We had so much fun at this little rodeo! I actually have no idea if it's little. We've never been to one. We had a blast! Highly recommend after a day of hiking. We went to Canyon Country Rodeo on a Saturday afternoon and when we got there, it was SUPER packed. The show started of showing the small kids riding the ponies and there were a lot of breaks in between. They showed sheep and a couple of small bulls but they weren't doing much. Then they had riders with there horses and see if they can catch the cattle. Most of them missed. And then they had like a audience participation where they ppl do challenges and win prizes. Current entry fee is $14 ($12 with AAA discount). It is not a pro level rodeo. If you understand that it is a lot of fun and a good way to spend a couple evening hours. I didn't notice any long delays between events. All were entertaining. I especially likes the sheep riding. Maybe they've made improvements since all the negative reviews. I didn't see anyone leave early or looked like they wanted out. Just remember, it's not pro level or does it bill itself as such. read more

This was such a fun night!! We were staying across the street at the best western Ruby's inn and were there for Tuesday to Wednesday. After hiking Bryce Canyon, we were planning on driving up to Moab. Once we saw the rodeo, we knew we had to work this into our plans. It opened for the week on Wednesday, so we decided to stay for the rodeo and got to Moab by midnight once the rodeo finished. The highways from Bryce to Moab were not cliff drives, so this was totally doable at night! The local beer was only 4 dollars and the rodeo was AWESOME! There were so many cowboys and cowgirls. We weren't expecting so many and they were so impressive. The children were also so impressive! It was cool to see the variety of skills with sheep, calf, horse, bull riding (respectively by age of rider) and the timed races around the barrels. We heard about the little kids on sheep- but man that was something to see lol. read more

Complete waste of time and money. Ticket prices are up to $13. Events were poorly organized and took waaaayyy too long between events. Some of the cowboys & girls had some true skill, but giving every kid on the family a ride of every animal is just taking advantage of a paying audience. Ruby's should be ashamed of themselves. Many people around us were taking pictures of the sunset, everyone too polite to leave mid-show. Save your money. read more

So much fun. Last night of the rodeo season, and lots of activity. We saw the broncos, little kids riding sheep, barrel racing and bulls, but didn't stay for the roping. Kids and adults enjoyed it! read more

Oh my lord, this was fun! Yes, they put it on for tourists. But, guess what? I WAS a tourist. A genuine, city-slicker tourist, who had never been to a rodeo. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and thought it was $10 well spent. The event started at 7 pm and is right across from Ruby's Inn. (They're the ones who put on the rodeo.) We drove in at 7:15 pm, and had no trouble getting tickets or finding parking. There's a concession stand that sells snacks and beer, although we didn't buy anything. The rodeo began with little kids riding sheep (!!) It then progressed to bigger kids on cows, and finally to the real "cowboys" on bulls. They also had a barrel race, where, for my fellow city-slickers, kids on horses raced around barrels placed around the rodeo ring. For the grand finale, two-cowboy teams took turns roping a cow. No easy task. The ambience felt very country Western to me. They had country music playing, all of the competitors were wearing Western gear and cowboy hats, and the announcer talked straight-up country. Do I think I experienced an authentic Western rodeo? Not by any means. But, I had a fun hour watching something that I'd never seen before. I'd recommend it for someone who also has no idea what a real rodeo is like. read more

Not a real rodeo, but it is something to do at least and for $11 you might as well. It could have been better organized to have less downtime. Also, it was not advertised as a youth event, but none of the participants seemed to be more than 14 years old and most were much younger than that. There was even a twenty minute interlude where toddlers were put on sheep - that was amusing at first but got boring fast. Overall, it seemed like the event was designed more for the benefit of the local kids who participated in it than for the audience, but it was somewhat interesting at least and reasonably priced. read more

If you are on vacation with kids - this is a great stop! But don't just have your kids watch the rodeo - they can be part of the rodeo!!! If they participate (little kids ride a sheep, big kids ride a calf - they get a protective vest & helmet) not only do you not have to pay for them to get in - they will "win" a few dollars!!
