I am not sure what is happening at the brick location but the last two times I have ordered from there have been terrible. Last month I ordered a burrito bowl with regular sour cream and ground beef. The meat wasn't drained and they put a literal CUP of sour cream on top of the bowl which made the entire bowl soupy, soggy and basically inedible. Today against my better judgement I ordered a second time. They added ingredients that i DID NOT order to my daughters tacos. Who puts spicy hot sauce on a kids meal taco -- especially when it wasn't even on the ticket to begin with? They also forgot their drinks and my chips in the bag. Never again. read more

Not good. I'm a fan of Bubbakoo's - in Freehold and thought I'd stop in for a change of pace near home. The place was completely dead but seemingly fulfilling door dash type orders because the place was very dirty. Every table needed to be wiped down. I ordered a bowl but the food had been sitting out for so long that the grilled chicken was brown and dry and the white rice was hard. I ordered fries because they didn't have tater tots. Asked for ketchup but all that was available was the packets that were stuck together by the soda machine. Hot sauces were brown and in bottles that needed to be cleaned. I stayed to eat but for the entire time, the staff was more concerned with socializing than cleaning up. Maybe the college kids running the place need a little more weekend supervision? I was reluctant to go back to this bubbakoos as I have not had great luck there. But I decided it would be easier if I just ordered in the store. My experience was enjoyable to say the least. A blonde haired girl with GREAT eyeliner made our bowls. She was so helpful, very kind, and she spoke clearly and I could hear every word she said. The boy who was checking us out was also just as helpful and kind. The employees at this location are great. And obviously the bowls were made correctly as we were there to watch. read more

It's been many moons since I wrote my first review of this place, and.. *checks notes*.. I wasn't exactly a huge fan, back then. Well, the covid-19 pandemic did a number on the local food scene, and as I emerged from my hidey-hole, I decided to give a few places like this a shot again. ...and you know what? In all honesty, my first visit or two back here was fantastic, easily 4 stars. That was back in mid-2021 however, and as I write this, we're days away from turning the page to 2023. So why the two stars? Well, every single visit SINCE those initial 2 great ones, has been fraught with at least one issue per order, often more. I don't know if they have a staffing issue here, or a training issue, or both, but *literally* every single time I've attempted to order one of their "signature" items (prominently displayed on their menu), they look at me like I have two heads and ask me what's in it. Why don't they know this? Is it so hard to print out a list of the stuff that goes INTO THE THINGS YOU ADVERTISE, and stick it behind the counter? It's like going to a BK and having the cook in the back ask you "what goes in a Whopper?", c'mon. In addition to that, I've had *wild* range in portion sizes for things like meat and beans, ranging from "wow, that's a good meal" to "where's the beef?!". Items ordered over the phone will often come up with missing stuff (eg: no bacon in a bacon/chicken/ranch quesadilla, etc). Some days the chiwawa's' are soft and tasty, other times they're basically desiccated husks of what used to be rice balls. A little consistency would be nice. Service is super friendly, so bonus points for that. Their wings here are also fantastic, and put places like Buffalo Wild Wings to shame (which admittedly is not too hard, but still). All in all, I really want to love this place - the food is good, the prices are okay, and it often keeps me fed for an entire day. That said, constantly getting items wrong, confusion as to their own menu, and wild ranges in portion sizes has very much made me second guess subsequent returns. Hopefully they can manage to fix these things, because it's a whole lot better and more creative than Chipotle. read more

The service was very slow and we were the only customers in the building. There was one employee making our order and another 3 kind of doing "busy" work. They were out of almost everything we initially tried to order and then after what felt like forever I paid for everything only to find out they didn't have the ingredients to make the fries we ordered and had to be refunded. As we're waiting for the last of our food another couple comes in and magically all of the staff cones behind the counter to help get their order filled. It was actually bizarre the way they kind of took their time with us but then hustled for the next customer right in my face. I would not go back to this location due to the food selection being so slim and the slow, rude service. read more

We live locally and order from Bubbakoo's fairly often. Food is good. Prices are not bad. We love ordering via their app as you can easily customize your order. We have never had a problem and will continue to order. *Suggestion to management: drop the 4 dollar delivery fee. It's discouraging since so many local places offer free delivery. read more

