I read the reviews for IntensityX3 and decided to check it out since I always love a good kickboxing class. Since it was my first time there I had to take a 25 minute new members class with Ivy. There was one other newbie boxer in attendance and she went thru some of the punches and kicks she would be calling out in the 50 minute class that followed. While I've boxed before it was super helpful since there were a lot of different punches and kicks in the actual class. The 50 minute class was packed and clearly with many regulars. Ivy taught this as well and the first half of the class was kickboxing. She took us thru many high energy routines - it was fun and we broke a sweat! The second half of the class was all butt/legs. It was a great combo of cardio and strength and I left bummed that i was headed back to Chicago later that day since I wanted to go again. I"ll definitely be back next time I head home to South Florida! The studio itself isn't easy to find! They are located in the back of the Office Depot plaza, although the other side of Office Depot. Turn left before the Public Storage Building and look for the black awning. I had trouble, but called them and they stayed on the phone with me giving me solid directions. The only thing I didn't love was doing this workout barefoot, which they claim is better for your feet. I prefer to workout in shoes, especially when kicking backs and working with heavy weights. Perhaps it's just something I need to get used to, but everything else was solid!

They have a huge cardio selection of equipment I have never even seen before .. (sure beats boring old LA fitness shhh ) they have a room dedicated to just CrossFit which is pretty dope , and they have a small but tidy weight room . In short: HIIT style workout ideal for those who like variety…read more Grit60 (formerly Bodytek) is exactly what the name implies. You need grit to get through the 60 minutes of challenging workouts that are curated and different every day. It is a mix of HIIT and weight training exercises that are dispersed through various stations. For example, today there were 5 stations with 5 different workouts within each station. There is a timer, let's say 30 seconds per workout, and a longer timer in between stations so you have time to clean your own station and make your way to the next. They promote cleanliness by providing cleaning bottles and towels to wipe down the weights you use and mats. The coaches are constantly walking around making sure everyone has correct form and upping your weights if they feel Like you can handle more ( I'm looking at you Coach Vida). Coach Vida is the head coach and for a good reason. His classes are amazing, his energy is infectious, and he is beyond motivating! Oh did I mention they have excellent music? Try them out you are looking for a better challenge and more variety! You won't be disappointed.
