I did look around, just out of curiosity, but that odor was too overwhelming to even consider trying on anything. I can't figure how anyone can stand to be inside the place for more than a few minutes. It's atrocious. As for the staff, there were 2 older ladies greeting guests and a young lady at the register. When the older ladies asked if they could help me find something, I mentioned it was my first time stopping in and we'd just had lunch across the street, so I'm just browsing. The dark haired lady asked what we had and if we liked it. I said we'd been going weekly for the last 4-5 weeks and everything has been excellent. The lighter haired lady interjected (I didn't get to tell the other lady what we ate), saying she'd been there when they first opened (a year or so ago?). I asked if she liked it and she got quite agitated and said "NO!" I asked "Why? What did you have?" She went off on a tirade about how she "asked for a steak sandwich and it didn't come with sauce!" I asked "Sauce?" She continued "yes! I've NEVER seen a steak sandwich without SAUCE! I asked 'what am I supposed to put on it, then?!' And they told me ketchup! I wanted SAUCE! They told me they didn't have that!" She kept repeating that she'd never seen a steak sandwich without sauce. I told her "Well, they're not a pizza shop, so if they don't make things with sauce, they wouldn't have it and, also, that would be called a pizza steak -- a regular steak sandwich does not come with sauce." I made sure to repeat that we'd gone there every week lately and everything we've had has been excellent. She then claimed they charged her $2.50 for water and didn't believe me that I got ice water served in a large cup for free. Hoo boy! This lady is a piece of work. BTW, I don't know what the menu looked like when the place first opened but, in case she's reading this, they DO have a pizza steak on the menu now. I should have told her that, by HER logic, people should leave her a bad review bc she doesn't sell, say... Levi's and they wanted Levi's! Such a ridiculous reason to tell people you didn't like a place! Just like saying you didn't like a restaurant bc you wanted something they do not serve! But yeah... I would give her ZERO STARS if that was an option. Because her store reeks terribly and her attitude leaves a lot to be desired! Prices are ridiculous, too. Oy.

I picked up a few items from the men clothing section and made my way to the children section on the second floor. I placed all of my selected items my reusable shopping bag that I entered into the store with. As my son and I made our way down the escalator to the first floor I was approached by a man asking me to step to the side so he could speak with me. I stepped to side of the escalator and the man said "we observed you stuffing things in your bag and if you just give me the things I won't arrest you." I was floored by this accusation. I explained to him I am using a reusable shopping bag and I am still shopping. Once done I will pay for my items. He replied "this is what management is saying and we do not use those bags we have the carts or our shopping bags." I replied I was not aware that I could not use my own bag to hold my items and transferred my items to a Primark bag. After this unpleasant encounter I made my way to the register. As I placed my items on the counter I asked the cashier if I could speak with a manager. The cashier asked for the reason of my request and I informed him I had just been accused of stealing. The cashier called for a manager and apologized to me. The cashier inquired as to who accused me of stealing. As I look up I see the guy who accused me of stealing standing at the end of area leading to registers. He quickly ducked out of sight when he noticed me pointing at him. The manager Bryan arrived and I shared with him what happened. He apologized and claimed it was a misunderstanding. I also shared I was visiting from NC. I expressed how this was embarrassing and I never left the store to be accused of stealing. For the man who approached me to assume I was stealing because I was using my own shopping bag was unacceptable and low. There are two sets of register in store however only set of registers was open and this was on the first floor. There is an entrance/exit on the second floor in the children section where I was shopping before being approached on the escalator. Again I never left the store or passed any point of purchase area before being approached. This was not a misunderstanding it was profiling situation. I was threatened with being arrested and embarrassed

I wanted sconces that would hold taper candles, not the electric sort that leave you having to hide the trailing cord. So I decide to run to Sweet Magnolia to replace a candle that had recently burnt out completely when, lo and behold!, there is the most gorgeous pair of gold-leafed wall sconces hanging right before my eyes! This is why I love Sweet Magnolia - you can find such elegant pieces here when you least expect it. I also appreciate that their prices don't put a huge dent in your wallet. $58 for the pair? I'll take them! The store also carries the greatest soy candles ever by Aquiesse which last a rather long time and come in several delightful fragrances. They also carry an array of other home goods - Forte teas, place settings, bath and body products, stationery, baby gifts, and jewelry. Definitely a great little shop for finding last minute gifts or a treat for yourself. I've seen similar items at other stores like Anthropologie for twice the price, so why not patronize a local entrepreneur instead?

When we arrived at our appointment we were warmly greeted by Maria and Nicole. We discussed styles we had in mind, and styles we were open to trying. The selection was impressive and we were made to feel very comfortable. The quality of all the dresses surpassed what we'd seen elsewhere, and there were many more unique and sophisticated designs available. At no time did we feel pressured to exceed our budget or to engage in the " say yes to the dress " role play (although we did celebrate once the choice had been made). For brides looking for quality material and design, fair pricing, and excellent service and tailoring, I couldn't recommend Nicole's more highly.
