Location: Spark man Wharf Date: June 30th, 2026 Service: Food First time in Florida and first time at Sparkman Wharf where they had numerous stores and little pop-up shops and places to eat The humidity outside is alot. My friends and I were able to grab some food and some beverages a break from the heat outside. You were able to locate a available table with chairs and we sat down and enjoyed our food and chat. Check out the photos attached to this review.

Stopped by the Sparkman Wharf area looking for a place to eat. We parked in the parking garage near the Aquarium and noticed there is another paid parking lot area by the other side. There are several closed/empty stores. It's a cute place to go to if you are going to a specific place that is open. Otherwise, there's not a lot going on. They offer plenty of outdoor seating if you don't mind picking up a cocktail and seating in the heat. The day I was there, it was just too hot to just seat around with no fans or wind. Not much of a fun vibe going on. Too many closed stores create a sad feel.

Nice on the eater vibe with music, drinks and food. We witnessed a proposal and weekend crafters all while enjoying the water breeze.

Coconut Mojito from the back bar. Delicious!

Great area next to the cruise port and on the water. Lots of food and drink options to grab a bite or sip and find some picnic-like seating. I saw there was a large parking lot right next to it but it's also within easy walking distance to many downtown hotels.

This place is very nice to sit and enjoy the view, very interesting in terms of varied food options, and even has attractions (bowling and an aquarium) nearby. The price is quite touristy and reasonably high, but for a snack I think it's worth it. There are public restrooms and several parking lots nearby. Definitely a Vibe! Beautiful lights and decorations all around! Highly recommend for a date night

There is a map on this sign too!

Sparkman Wharf is a great spot to visit in Tampa. I can't believe I haven't reviewed it. There are food vendors, a bar, and some boutiques here. There's a big huge green space with tables and chairs to hang out with friends & family. It's also very dog friendly. This was the most recent reason we visited. They had a dog costume contest. They always have tons of events all year round. They are so much fun. Love Xmas time too with the Xmas lights and Xmas events and Santa pics. January is Gasparilla time so dog pirate costume contests too. There's always something going on and this is a great place for locals as well as the tourists coming off the cruise ships. Parking here can be a pain in the butt. They have a lot across the street. Prices change though depending on the surrounding events. We park by the apartments but they can be a pain too bc it's street parking and you have to look for parking. Park mobile is the easiest way to park just by downloading the app. Water St is also a nice easy walk so you can walk to both places. Also there's the nearby trolley. Def visit if you get a chance or see an event that interests you, or even if you visit the Sunday farmers market on Waters.

Our trolley tour of Tampa dropped us off next at Sparkmans Wharf. This area is on the waterfront and has shops and lots of dining. The weather was perfect to play a game of checkers while people watching. Lots of events were advertised and it was very cute all decorated for Christmas. Really wish we had this in STL!

This was a nice find during our trip to Tampa. There's alot to offer here and it's nice to see the big cruise shop nearby. A lot of options for food and little shops and bars! Definitely a nice spot to check out in the night time. The walk from the hotels to here is pretty close by as well.

Great spot with several eateries and a handful of shops. Plenty of seating to dine, right next to the main wharf and cruise terminals.

Do most restaurants here accept Apple Pay?

    Yes

    Is it pet friendly?

    Yes!!! Very pet friendly!

    Is it kid friendly?

    Yes.

Anyone know if they offer WiFi?

    Yes. There is free WiFi!

What's parking like? I have anxiety when it comes to finding parking in city type areas. So I like to plan ahead. Do they have their own lot or do you find one and walk?

They have a parking lot for $2 an hour which you can pay for at a kiosk or on the mobile app. Otherwise you can park in Tampa street parking for even less than that.…

It can turn into a full blown Saturday night party scene with flashing lights and packed sidewalks. Or it can be light, bright, interesting, and genuinely fun if you approach it with curiosity and a plan. My friends and I had a great time. The four of us found a very reasonably priced Airbnb close to Ybor, split the cost, and kept the weekend affordable, which mattered to all of us. We are at that stage of life where people are changing jobs, moving homes, shifting states, and recalibrating priorities. Being in this age group comes with both opportunity and instability, so we are all a bit more cost conscious right now, and this setup worked perfectly. Our main reason for being there was to go to Funny Bone, right in the heart of Ybor, but we intentionally walked the strip during the day first so we could see the area before the nightlife really kicked in. During daylight hours, you can appreciate the historic architecture, the energy building, and the mix of shops and restaurants without the late night intensity. By Saturday night, it was a different story. The later it got, the busier it became. Nightclubs and bars filled up, lines stretched down the sidewalks, and police cars were clearly present to manage the crowds. Some people who have not been to Ybor recently might describe it as dangerous. I would say it depends entirely on your comfort level and your expectations. If you are uncomfortable with crowds, loud music, and a heavy party atmosphere that ramps up around 1 or 2 a.m., you will probably want to wrap up your night before midnight. The lines outside the clubs grow long, the sidewalks get packed, and the energy shifts from casual to full throttle. Personally, I felt safe the entire time. I was with a group, we were aware of our surroundings, and nothing felt out of control. Having spent most of my life in downtown Los Angeles, this did not feel extreme to me at all. It felt like a typical entertainment district on a Saturday night. Ybor is not one dimensional. It is layered. It can be gritty. It can be vibrant. It can be chaotic. It can be charming. It really does become whatever you decide to engage with.

She was with me for my hair appointment, so we turned the whole thing into a full blown mother daughter day, which made it special regardless of what we did or did not buy. Hyde Park Village is absolutely perfect for strolling, wandering, lingering, and people watching because if you want to observe how the well heeled set moves through life, this is your front row seat. You will see retirees with serious jewelry sitting at cafés for hours, young professionals dressed like they have brand partnerships, and valet attendants casually opening doors to cars that cost more than some people's homes. It is fascinating in the best way. As for shopping, I will say this with humor and humility, it is way outside of my budget. I can admire the displays, appreciate the tailoring, and mentally style outfits I am not purchasing, but when I look at the price tags I am reminded that I am there for the ambiance and not the transactions. That does not make the experience any less enjoyable because there is something wonderful about walking through a beautifully curated space without the pressure to buy. For me, Hyde Park Village works as a place to enjoy a gorgeous Florida day, grab a bite, observe the scene, and spend quality time with my mother, which is what truly mattered. I may not have left with shopping bags swinging from my arm, but I left with a memory of a really lovely day, and sometimes that is the better purchase anyway.

People are walking around with their dogs and pretty happy here. This event took place from 5-8pm with the tree lighting at the end. We wish we saw the nutcracker ballet, but when we got there they were finishing up. We were able to get parking in one of the garages which they just opened up again when we got there. That made it way way easy since there was a good amount of parking inside. We were worried about the parking and it was fine. There was some vendors here and there but not too many. I wish we took pics by the vw van, but we didn't. They did have free ice cream from Oddfellows that we got. They sold mixed drinks and cotton candy and flowers and some food here and there like Birria Bros and The Mighty Fine. We didn't get any food and drinks while we were there. It was a nice relaxing night that made it even better with the Christmas lights and fresh air.
