Dr. Bryant and the staff at Bryant Chiropractic are the best that there is. I am very picky about who I choose to provide any type of medical care to me. I am the person who will not go to the ER because I don't know the doctor who may be treating me.
I have been seeing Dr. Bryant off and on for about 7 years now. I originally started seeing him due to back and neck problems that stemmed from injuries received in my earlier years, some of which included multiple car accidents, dislocated hip and falling over 10 feet and landing on concrete. All of these injuries had gone basically untreated over a period of 15-20 years. I refused to see a chiropractor because I had seen many people who were severely injured by them in the past. My mantra in life became "if you can feel pain then you know you are alive".
Thank Goodness all that changed when the Bryant Chiropractic Staff showed up at a Health Fair at my place of employment. I went and talked with them playing the Devil's Advocate. I challenged every response that they gave me (with other people stopping to listen) and still they remained friendly and confident in their employer. Debbie asked me to come in for a free evaluation and I finally agreed to do so.
My first appointment, I had several x-rays taken and Dr. Bryant came and answered the 10,000 questions that I had about how he treats patients. We scheduled a follow up appointment to see the results of my x-rays. Not surprisingly when I returned, I was told that I needed treatment. But Dr. Bryant went in depth and explained why the injuries were occurring. He was even able to tell me where I was feeling pain. He offered to do the first treatment that day. Ever skeptical, I went ahead with the treatment.
To my surprise, when I was finished, I felt a little better, this has to be psychological though is what I was thinking. Dr. Bryant recommended daily appointments for the first week. I went ahead and scheduled them and just kept saying to myself I can stop when I prove him wrong. On my next appointment, all of the staff know my name, and not just mine, I hear them greeting every patient by name without even looking at the sign in sheet. I'm thinking wow, they really make an effort. Not only that, for the first time in my life, I hear people talking to each other about the treatments that they are receiving and about their improvements.
So now I'm thinking that this is being staged for me. (I know I give myself a lot of credit). My daily appointments were during my lunch hour and I always made it back to work on time so I was in and out. On the last day of that first week, I tell Dr. Bryant that walking feels funny to me. He takes a look at the shoes that I'm wearing and points out how they have been worn down on one side of each foot and explains that I am walking better, straighter. He has put on a pair of bowling shoes that he has available in his office and walk down the hall. Walking was definitely more comfortable. He recommends buying a new pair of shoes that are not worn down unevenly.
The next week I am seeing him every other day. By the end of the first month I am down to one visit per week. And my goodness I am feeling better, I am practically pain free. I don't know what to do with myself, I can't remember a point before junior high school when I didn't feel pain in my back or my neck. To top it off, Dr. Bryant is telling me I don't need to come back except for monthly maintenance but he stresses that if I feel I need him before that to call. OK so I'm thinking is this going to last? Is Chiropractic care like a drug if you don't have it will the pain return?
So I leave and it's not long before my first monthly appointment comes up. I go and Dr. Bryant notices that I'm not walking as straight as I was. He asks me if I'm doing the exercises he gave me and I answer honestly that I wasn't. He explains that although my spine has been straightened, I still need to work at keeping it that way because it's not use to being straight. We agree that I will come in bi-weekly. I continue this for a little over a year I think. Mainly because I absolutely love the stem therapy where it feels like I'm getting an electric massage. And my back and neck continue to improve. I'm learning how to relax muscles that were so tense that when I thought they were relaxed, you couldn't move them. I get switched back to monthly visits which I continue until late 2009 when I become pregnant. Although I can still see Dr. Bryant, I am no longer receiving the stem therapy and he honestly tells me that I don't need to keep coming back unless I'm having a problem. So I stop going.
Dr. Bryant has helped me and continues to help me on an as needed basis. It rust his methodology and I value his advice. He recently started doing laser therapy and I highly recommend it to anyone that Dr. Bryant feels can receive relief. Dr. Bryant is my chiropractor and there's no changing that. I would recommend him to anyone seeking care. read more