A taco and burrito place that puts a twist on things. They have general tso's and Nashville hot chicken as protein options which is different. The Chiwawa looks rather interesting if you want a fried cheesy rice wad. It's definitely the only burrito place that has pickles as an option! My son usually orders from here. One day on my way home, I didn't feel like cooking so I decided to try them. They were very courteous in helping me with my order. I wasn't used to this type of menu where you pick what you want in what you order. The food was good, shredded chicken was juicy, not dry. The place was clean, and service was prompt. I usually go to a restaurant where they give you everything with your meal, but for fast food pick up they were very good. I'll have to remember to order sides next. This place is horrible. Never coming back again. I asked for peppers and onions in my quesadilla and I didn't get it. Also paid for extra salsa and didn't get that either. My order cost over $50 dollars for 2 burritos and a quesadilla. Such a waste of money. One side of my quesadilla had no steak in it at all. If I could leave zero stars I would. A lot of the times when I come to this location the food isn't even fresh but I get past that. Today is what really ticked me off. I went in there and bought two orders of tacos and a drink that cost me $24.25. When I looked at my statement from my card they charged me $29.25. They tipped them selves five dollars because I definitely did not write down a tip on the receipt. Not like it's a lot of money but that's not right and illegal. Bubbakoos, as you read this, realize, you made me do this. When the Bridge Ave location opened my wife and i frequented it. We were there so early on that the owners (who were often there) asked us to sample items they were adding. Things were great. Portions were huge, the staff was friendly, and the price was very reasonable. A few years later we moved over to Brick and were happy to see a location was opening up right around the corner. At first, things were great. Employees from the Bridge Ave spot were running this one, our burrito enjoyment carried on per usual. Fast forward to last year when this place just went south. I started seeing new people, all the time. The staff started to seem younger. There was a lot more BS'ing and play going on behind the counter- usually between the guys and the lone girl that always seemed to be there. Its cool, i dont care, but, i do, because the service got sloppy. Ordering started becoming a chore. Your signature dish is a Chiwawa? I would never know it because i always get a dirty look when ordering one because you always seem to be low or out of Rice balls. Always. Slowly i noticed the staff wasnt that friendly anymore, the portions were getting smaller, the time to get in and out of the place was longer, and the prices were going up. A couple of times over the last two years i noted to my wife that i was just about done with this place. After all, what was i holding on to? Once the love affair wore off i started to look harder and noticed more stuff which all leads me to now, which was just my last visit. I walked in and was 1 of 2 customers, the first already making the transaction at the register. What did i notice right away? Certainly not the normal, "hi" or "we'll be right with you." Almost 10 minutes later of me standing there and i finally get a signal. Perhaps it was my stare right into the employees eyes hoping they would say something. I finally got a "one sec." Now im not one to be a jerk, i dont clear my throat or speak up to get attention, i waited patiently for someone to do the right thing and greet the customer. Take a tip from Jersey Mikes- no matter how busy they are, how many people theyre helping, they greet every person the second they walk in the door. Your busy, theres a wait? Its cool, at least i know that you know im here. I finally ordered my dinner and didnt take much notice to anything as A. i was holding my daughter and B. ive been going there so long that i get on autopilot and dont need to pay attention. Or so i though. I paid and noticed it was expensive- the prices have gone up...again. Okay, its cool- competitive market, bad economy, i get it. I get home and open the food up to see two of the saddest Chiwawas ive ever laid my eyes on. No lie, they were 33% smaller than normal. Im a grown man and usually eat half. I finished the whole thing in record time for two reasons, 1 it was small and 2. it was borderline disgusting. For starters, the rice had a strange texture and was a bit chewier than normal. On top of that were 7 tiny pieces of cold chicken. SEVEN pieces. Really? And cold? The chiwawa was topped off with Guac as i usually do, but, this time it finally hit. This Guac, errr, this green shit they serve that comes out of a bag is just gross. I never really noticed it so badly before because its so mixed in with the other ingredients, but, it is horrendous. And here's the topper, the big bag of chips i always ordered was now only filling 25% of the bag. There were 19 chips in the bag. My family of three used to hardly finish the bag. So Bubbakoos, we're done. You had your chance, i was there in the beginning and ive watched you spiral downhill. I gave you a lot of chances because i had so much time invested in you, but, thats it. In such a competitive market here at the shore with the small Burrito places and the incoming chains, you have a lot of work to do to catch back up. This one is a crap-shoot. Sometimes the rice-balls are great, other times they're burnt and dry. Sometimes the burritos are packed perfectly, other times they're sloppy and falling apart. I've been here a plenty of times. The food is alright, bu that's expected at a place like this. Normally the service is really good. Not so much today. I walked in, and there were 4 people behind the counter. 1 was busy doing something, but the others were all talking to eachother. I called in an order for food to go from here for me and a colleague, i had a quick break in between work before i had to go back. When i arrived at the store everyone was doing something so i patiently waited. Suddenly the employees were arguing over who should ring me up. I could sense the tension and then had to step in and tell them i had to go back to work so that someone could just ring me up without all the commotion before i was late to be back at work. On Saturday June 18, 2022 at approximately 6:20pm, My Girlfriend and I ordered our food. 1 steak Burritodilla. And 1 Shrimp Quesadilla. The staff was friendly yet very robotic and nonchalant showing very little emotion. We waited about 15 minutes for our food which was an acceptable amount of time if you're looking to dine in which we did. When we got our food we were not impressed to say the least. I've been to many Bubbakoos all over the state, however this one was the first one I had been to where they gave you half a portion size. Only the center of the quesadillas had the protein. I counted 5 pieces of steak in my "Burritodilla" which by the way is not advertised as "you have to tell them you want rice with it even though it comes with it" so it was an overpriced steak quesadilla. It was absolutely drenched in grease along with the container and I could tell there was cross contamination between the steak and shrimp because I'm allergic to shellfish and my throat got scratchy. My girlfriends meal was also drenched in grease and very soggy. Again, very little protein and the parameter around the edges had nothing in it. Everything was clumped in the middle but it wasn't even that much. I cannot believe I paid $28.77 for two grease drenched quesadillas. I love bubbakoos but I will NOT be coming to this location. I got two orders of tacos and one drink which came out to $24. when I checked my bank statement they gave themselves a $5 tip when I clearly wrote $0 for the tip section. This is unbelievable. We were just in on Sunday for lunch. As we entered we were greeted by a young woman behind the counter. After she finished with the customer ahead of us she took our order. My wife had a salad which was plentiful and we brought some of it. Home with us. I had a burrito and followed suggestions made by the young woman. It was really good.
