I received a men's wear catalog in the mail with a new store opening discount. Needing some new…read moredress shirts, I was intrigued to check it out. It is a new store in Old Hyde Park Village in the newly constructed building on Snow Ave. Bonobos is an on-line retailer. This location is a small brick & mortar fitting store only. They display men's pant, shirts and suits to try on for size. You then make your purchase and the order is shipped directly to you. My three shirts arrived via UPS about 3 days later. I noticed a small flaw in the collar stitching & returned it to the brick & mortar location. The replacement was promptly sent to me. You can also return items via UPS with no return shipping charge. This looks like the retail model of the future. Go to a fitting store for selection of style, color and size (no merchandise available to take home) then have your order shipped from the online warehouse to your door. Works for me.

Mind you this was around 6:00pm on a Sunday night, and I was warmly greeted and connected with Dominik who is a true professional. I explained that I was effectively lost in the style world and he was more than happy to be my consultant. We spent the better part of an hour trying on a range of items until the fit, style and color combinations were suitable. I'm talking like 10 different dress shirts finely tuning each evolution until everything came together. I think he used the term 'goldilocks' shirt which I totally appreciate (and concur with). Absolutely zero sales pressure and he was making both hand written and electronic notes of the items that worked (or did not work) to ensure I could place the order efficiently online or the next time I swing by the Hyde Park location. As the four-start rating announces, I'm a fan and look forward to returning!

The store is nicely appointed with wood floors, good lighting, and space to look around. Staff were helpful and friendly. They like babies AND puppy dogs. Shop local!!! They have some fun Tampa skyline t-shirts as of the end of 2018..

The place carries a variety of "southern" gear, which equates into what fraternity people who are no longer in a fraternity would wear after leaving college. It also caters to the people who are actually still in fraternities. Like I said, it is a very Southern place, so think camo hats, fishing shirts, maybe some nice button downs, bow ties, croakies. For the ladies, the clothing is pretty cute but don't count on the stock changing too much. I think I have literally seen the same dress sitting in the place for an entire year. They also carry jewelry and some housewares that are pretty Tampa-esque, which is neat. I must say I'm sorta bummed about this place though because they were running a Creative Loafing deal half off and then rescinded it AFTER I had bought it which sort of sucks because it seems like these people want the money and not the good business that they could get from the deal. Their stuff goes on sale sometimes but it's hardly anything to bat my eyes over since I know it'll always be there, even a year from now.
