Amazing store! Very welcoming and friendly staff! Went here for my first time yesterday and was immediately wowed by the lay out of the store (sadly too wowed to want to take a break and get any pictures) I talked to a very nice woman upstairs and also found out it's helped by a lot of volunteers!! Lots of items that are well organized and labeled. Nothing spectacular, though. One particular worker is remarkably rude. As I was paying for a Christmas ornament and getting .12 to pay the tax on a $2 item, she exclaimed to no one in particular, "There's one in every crowd." Hmm. Then she proceeded to shove back at me one of the coins--a penny--and proclaimed, "I don't know what this coin is." I then proceeded to lay a different penny on the counter, which she did manage to accept. Such a fuss over A PENNY! This customer ain't returning. I prefer patronizing places that don't treat me like dirt. read more

Located in a restored barn in suburban Bryn Athyn, the Bryn Athyn Thrift Shop has incredible bargains on all sorts of things: clothing, paintings, dishes, furniture, etc. Although the selection is more limited than at some bigger thrift shops, the prices can't be beat, and they're constantly getting new things. I got the couch that now sits in my living room for $10 here. Add to that the friendly employees and the charming location, and you've got one of the best shopping experiences around. read more

Generally, a decent thrift store with a variety of merchandise. Some good bargains. Books tend to be pricey and marked with tape, ruining the book covers. Employees are nice, but the manager Leslie has a loud voice, and she shouts across rooms instead of talking to people in an average volume. It's very annoying being near her when she "talks" or screams. One of the cashiers is overly smug, Ele.... She gets irritated at the smallest, trivial things. A real control addict when checking out. Otherwise, good people. They also throw out a lot! of good, donated merchandise for various reasons. It's worth the visit to find something reusable and at a good price. They have sales on occasion. The parking lot is annoying, but they are moving to a new location soon. Big negative now, the restroom is for employees only since Covid. Wow, is that unfair. read more

This place is a gem. Even the building itself is just a treasure to look around! They have a new selection every time I go (usually once a month). The prices are AMAZING even compared to salvation army. And the staff is super friendly. My only negative is that they don't take cards, only cash or personal check. So come prepared! I got a charm bracelet for $4 (which I collect), 3 vintage hats at $2 each, and a couple of vintage patches from the 70s. Love this place. Even if you aren't into thrift shopping, coming here is a great experience with lots to look at. read more

This is a really top-notch thrift store, among the best I've visited anywhere in the U.S. It's two stories tall. This store is better in some categories than others. The selection of dishes, silverware, other kitchenware, and other durable goods is outstanding. The clothing selection is decent, although I think it lags behind the offerings in the rest of the store. There's some decent furniture too. Turnover is relatively high, although, since Bryn Athyn is a bit of a closed community, there are certain items that seem to cycle in and out, and if you keep coming back, you may be surprised to see an item reappear that you saw here, and if you get to know people around town you may see items appear in the store that were in people's homes, or vice versa. I find this highly amusing. Also interesting in that this is one of the few commercial (if it could be called commercial) establishments in the city limits of Bryn Athyn. I think that this store is an asset not only to the community of Bryn Athyn but the surrounding suburbs as well. read more

This is a great little thrift shop. I have donated many items, and purchased many as well. Items are priced really well. If you like to read books, this is the place to go. Also a great place to find various craft items and lots of kitchen items. Like any thrift shop, it is hit or miss, you have to be willing to look through many items to find what you want. This thrift store is filled with finds! They have an affordable selection of quality books, glassware in great condition as well as interesting antiques throughout the shop. These are my favorite areas to check out but they have many other sections including clothing for men, women and children, furniture, toys, sporting goods, children's, decor, kitchenware etc. I've even seen several bikes here. You never know what you will find here! If you look or are there at the right time you can find some gems! Antique decor items adorn the walls of this large red barn. There is plenty of parking outside of BATS in their own gravel lot that is tucked away off of the street. An insider tip would be that you need to come on Tuesday mornings at 10 as that's when the selection is the best! read more

I don't live close by but BATS is near my dentist. So I always look forward to my dentist appointments. It's not a place where you drive by and find since It's tucked away in a barn near an elementary school. But as an avid thrift store shopper, it's totally worth the $$ and time to look this place up and pay a visit. The only downside is that they do not accept credit cards. Cash or check ONLY. My favorites are the household items, clothes are a bit weak. But awesome furniture selection, however small. Book selection is one of the best! so Have fun and just DIG IN! read more

This is a nice thrift shop in a nice area. They have some really nice stuff here. I found it after I was referred by a coworker to go here. It was very easy to find with plenty of parking. My complaints are that it is a little messy and you do have to dig to find stuff. They only accept cash so be prepared. Also they are not stroller friendly. There is a second floor and the only access is by stairs. I would possibly visit again in the future. read more

This place has a little of everything. It is so well organized and the staff is very helpful. There are newer items, but also vintage.

I found some good steals and they are priced cheap/reasonably. I was only disappointed with the size. Yes it is two stories but I really had the impression it was going to be a lot bigger. I guess I am always on the hunt for some good vintage pieces at a steal and thought this may be a place to swipe some. Nevertheless I did like it and the staff were nice. read more

I think it's a good place for a thrifter. The staff didn't seem to friendly and helpful to me. They weren't really available for help either. You had to go and seek one out behind a junk pile somewhere. My wife loved it, though! read more

This is the most unique thrift store I've ever been in. It is located in an old fashioned building. The interior is decorated with collectibles. Many items for sale and very well organized. A fun stop. I don't live close to this store but I'd stop here every week to see what is new. read more
