start yelling at us that we couldn't park there if we were going to Renaissance Festival. I told him that we were not, we were only going to Panera three times. When I came out, he again accosted me about going to a Renaissance Festival, it scared my niece is so bad I called the cops Then what I presume is the manager decided to lie to the cop and speak to him, as if he was the one who spoke to me initially, when I corrected this with the police officer, he was reprimanded, and the police officer had to go and grabbed the original man. Needless to say, the only two individuals I've ever interacted in this place were condescending, and extremely rude. I don't know anybody that lives in Deerfield, but I will most definitely be telling everybody about this experience.

Spoiler alert -- this is going to be a GLOWING recommendation for Chris and New Era. This was my…read morefirst time going to New Era -- the shop I had been using for the past 3 years suddenly closed so I needed a new shop. I went on-line and searched for shops near me -- saw that New Era was 7 minutes from my house. I made an appointment for a haircut and shave with Chris -- and I would be there in 30 minutes. I was able to pay for the service on-line. Upon arrival at the shop the staff member closest to the door who was with a customer said to me "Welcome to New Era -- who will be providing services for you today?" I told him Chris -- and Chris came over and introduced himself. I showed Chris a picture of the cut I wanted -- he said "no problem." I have to say that he nailed it! Usually when you go to a new barber you walk out wondering what your wife or girlfriend will say. Often times they say "Don't worry, it is only hair, it will grow back." Well, when I got home my wife of nearly 44 years said "Do you look handsome!!" That is as good as it gets. Thank you Chris for the great cut and shave!!! My hairdresser did not want to do it. So, I fired her and found Patrick at this barber shop. FUN FUN FUN, they took me same day. Gave me an amazing pixie cut which I adore. It's me. Did the color too ( light brown) . Gave us wine, and great conversation. No stuck up Boca attitude just a cool place if you want short hair. We communicated our instructions clearly, emphasizing the need for a straightforward, child-friendly haircut. We also showed him a picture . Unfortunately, this visit turned into a distressing experience. While cutting my son's hair, the barber seemed more interested in watching TV than paying attention to his work. It was disheartening to see my little boy sitting there, visibly upset and holding back tears after seen the himself in the mirror. To make matters worse, the haircut turned out terribly--far from the buzz cut we requested. Instead of leaving with a fresh, neat look, my son left feeling embarrassed and unhappy. It's hard to believe that someone could disregard a child's feelings so blatantly. Adding insult to injury, the barber had the audacity to expect a tip after ruining my son's hair. I believe tips should be earned through good service, and in this case, it was completely unwarranted. We found this shop on google and it had 5 stars from 900+ people so we felt safe. However I believe that the barber we used and maybe few others are riding on the coattails of better-rated barbers that work at this establishment without really understanding the craft. Because the quality of the haircut as terrible. An apprentice would have done a better job.
