We wanted to stay in Aberystwyth but preferred to be outside the town. We booked a room at Brynarth and were very happy with our stay. Our room had an ensuite bathroom and windows overlooking the garden.
Our hosts were helpful in suggesting local restaurants and making reservations. Some of the restaurants have a small number of tables and are located on rural roads. Don't drive there in the hope that they'll have a table!
The B&B is in a beautiful setting, including a local patch of preserved land that hosts many interesting species of birds, insects, and plants. A number of birders were there with us.
They have a snug bar so you can enjoy a drink (including Penderyn whiskey) in the evening when you return from dinner.
There's lots of guidebooks, maps, etc. to local attractions, as well as novels and other reading material.
Breakfast was very good - particularly the porridge, kippers, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, and laverbread.
Our hosts were helpful in every way. One evening we were rather late, and when we returned in the rain one of them met us with an umbrella.
Highly recommended! read more
